- The first step to stop wasting food starts with controlling what we put in our plates. Always start with less than you think you can eat. You can always go back for a second serve.
Purposefully wasting food is haraam, just dumping extra good food in the trash is absolutely not allowed in Islam. Don't over eat either as that may cause you harm.

Masha allah 👍🏻 ya allah forgive us if v waisted the food purposely or by mistake
I'm conflicted. My mom insists on making me two sandwiches for school (for morning and afternoon), and for the past year one of them gets thrown because i don't eat it and it spoils. I try telling her is too much but she still says we need it. I can't throw it away but I feel very guilty if I eat it.
that's a very good question..
Subhana Allah
Allah SWT forgive us all Allahuma Ameen
What about the ones cleaning up after others? Like a maid that has to clean up after her employers have eaten, they left food in their plates which she has to clean and throw away the leftovers that are not edible. If she doesn't do that she may lose her job. So in whose record the sin fo wasting food will be in ? The maid or her employers ? Please clear this matter accordingly to hadith
Probably no need for Hadith, firstly employee should finish it and 2ndly the maid job's to clean the place so leftovers doesn't need to be her concern , it should be employees and she won't be given sin.
HOWEVER IT falls in her responsibility to let her employee know about the food wastage assuming they're Muslim cause teaching the unlearned one is a duty of Muslim
if they let you bury in the ground ant other crater will eat
Brother, I need some help.I work a closing shift at a grocery store and every night I have to throw out the bread. Tons and tons of bread get thrown away.sometimes I take some bread home but still alot of the bread ends up in the garbage. The company doesnt allow us to give the leftover bread to charities and stuff like that. It has to all go in the garbage.By force. I understand in Islam this is not allowed(wasting food), what should I do? Quit?

Usually restaurant's/shop's leftovers are composted to became fertilizer, which is useful so i guess it is allowed. Maybe your store's leftover got tge same treatment?
welljustguess I would have to find out, but thank you!
what if someone else buys food and does not eat it? is it your job to eat it?
Give it to people who need it like the homeless
You will not be helping yourself if you overeat
