    Agree, it would be great if we saw more videos like this, what mistakes we all make. My son and I have Sur Rons, we love them for woods riding. I drool over a Stark Varg .. and then I remember what my goal was at 62 years old. Get back out into the woods and enjoy with a light, controllable bike!

    thanks man. was going to get a 16 rear for my stock surron. After watching this im just going to keep my 19 inch wheels. thanks for saving me buyers remorse.

    You cant run those wheels without doing other mods to compensate for it. You need power mods to run those wheels. That's why you regret it. The 16/19 setup is actually perfect for the bike. You need a big sprocket. A controller. Many things to make that wheel set work. The first thing you should've done was get a controller if power is what you wanted

      I'm not after more power, just hoping to keep power similar or slightly less than stock, which won't happen as I explain in the video. If you go to the popular sites selling the 16" rear they don't mention this at all.

      @@tigerrider6711 if you got a controller and bypassed your bms you'd have more power to compensate that's the most affordable way but you jave to compensate your making changes to the bike it effects its perfprmance. Battery isn't necessary unless your after range or power

    Thanks! I liked and subbed. I also have the light bee x. So far no mods besides a shock cover, phone mount, and headlight switch.

    I lost barely any power when I got a 16 inch rear wheel with stock power. I think you lost more power because you also have a bigger sprocket.

    For $150, the Power Booster brings back some power lost in weight

    3:20 I have same as you , exact same rim, 15t front sprocket 58t rear sprocket, oem non by passed battery but a Ali express 250$ ND72530 I have more torque and way more top speed than with the x controler. And the range is the same as with the x controler surprisingly . I found the 16 rim to be one of the best mods I did, I comute every day off road 50km, it's way more comfy

    Good video man!! Im to broke to mod and I keep almost getting pulled in. I almost got a 16" wheel Few weeks ago with money I do not have. but I was thinking the same thing loss in power I'll wait way down the line maybe if I ever get more power.. for now 19 19 Kinda millvill and Trackmaster set up Tubless mtb style works good for what I ride

    I'm trying to figure out some tires for my talaria I use a few roads just to get to the trails but then it's single tracks and forest trails.
    Those tires look really beefy. I think a new ko nano controller and a bypassed battery would give you that extra power for the weight you've added

    • @tigerrider6711
      @tigerrider6711  Рік тому

      I’m too chicken to bypass the battery, last ride I barely limped it back with 12% left so I would probably damage it.

      @TigerRider don't blame you. I'm the same. fully stock power and happy with it for now but I'm still on the light stock tires..

    i think you just got too heavy of a rear tire. i have a tusk recon and it runs like stock in terms of power

    Do you think those studs aren't working because of the weight of the bike? I live in the tropics, and don't dirtbike so I have no experience to help out. I think a bigger tooth sprocket will help your issue, it's cheaper than a new controller. Good video man.

    • @codecodderson3607

      Needs way more studs too, probably double what he has every lug should have a stud and the double lugs should have 2. I tried to cheep out before and I had a similar experience on a 450. Put the rest in and it was like I was on gravel.

    It’s been 1.5 years since this video. Really appreciate your thoughts on mods you regret. Have you done anything else since? Do you recommend updated controller/battery/motor or do you feel stock with better 19 inch tires of the only mod needed on this bike?

    • @tigerrider6711
      @tigerrider6711  4 місяці тому +1

      Nope I haven’t done any other mods just been enjoying the bike. The moto tires on stock wheels, pegs, and riser bars would be the only mod I’d do. I’ll never do a battery and controller for $3000 i could have another dirt bike.

    I recommend a 70/100-19 moto front tire on both the front and rear w a 54t for stock power. Nano with a bypassed battery next. Then 16inch rear is perfect.

      My talaria shipped with 80/100-19 and they're really nice but the stance is a little off I need 16's in the rear.

    I run warp 9 wheels. 21 and 18 with a warp 9 58 sprocket. Runs good on stock controller and battery

    wouldn't lowering the sprocket fix the speed issue?

    • @tigerrider6711

      Stock motor and battery just doesn’t have the power to spin the big tire up well.

    I would have never paid that price for studs selling your stock Wheel set few bucks more gotten you Milk Racing wheel set 18' that would of been fine for trail rides

      I’m not chasing more power cause I have dirt bikes. Just want more grip to rail single track harder.
