Max, the grief, the pain, survivor's guilt, depression, wanting to disappear, all of it, man, then the turn, the fight to survive, facing down this cruel monster, I feel like this scene taps into many things many of us have struggled with. The music is hopeful and just a bit of melancholy to level it.
Did anyone else cry on this episode? Every time I hear this version of that song, man something in me overwhelms. Music is so powerful-episode 4 was just a masterpiece.
That's why I'm against streamers counting down to the next episode. Even though you can cancel that it still takes you out of the moment. The credits not only show the tech team making the show/movie it also lets you digest what you've just been watching and this was one of those examples. ~ Caretaker
I have PTSD from my multiple combat deployments to Iraq back in 2004-2006. During those periods I lost two of my closest friends who I went to BRC, jump, dive, and SERE with. They both got killed during an ambush on a routine reconnaissance patrol. Since then I’ve had extreme survivors guilt, this scene details perfectly the internal hell I’ve lived with the last couple 16 years plus…..this scene also brilliantly displays the true power of friendship. I might be a salty ass old war horse of a Marine but this scene brought me to tears, and I don’t care….that’s how truly remarkable and significant this scene means to me.
No shame, and thank you to the moon and back for your service. I lost a close friend to cancer back in January. We used “running up that hill” on a senior film project back in high school. This scene absolutely gutted me, especially the montage. It all just felt so real and pertinent to ANYONE going through any sort of grief and trauma. I hope you find true peace, you deserve it, don’t think for a second that you don’t ❤️
I like the ending music because of how calm it is. If she didn’t have friends who cares for her, worried for her, she would’ve died. “I’m still here.” That could honestly work for so many people in real life who feel like they’re alone … and don’t want to stop living.
@@markjones6747 i never in my entire movie observation saw that kind of fear hope desperation in a single frame. Like the way she expressed it resonates with viewers especially those who have/had depression. Wow.
Max did the great job expressing the guilt, fear, can't speak out loud how she felt but only could write it down, and then she wanted to live and be happy with her friends and Lucas again. all felt so true and real. the song did a wonderful add to that scene.
the composers of stranger things - all seasons - are absolutely amazing. anyone into analog synths and music production knows how amazing their work is. Can't imagine it with regular pop music. They nail every season
Aren't we all running from our inner demons ? Constant pain gripping us harder every day. It's the memories we cherish saves us everyday. Really needed it to be reminded in my life right now. Gonna binge this for a long time. Thank you.
@@okaykaram Then you can ignore it and move on. Thanks Utkarsh for sharing your perspective. Relate to it quite a bit. It's great when media ends up being so personally significant to us and touches deep emotions that we may not even have been aware of. So glad that Stranger Things exists.
@@okaykaram People have already admitted that it has help them. They said this particular episode gave them enough strength to keep going. That's out of their own mouths, not mine.
Not the people who have suicidal thoughts themselves. Don't forget that Max only survived because her friends were there and they did everything they could to save her. This scene is actually aimed at people who are friends, family or just anyone who really cares about someone who's going through this. Don't place the responsibility on people with depression, don't burden them with more than they are already burdened with.
@@lalalabizola as someone with severe depression, what you just said made absolute no sense.. they're just saying that people with suicidal thoughts should watch this episode and i agree, it made me feel so much things and even made me feel better. you can identify yourself and even let your feelings out.
This song hit my soul.. it’s like a fire grew within.. and to see max put up a fight like that .. wow.. it’s crazy how a single scene from a tv show could be so uplifting 🔥🔥🔥
I love life and how it still can surprise you now and then with such an amazing melancholic song that cab twist us inside with a wake up call. Thank you Max, stranger things and all you guys. Love to read your comments as im listening the song yet again
netflix didn’t miss a single fucking hit. this new season is THE BEST and even the soundtrack lacks nothing! like wtf God this is so perfect and so crying mader
I absolutely adored this beautiful rendition of the song, It made be cry when I first heard it especially after that super emoshional episode, Genuinely think it was my favourite episode of ST and one of my favourite scenes that ive seen. Absolutely blew me away, thanks for posting this, Its cool to see other peeps appreciated it as much as me :)
this was the perfect way to calm us all down ... I'm still here... I'm still here... I made a piano cover inspired by this mood ... a slower, sad, emotional version...
I’m one of those, like many unfortunately, who felt at the lowest of lows in their life. When I saw this scene, it broke me. But in the best way possible. It might be silly that a show, a song, a scene, is what gets to you and makes you want to live, but it’s just like the quote in stranger things “music can reach parts of the brain that words can’t” and I felt that so hard. Idk.
That episode had me tearing up with this beautiful arrangement into the credits. That is why I love this series, because the soundtrack drags you so beautifully into the atmosphere. Skipping Intro and Credits in this show is taking away half the enjoyment and emotional power of this show. I'm really happy that the Duffer Brothers pick up again after a for me really strong dip in Season Three with one of the most questionable character developments I have ever seen. Only thing that still bothers me is Will. After being the center of attention in Season One and Two his character doesn't get much to do other than standing there with goose bumps on his neck once per season. Maybe Season Five will finally bring more attention and development to his character again.
Stranger Things is just so good, i started to watch this show very late, in 2022 august i think. Im glad i got into it. I never had time but i got obsessed with it. This show has everything. Kinda sad that it will end in last season and because of that the last season has to be extremely good cuz shows like these with huge potential tends to get last season wrong so the Duffer brothers have to get everything right. ALSO , one thing what makes Stranger Things THAT Good is the soundtrack / music, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein needs to get lot more credit. Without them Stranger Things wouldn't even be close as good as it is. About the video. Loved this part. The fading piano ...gives you mixed emotions. 10/10
Godfreakingdamn what at epic climax to an epic episode. This music accompanied Max's escape perfectly. I totally cried. Brilliantly put together. I love this show so much. I was going to be so upset if Max didn't make it out alive, and probably boycott the rest of the episodes, lol. Glad she made it out!!!
