Hey Nathan, how are you! Good to watch another video of yours. You've been very helpful. I subscribed to you on my other account. But I can't access it @ the moment. You're videos been very helpful. Having trouble with my 2010 328i xDrive BMW. Misfiring on 4 cylinders. But I replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. But brought the car to Burdick BMW to fix 2 recalls. And now its running like crap.

My e90 was having misfiring and I did coils and spark plugs. Got the injectors flow tested. I'm moving onto the high pressure fuel regulator. It only misfires after a 10 minute drive and once I prime the car it runs fine

Had a misfire with my 2002 X5 3.0 M54. It threw 3 misfire codes. I changed all six coils and plugs. Ran good for about 30 miles then it started misfiring WORSE. The vehicle threw ten codes! I did go with cheaper plugs. It had the double platinum NGK, four electrode plugs and I replaced them with cheaper Autolite one electrode plugs. Do you think that the cheap plugs are my problem or should I look at the disa?

Check for possible vacuum leaks as well! I’m currently hunting down random misfires in our 06’ X5. Starting with plugs and coils.
@@Gustyen2015 m4, car was fine after spark plug change and valve cover gasket replacement..began to have misfire at 4krpms, under heavy throttle changed new coil packs , and injector 5, still misfiring with misfire codes. Replaced the new plugs with new plugs... And misfire is gone. 3 weeks later, misfiring again at 4k rpms, no codes though. Replaced plugs again but same symptoms... Have been reading it can be injectors? Flywheel unbalanced? Vanos solenoid? Idk where to start
Hey all, I have an issue with a bmw z3 M54 2.2i. It keeps coming up with bank lean codes and misfires. Both banks and single banks, random misfires, but diagnostic says cylinder 5 is troublesome. No obvious vac leaks anywhere... fault has been getting more frequent, although the car hasn’t run much in the last six months... any thoughts??? Thanks.

Hello Nate. I just bought a 1999 Bmw 328i. I am getting a misfire in cylinders 2,3,6. I checked the coils and swapped them and the problem does not follow. It also makes a ticking sound until its warmed up. What could cause this? Spark plugs and ground wires were just replaced as well.

Will it make you cringe to know i was on factory plugs at 125k miles? Funny enough i could have left them in. Same with the fuel filter. Talk about lucky.

hi Nathan's i have bmw 325i 2000 ihave cold star mis fire .I check no air leak but when i disconnect maf sensor the car work good and sens cold start misfire started i had problem with transmission not shifting good with out safe mode .

Misfires when I go over 4500rpms throws p1353 than I use my ob2 scanner to erase the code than it runs fine afterwards
Yeah I've got an 02 325xi and its done it twice uphill under heavy load. Cleared code and it's gone. The second time an evap code came up as well

I only get a misfire on Cyl 3 during high RPMs when I really push the car. Does that have to do with the spark plug gap? I have an e60 M5.

In my case it was the wiring harness one of the wires were broken and was causing misfire in cylinder 4, I'm still not sure if I have to replace the wiring harness or just fix the wire.
What did you figure out with your misfire? Im having the same issue. How did you determine the wire was broken? Thanks

Help.... I changed the spark plugs of bmw e90 320i the after the start but misfire. Swapped the coil plugs then after not starting but cranking..... While cranking the Rev counter moves a little bit
My e90 320d drives flawlessly most of the time, but on some ocassions when I'm pressing the gas to the middle point, it starts to make a slight BRR BRR - BRR BRR BRR- BRR BRR etc sound, until I take the foot of the gas and press again. Sometimes it just goes away, sometimes it stays a while. It's not making the car undriveable, but when that happens it jerks slighty, like it connects and disconnects the gass a little, not fully.
Do you have any idea what this might be? My local BMW mechanic was unable to locate the issue, he was also unable to reproduce it, since it happens randomly..

Try to get a polarized filter for a camera. Since you do a lot of outside videos it'll help greatly. Great job so far on everything.
Just a thought, when doing the voice over thing take it a little bit slower with the video on each thing your showing, instead of moving between items so quickly. (It could just be that I'm too old to be able to keep up!) The video was very clear with the new camera... What is up with having a mouse nest in the motor??? Is that just a parts car? Yikes, what codes are set when a mouse nest starts to burn when the motor gets hot ?!?
nathan help me.. i change spark plugs and trade a coil number 2 for a number 1 but the cilinder 2 wont work.. rought idle and steering shake and so much rough noise on the engine..why the cilynder 2 wont work?what can be?

Fixed my sparks and my ignition coils getting 02 upstream and down done soon what else should I do in case they keep happening after ?

Hey Nathan I got a 1998 740il that keeps pulling coded po173 and po170 and is hard to start first thing every morning, I've changed the plugs and cleaned the maf but the codes are still present also exhaust smells like it's running a little rich, what might it be?

Hey I have a 2005 X5 with a m54 engine that idles rough with a p0302 code. I did a compression test and cylinder has the lowest compression.
I got p0300 after fixing a broken upper coolant hose. Any clues to why I would have this issue? My engine was running fine before the break.

I have a very strange random missfire that comes on at low speeds in traffic. If I restart the engine it clears. Any idea what causes that?

@@tsarbear4191 I totally forgot about this but my issue was only misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced coil spark plugs and valve cover gasket, disa valve, and intake boots. Only had a oil pan leak at that point. Finally took it to a shop and said the valves were bent . Most likely because of the disa valve the pin was missing when I replaced it. Unfortunately didn't get around to fixing it as a reckless driver ran a red light and hit me. Rip 330ci vert .
Oh geez I'm working on a 97 328i also a miss on only cylinder 5 noticed some oil on the plugs, some people on the forms usually blame the ccv so a simple fix will be to bypass it and replace with a catch can. Thanks for the info though as it does give insight.
7th Element Driving could be ccv too. I read about that mine had a small leak and was on it's way out probably but wasn't losing oil dramatically either .Less than a quart every 2000 miles so I know it wasnt that bad . But the catch can is definitely a good upgrade.
Mine was the intake manifold split. I couldn’t see it myself just took it to German mechanic to deal with it.

Hi Nathan! i have a E39 523i M52, im having some problemthat car starts fine when cold but after driving a while if i stop it, it wont turn on until engine is cold again. i read the code and it showed a code for camshaft position sensor and i replaced it with OEM one but problem still exist. i notice after engine is warm starter cranks only for second and nothing happen. i replaced crankshaft sensor about a year ago with OEM one too.What do u think that is making warm start problem?Thanks
Xulian Zeal if your car shuts off at idle when engine is warmed up and won't turn back on you seem to have an overheat issue .if your needle is fine, some hose is either getting burned up
Bmw M3 e46 My nidle stays normal, i took a spark plug and it was fouled because of running rich. im gonna change those plug soon. whats makes starter to not crank more than a second while warm?

I need your help folks? I got bought an abandoned 98’ e36 M3 S52 with two bad cylinders 1 and 2. I have replaced and switched around coils, spark plugs, and injectors... No changes. Only diagnostic test done so far is coil ignition test. And they are good. Symptoms found were moisture on tip of spark plugs 1,2... perhaps gas or coolant. Overheating... I believe bad Thermostat. Codes pulled are P0300, P0301, P0302. I tried unplugging coils 1,2 while engine is running and it did not change engines timing. I also notice a small hose that goes somewhere under the intake manifold is hanging around. There is moisture under oil cap every time I check, and lower radiator hose stays cool at operating temp. I plan to replace thermostat, search for vacuum leaks with smoke tester. I am thinking it is intake gasket leak, or valve cover leak, or vacuum. I’m hoping for responses or opinions and praying it’s not head gasket. Help......

hi. pls. help. 325 M54. always missfire cyl2. when cold. moved: sparkplugs, coils, had injectors cleaned and moved to other positions. have same compression values on all cylinders. - o2 sensor bank 1 - before cat. changed but it didnt help it from peding up and down values just are not stable like bank 2 before cat. (even when warmed up)... engine light comes up from now and than and complains on cylinder 2 missfire or the bank 1 bef. cat. sensor.
If the cylinder gets shut down (errror code:misfire and cylinder shutoff) when cold, its the hydraulic lifter that are sticking,so when cold, the valve sticks open so that there is no good compression. Check compression when completely cold, First thing in the morning, if it’s bad, put some oil into the chamber through the spark plug hole and measure again. If it’s good, your piston rings are bad, if it’s still bad, might be the lifters as explained above.

I have a 2006 330i bmw and it starts ruff and smells like crud gas like not mixing right but after I’m on the road it work perfect great power no problem but every time I come to a stop it shuts off it start right away after that but every single time I come to a stop it shuts off when I’m on the highway no problem

It could be your neutral safety switch. Had the same problem with mine and that fixed it.
Hi Nathan, you are amazing. I'm having the fault code : Enging-DME Digital Motor Electronics MS43. It says Cylinder 2 and 4 misfire. However when I erased code, the engine is running perfectly. Do you think the problem got fixed when I erased the code?

My 99' 323i almost ran out of gas and started running rough and I'm pretty sure it's misfiring it feels like it. Don't have a scanner at the moment so I can't prove it but any advice? Could there be air or debris in the fuel system?
I had same problem with my 2000 323ci it was my vacuum hose

Check your crank case vent lines see if they're split or cracked. Mine was doing the same and replaced those and it went away

so checc this out. I'm having the same issue. I've tried the seafoam it worked but then the car cuts bacc off as if it lost compression again... I'm confused at this point. I'ma try what you have . I've changed camshaft sensors, crank shaft, fuel pump, spark plugs etc I had a reading that said that I had multiple misfires ... After I tried this fix . Should I try it again?

What should I do next I had a misfire in cylinder 6 I change ignition coil and spark plugs when I change the spark plugs they had dry oil on them car shakes at idle

Please men I need your help .just got a x3 sdrive 18d 2014 with b47 engine and 47000miles. Right at the main dealership I noticed it and also a whistle . They changed the turbo and the whistling stopped. Shoulda walked away but ..... when I start the engine it vibrates and sounds like a train. I can even hear it inside the car and feel the vibration on the gear stick and clutch. Help please!!!

P0305 PO303 PO306 PO174 PO300 PO304 PO171 Rough Idle, clear the codes and comes back after about 20 minutes. I did take apart the intake hoses to fix a power stearing leak and now ever since the hoses have been loose and popping out and stalling out the car, so I endded up screwing them in place. no more stalling but I do keep getting these misfire codes. is this the issue you think? Sometimes I hear a whistle sound when accelerating. Idled at a red light or stop sign is always rough and first starting the engine it sounds like a whining grinding sound until it warms up and goes away. I cannot see any cracks or holes in the actual hoses other than the screw holes I made to hold the stupid things from slipping off.

I have a 2012 BMW X5 3.0 I’m gettin random misfires for sometimes 1,2n6 n sometimes I get other misfires too . I replace the all spark plugs all coils plus the injectors also the high pressure fuel pump n oxygens sensors n cooler temp sensor I’m jus throwing parts at this car. Can u assist me? Cinder Nena I had to torque my spark plugs to 16 foot pounds torque n it solve my problem maybe try that

I just subscribed to your channel. I recently started having problems & check engine light with my 7series Bmw N63. First one was Dmtl fuel pump leak. After driving for 2 days. I did a burnout fresh tires I got then after it went into limp mode & start to show drive train malfunction in the engine. I drove it for a little to park it and start smoking from the engine but the car wasn’t overheating. Put the computer on it the error codes were running a code saying running lean & all cylinders misfire. It starts back up without a issue but it goes back into limp mode & sometimes shut off on its own. However I noticed a air seeping sound from the engine when it’s being rev. Please can someone help me find out what could be the issue here

Jeez you are a dead ringer for Travis Rice.... Already done coil packs and he basics. Runs fine higher end and at tick over but its hesitating from low revs if you try and put too much thru the throttle. If you keep pushing it throws it into limp mode with the CEL.

i have a 1993 325i all coil packs are good but number 3 misfire

I'm running rich on banks 1 and 2 with the occasional pop-up of cylinder misfire on 2 or cylinder misfire on 5
I got that code, and replaced those sensors. It didn't fix the missing.

@@Magic4599 it's been quite some time now but I did have a crack in the intake boot I also changed all vacuum hoses and make sure the little port on the back of the motor was capped. maf as well
I don't know if that's what fix that problem shortly thereafter I replaced my DME and haven't gotten those codes since I hope that helps you like I said it's been quite some time
