I loved the "Well who knows" and then how you showed the leaf outside was priceless🤣 as you tuck it back in the dirt.💕🌈 awesome video and presentation .
@@gregthegardener Hi,Greg~nice day! This is Phyllis contacted you via email(amazon@mars-hydro.com), about the grow light sponsorship, we could provide light with stand! Could I know did you check my email sent on 29th,May? Look forward to your reply :D haha, thanks~
The leaf will eventually dry up and fall off, that is normal. So the first leaf was fine, the rhizome is what grows a new plant from the leave petiole. All you the cuttings were successful.
I found 2 stems that had broken off and fallen on the floor at a local Home Depot. I asked the lady working if I could have them and she agreed, saying they'd just be thrown out. I had them in water to start, but they looked like they were rotting, so I made fresh cuts and stuck them in soil. I haven't looked at their roots yet to see if they have any, but it's been about a year now and they look the same. No growth but they're not dead. My guess is they grew roots and will do better once spring arrives again here in the states.
Thanks for the tip how to propagate ZZ plant this help me a lot, Because I already killed a lot of this plant every time I propagate them , Now I hope I could have as much as I want, thank you and God bless, Oh , I have to subscribe now.thnx
So glad I found your channel! I never would have thought to try and root leaves - this is pretty neat and I think I know what my next little project will be, thanks very much!
I'm going to try this again after watching this. The first time I tried it I ended up with soggy rotten bottoms :-( What I find works for a broken plant stem though is to splint it with a plastic straw. Just cut a short piece and split it open lengthways and wrap it around the broken or bent section. Over a couple months the stem recovers, good as new!
Good one, I starting to experiment with this exotic and expensive ZANZIBAR plant doing six plants cuttings and propagating 40 leaves see what happens in another 5 weeks.
@@gregthegardener How do we sponsor a video of you growing dope in ACT seen as that's legit now. I'd pump those succulents with hydroponics to really see those greens pop!
I think your plant needs more light. The distance between the leaves has increased. The stems grow taller and the leaves farther apart. This means that the plant looking for light🌿🌱
I wanted a ZZ plant but the greenhouse didn't have it. Probably wouldn't have mattered anyway since the plants I bought all got sick and died. First flying pests then dead. My window faces north so I bought shade tolerant plants, nope still dead.
Try electroculture farming. I suggest you Powdered Piezoelectric crystal, electrified water, copper antenna and underground copper network with magnets in the interception.😊 Wish you the best
@@diannenaworensky6698 haha..I have three leaves in soil ... I didn't know it would take so long so I was quite shocked hahaha ... guess I will have to be patient with mine orrrrr go buy a plant lmao

What do you recommend for yellowing ZZ's we've repotted it due to yellowing but it continues to yellow and now all them are drooping quite badly. Can we still save the ZZ's? Please help.
I'm excited to try this. With the leaves put directly into the soil, how often did they get watered? Mine will have to be done indoors, so I am wondering how much to water.
I can't belive u waite 6 months to make one video most patient person i ever seen
Ikr!🌿💚
Most plant people videos do take very long, especially the ZZ plant. They’re very, very, slow growing plant’s!!
That's one fertile plant! Plus you made 6 months time pass by in 5 minutes. Double Awesomeness! 🌱🌿🌱
:D :D :D

The little shoot coming out from the base of the cutting was really cool to see!
That rock in the bowl with leafs!! Such a life hack
I like that you show what it looks like 6 months later.
Wow that new shoot from the stem was a surprise
Always pleased to see your uploads. Interesting and good that you showed the end results. Nice one, thanks.
It's always nice to see updates from this channel.
For me too haha

A big green thumbs up for that one Grego.
Thanks Steve :)

Same with me. No growth in plants I purchased
I like this video cos it's straight to the point 5mins! That's brilliant. Now I know what to do and what to expect on the broken ZZ stem. Thanks mate!
6months … omg we need more UA-camrs like you … we’ll done ..
I liked this video coz u showed us the results before and after. Thank you
Thank you .... so anxious of my baby zz plant ... now I know how to grow them more and where to cut ....
Would love to see a progress update of all of them planted into soil.
My mother used to grow plants, stones and pips.
She had very nice miniature plants from Capsicums (red and green peppers)
lol, the little leaf props looks like some kind of spider-octopus-virus-crab. It will be in my nightmares tonight.
If the water was replaced more often, I betcha they'll speed up growth even more! So happy to see that shoot with no leaves start growing!
Wow that is a nice basket.

Well done GregO, MateO, ya plants must be loving all the nice rain lately 👍

Good to know! I tried to put a splint on a broken stem before by tying/taping onto a stick, lol! Wish I would have thought of a straw! Now I know 😊
Thanks for the tip ,We’ve had tips from your Greg the Gardner Vlogs ...it has worked and has grown like wildfire ... good to see ..thanks Grego 👍👍💕
Great Sharlene :D
love your work Greg!

Greg you need to come up with more garden stuff, love this channel.
I love experiments. Please do more of these sped up experiements/comparisons!
My ZZ plants are growing like crazy very easy to take care
Flipping excellent I'm going to try this
Fascinating
beautiful plant
Gday there
Thanks for the info. Just got a couple cuttings and leaves. I'm up for the challenge !!! ✌🏻❤ 🌿🍃🌼
This is so cool. Great video Greg

@@gregthegardener 😀
love your videos!!! So many beautiful little wonders on this Chanel :)
I have seen others recommend changing the water weekly to avoid moss/mold.
Thank you fr this informative video..
Violet leaves work too. If you want to clone a violet simply break off a leaf and push the end into potting soil.
Very cool! Thanks for the follow up. Mine have only been in water for about 3 1/2 weeks but I’m super excited! Patience obviously pays off!
I did this with honeysuckle, snapped off several bar aches just stuck them in the ground and they grew into bushes in no time
Thank you for this FANTASTIC video!!
Love your gardening vids Greg! That's a pretty mad plant how it can replicate from a single leaf, I can see why folks go mad over succulents.

No matter what! Life will go on and the planet will sustain life on its own and be okay.

Good 👍👍🙂
amaaazing !
Amazing ! Thats what i said
Like my hero Rastamouse say, "make a bad ting good".
I love your speaking voice. Can I use just a potting mix to plant zz plants?
@2:45 I'm not getting the 6 months timeline. 🤔 Was it actually 6 weeks instead?
Break into more locks
I can relate to breaking of the branch as i have a dog who jumps around the house and break things 😞
Is it just this plant that grows from leaves or do other plants do it?
that dead leaf looked like facehugger from alien
