I’m brought to this video because I’m upgrading to an iPhone XS Max, and I want to pair my watch to it, I suggest taking pictures of the layout and settings on the watch before resetting. That way you can get it like for like as best as you can.

Real Life Gadget Reviews I'm a System Admin but this process of migrating my gf's watch to her new iPhone was so unintuitive and unclear to me that I was pretty much forced to seek help. Glad I found your video. Not the typical seamless experience you'd expect from an Apple product.
Exactly, this is what I found...baffling why its made some complicated!
My Apple Watch is stuck on the pairing screen and it takes forever to pair. I had it pairing while I was asleep for 8 hours woke up and it’s still pairing

Thanks for doing the video, my Apple Watch just decided to unpair from my phone, don’t know if it was down to updates.
Reset the watch and lost all my music and pictures, but it still would not pair! So I deleted the Iwatch app and reinstalled it, it then paired first time, glad to have it back.
Apple really needs to sort them selfs out

you gotta backup your phone first with the watch paired I think, then unpair through app and pair through phone. it doesn't backup activity music credit cards but you can always resync your music
