I lost barely any power when I got a 16 inch rear wheel with stock power. I think you lost more power because you also have a bigger sprocket.

My stock head unit would switch from AM to FM and switch stations on its own. The lights would also flicker. I banged on it so much it cracked lol. I eventually went ahead and replaced it too

Definitely agree that many folks seem to exaggerate the potential of these little heaters and it sounds like you have a dud (possibly damaged gaskets or loose connections between the burn chamber & heat exchanger?) or it is not operating with the proper settings for your area. Looking at this setup, some obvious ways to improve efficiency would be to route the combustion air intake outdoors along with the combustion exhaust, you are consuming and exhausting the air from the heated space to support combustion, so two hits to the efficiency, firstly you are constantly exhausting the air that you're trying to heat, secondly you are creating a negative pressure in the heated space, the exhausted air has to be replaced with air from somewhere outside this space, so you're introducing a constant flow of fresh unheated air through every tiny crack or crevice that is present. Another common method to gain efficiency is to capture exhaust BTU's by routing the exhaust through some type of properly sealed heat exchanger before exhausting it. If you're smelling a diesel odor but not seeing any diesel puddling, you probably have a rich burn or an internal exhaust leak, either way you could be concentrating substantial CO levels in your garage, do you have an instant read CO meter to check the levels? With a good diesel heater setup to maximize efficiency, they are capable of heating surprising volume of air, but folks forget, (or don't know) they were originally designed to heat the cab of a truck overnight, not a 2-stall garage or a home.

Hey man great video! It’s been about 2 weeks now, what has your experience been so far? It’s listed on Amazon for $200ish dollars, you think that’s still worth it? Do you experience any input lag? Also are you able to watch UA-cam/Netflix etc on the unit? If so, parked or also while driving? Lastly, do you think it’s possible to also install media keys on the steering wheel at the same time? if you own that house, time to build a used oil and wood heater outside, run copper pipe around the heater and insolate the heater, then run coolant into a car radiator with a water pump, make you own heater, keep the burning outside

Make sure you play with your settings to calibrate it to Canadian weather, sounds like you have a poor air / fuel ratio for the temp and atmospheric pressure, that might be why you're smelling unburnt diesel. Hit the spanner (top left) button until you see a padlock. then press the LEFT key and enter 1 - OK - 6 - OK - 8 - OK - 8 - OK to unlock advanced configuration. Make sure your glow plug configuration is set to its highest setting (PF - 6) for this environment.

I use one of these to heat 2 rooms in my house. Not brilliant but until I get a wood fireplace it will do. Having the thing suck air from inside the house is much better than it sucking from outside. 15-20°C difference. The exhaust is vented outside obviously.

Lots of people who live the van life in Alberta Canada have these and are surviving so they can't be that bad

You should replace the weather stripping on those blower vents, I'm sure the cigarette stink is caked up in those. Just get some universal weatherstrip the same size and material from your hardware store, you'll be happier knowing that old stinky garbage has been replaced.
