Having owned four XJ-S’s, $12,500 is a good deal if it has been well maintained. A good machnic will easily charge 10k to get a car in this condition. Don’t consider purchasing a XJ-S if you can’t put $10k immediately into it. 30 year old cars must get new shocks, hoses, belts- basically anything rubber will have turned into plastic and become brittle. But once it is dialed in, very responsive and reliable.
Beautiful car, always liked those. i'd offer $9,000
