In 1933 I turned the money which I had been given into cash which I had in my pocket and I arrived in Bridgeport, Connecticut to produce this new ground taxing quality of the omni medium transport, cause its just going to go on the ground I knew people would call it an automobile. It wasn’t designed just to be an automobile at all. She was so extraordinarily stable my center of gravity was very very low and for the first vehicle that ever had the center of gravity forward of the midpoint of the wheel base. It did prove to be a very good vehicle and did have very high efficient I had eleven passengers I averaged over 22 miles to the gallon. Sometimes I got as much as 30 with eleven passengers - that is very, very high. The front steered cars with the kingpins can only steer up to 34 degrees angle. My rear rudder post I could turn so I could give you 90 degrees rudder if I wanted. This meant then that when I want to come in to a park there is space that is, say, six inches long than my Dymaxion car. I would simply bring my nose into the curb and then throw my rear wheel sideways and she went in flop like that.

From your comment I deduce that you do not know the Ford Nucleon or the Ford Gyron or the Renault concept 900 or the Alfa Romeo Caimano or the Citroën Karin, which are rarities of the automotive industry.

Great invention! That design was so much ahead of its time... Did any of his cars make the cut commercially?

IIRC I read that the prototype was in a collision with "a minor official's car", however the official's car was towed away quickly, news photos showed the Dymaxion car as apparently wrecked by itself, and it became perceived as unsafe.

The perfect road warrior vehicle. Can you imagine a highway chase with one of these? See why the nhtsb has standards.

He could use four wheels and all-wheel drive conception. This car could accommodate too many passengers and consumed too little gas. And of course one car was waiting for it around the bend.
