That base line he does 1:20 with his left hand is amazing. Love his style this man for someone that couldnt read music he was a musical genius he could play anything
Add to yr post the video on You-Tube wherein he sings gospel and plays piano with one hand cause the right hand is paralyzed. Nothing keeps Jerry Lee down.
My mom was a gilley fan and I love him too. One day we were in the car listening to Jerry and I made the remark I would love to have 1/3 of Jerry's talent, and when she asked me why I had to tell her look what mickey did with 1/4. She wanted to put me out of the car but I was driving. Right up there with Elvis
@gabe31g Muddy Waters told us (my brother and I once) that Blues overtooks You and afterwards you're drfting and drifting I totally agree He is The King
I nice cover of the even better rendition by the song's writer, Mickey Newbury. I could listen Jerry Lee sing the phone book set to music, but the changes in the tone and lyrics does not make the most of this great song.
How did we go from this to the present crap?

very cool.. never heard this version.. I love this song.
memphis!!! Have the whole concert on tape
With barely any effort Jerry Lee blows away anything Lou Reed could imagine as far as punk/cool.
@peetie44 Think Jerry had a Hard to Travel in his Lifetime and so you can hear every teardrop and laugh in his voice for he is singing with his soul

@bobobekker I'm with you on that, my brother.
