God bless Ian. Guy's rant is a little whack-a-doo. McKaye is smart enough to realize who they're playing to - an impressionable group of young people- and tailors his thoughts as such.
I’ve always loved how Ian and Guy talk to the crowd. When I was a student at NYU they played a show at the student union. Security kept freaking out whenever fans started to mosh and the band had to ask us to stop. Guy told us, “look everyone, you can’t look like you’re fighting when you dance. They just won’t let us play otherwise. YOU KNOW, AND WE KNOW, BUT THEY DON’T KNOW.”
Saw them 91 at Melbourne Uni. A kid from my high school climbed the PA stack and landed on top of the pit from 20 feet up almost stopped the gig. I think that might have changed the bands stance of stage diving. Was a great gig got a lift home from the same kids crew they were year 12s I was year 11. would have been a 35 km walk. The snare from hell
I mean. You’re not wrong.
the snare is definitely from heaven! brilliant. Love from a drummer from Berlin
