In my honest opinion, this song is one of the best Kpop songs ever made. It tells the story and seasons of love in a unique way. You don't get many songs like this today.

This song was number 3 on my top ten of 2018 Kpop songs, it's very very good. The lyrics are unique to love and tells a story. Most songs nowadays don't tell a story sadly.

Side tracks aren't that relevant if you aren't IU (Through the night had the same purpose as this song and it was a hit but Palette, her title track, did well in the charts and that was it).

Moonbyul's voice makes me feel so many emotions, I literally cried towards the end of her solo. Her voice is so beautiful and should be used more! She has such a soothing voice and is actually one of my favourites in MAMAMOO! Still love her rapping, but would really like to hear her voice more.

It's because they didn't promote the song at all, since it's supposed to be a pre-release for their upcoming album. Mamamoo is underrated internationally (which is sad), although very trendy in Korea (K-Moos are numerous and many people love MMM there), but this song wasn't even performed on stage (a short extract for the SMA, but that's all) and came out at the same time as other bigger groups' releases. Guess the comeback will have a better response (otherwise, I'll just bury myself under pounds of sadness and sorrow, lol).
Yeah I saw it live but the sound system was horrible but they still slayed it. It amazes me that even though they are from a small company they managed to get themselves recognized and their fandom increased a lot through the years. I am just amazed of Mamamoo because they had to work their way to the top, I'm not trying to diss other groups but their companies had a huge impact on their popularity but Mamamoo basically had to work from the bottom. Shreya 朱利夜 very true, when most popular artists release a new video there are barely any comments with substance, everyone’s so busy trying to increase views, it’s understandable they want them to do well but it kind of kills the point of comments
I remember seeing somewhere that instead of always showing their out going and big and bubbly personalities they also wanted to share this more mature and mellow side to them. And whilst I was waiting for that big "crescendo" or that really BIG moment, I was reminded of how great simple and plain melodies are. I was drawn to their vocals and was able to appreciate their different tones more. This song for me was great in every way. I think for artists once they portray a certain image and that image is loved by the public, it's hard to try and go out of that comfort zone and explore, grow and progress. Rather than sticking to the same style and getting boring, I'm glad they showed this side of them musically and am anxiously waiting for their actual title track (I've been told this was the pre-release track, not too sure)

At Idol Drama Operation Team, if I'm not mistaken, Moonbyul said that she was supposed to be a vocal member, but her agency said, there's too much vocal member at the group. If she still wanted to be in the group, then she must change into the rapper. If not then she cannot debut as mamamoo. I showed them to my grandma and she liked them. She says that is her favorite song from them and it makes me happy because we almost never liked the Korean pop but hearing them was an amazing experience, they don't even try to look cute or rude because they are too natural, I am so glad to Stan them since Mr. Ambiguous
I love how positive the comments are. Mostly, when koreans starts with an upbeat songs and change into ballad or slow songs, a lot of fans would hate or prefer to listen to their first concept. So seeing a lot of support here makes me so happy. 😊
I can safely say I have never heard a ballad like this from any Kpop group. Usually, there will be some bass beat kicking in by the second verse, or some random electronic beats or loud synths, there would definitely be an unnecessary rap verse, and certainly the vocals would rarely be this exposed to the listener. For this alone, I'm glad that it's getting them some good attention, they deserve it.

But I'd argue that even their intimate ballads still have more *present* production elements going on but maybe I just haven't heard enough of their music. 'Paint Me' feels like a bit of a novelty to my ear, more of an interlude of a song than a full song. Ah well.

Yellow was released first, indicating that they just met someone who started painting them, and yellow being the purest of the primary colors, where if you mess it up with any color, it’s obvious. Then blue came out, indicating a change in the relationship. Even Solar sang that the person has left and has created a metaphorical trench in her heart. It’s created sadness. Even in painting, blue is usually used to create shadows rather than black, because it damages the color too much sometimes. This hints at the relationship being too deep in and somehow dark. Then Red Moon was released. Alluding to a change in the relationship. A goodbye of some sorts. A parting. Although he hugs her, her heart “bursts like a volcano”. Meaning she still loves the person but she has somehow let go. There’s a switch of color here as well. Red being a transition colour where it’s not too pure but not too damaging in the spectrum of primary colours, compared to yellow and blue. Then white wind released, ending the 4 seasons tetralogy. Wheein sings that she’s blank like a canvas. Hinting the idea that she’s starting again for herself, she creates a new world for herself. No more colors. Just her. Wind being a metaphor for a cleanse, starting again with new winds. I just put this together in my head and I am blown. Shit these women are the real queens 😭😭
I don't get why people are hating on this song. It's so refreshing to be able to hear all their voices stripped down like this, they all sound amazing. Moonbyul sang so beautifully, I'm so proud of her! And if it's true what Mamamoo said about the other songs on the album being way better than this one, I don't I could handle it lmaoooo
People are not used to this kind of concept unfortunately. MAMAMOO came from classics, did more a pop song that's Yes I Am and people thought they were going to continue doing pop songs. These are "temporary Stans"

This song came out around the same time when I was having a hard time, and I remember sitting in my room watching and listening to it for the first time the day it came out, and I remember bawling because everything about it was so powerful. I remember seeing somewhere that instead of always showing their out going and big and bubbly personalities they also wanted to share this more mature and mellow side to them. And whilst I was waiting for that big "crescendo" or that really BIG moment, I was reminded of how great simple and plain melodies are. I was drawn to their vocals and was able to appreciate their different tones more. This song for me was great in every way. I think for artists once they portray a certain image and that image is loved by the public, it's hard to try and go out of that comfort zone and explore, grow and progress. Rather than sticking to the same style and getting boring, I'm glad they showed this side of them musically and am anxiously waiting for their actual title track (I've been told this was the pre-release track, not too sure)

I can safely say I have never heard a ballad like this from any Kpop group. Usually, there will be some bass beat kicking in by the second verse, or some random electronic beats or loud synths, there would definitely be an unnecessary rap verse, and certainly the vocals would rarely be this exposed to the listener. For this alone, I'm glad that it's getting them some good attention, they deserve it.

Just realized. Yellow was released first, indicating that they just met someone who started painting them, and yellow being the purest of the primary colors, where if you mess it up with any color, it’s obvious.
Then blue came out, indicating a change in the relationship. Even Solar sang that the person has left and has created a metaphorical trench in her heart. It’s created sadness. Even in painting, blue is usually used to create shadows rather than black, because it damages the color too much sometimes. This hints at the relationship being too deep in and somehow dark.
Then Red Moon was released. Alluding to a change in the relationship. A goodbye of some sorts. A parting. Although he hugs her, her heart “bursts like a volcano”. Meaning she still loves the person but she has somehow let go. There’s a switch of color here as well. Red being a transition colour where it’s not too pure but not too damaging in the spectrum of primary colours, compared to yellow and blue.
Then white wind released, ending the 4 seasons tetralogy. Wheein sings that she’s blank like a canvas. Hinting the idea that she’s starting again for herself, she creates a new world for herself. No more colors. Just her. Wind being a metaphor for a cleanse, starting again with new winds.
I just put this together in my head and I am blown. Shit these women are the real queens 😭😭
