- Hey everyone, in this open practice I’m working on the Elgar cello concerto, this season I’m playing it with Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Galicia Symphony and Winterthur symphony, so lots to look forward and lots to practice. Hope you enjoy this episode!

Absolutely love that you post these open practice videos. Everyone will say “talented” or “magical” but that totally negates the incredible amount of very hard work that goes into even the most pedestrian music. Not even to the extent that you work in every little detail. It certainly pays off, and is inspirational for musicians everywhere to see you do all this. Bravo, maestro!

I’m an intermediate cellist and I’ve been having a hard time getting myself to practice, but watching you is always so inspiring and it makes me want to try harder even when I feel close to giving up. Thanks for reminding me what a passion cello is to me

Sólo quiero agradecerte que, como siempre que has actuado aquí, nos ofrecieses después el fragmento del Cant dels Ocells. Fue un momento sagrado: los dos Pablos, tanto monta monta tanto Ferrández como Casals, en el Palau . Me siento un privilegiado por haber asistido al concierto, como siempre que vienes a Barna.

I like your cello but felt you deserve a still better instrument- I feel you need a cello that has more immediate response- or maybe the soundpost needed an adjustment-
