I've always imagined Darkside, or Minion creeping, lurking around the corner somewhere, ready to pounce. The tire thread marks on the freeway section of the level made me feel he waz nearby. Hearing Darkside from the distance scared the hell outta me. Just seeing that truck glistening, coming straight for me, was a sight to behold. This is my favorite level.
I remember this track playing while driving aimlessly around the level. Its haunting atmospheric sounds add a really nice touch. It sounds just as ominous as when I first heard it in my youth.
There was always a great disposition about the brightly lit, wholesome suburban area, peppered with vehicular death machines. For some reason that level seemed to thematically stand above the rest.
This ambiance should be remixed with Asphalt Assault. Like start with Asphalt Assault, then this ambiance track to build up and then back to 1. Wonder how it would sound like.
Coolest part is the transition when shit hits the fucking fan lol first game I played that the music changed with combat. The only other game I seen do this is the new Doom games lol

this is actually the tune that played in between cyburb slide, when you werent within sight of any enemies. hence the name 'Hunt'

Makes me think of Maximum Overdrive for some reason. You're scouting for self-driven trucks in suburbs full of dead bodies.
