The crescendo at the end killed me man. S4 went above and beyond the limit of previous stranger things seasons. Everything from cinematography, sound design, music choice and so much more. This season topped stranger things and I don't know if it's possible to make another season that can do better than this one. EP9 was absolutely made to be seen in a cinema.

Season 3 is more favorite because it was more colorful and the cinematography was way more creative (the cool transitions were everywhere in S3). Season 4 is more gray and still but it has a better story than s3. They are equals.

I wish we got a post credits scene of Vecna retreating and unveiling a huge army of Demogorgons, and other crap with the Mind Flayer in the background. Nevertheless, something similar could happen towards the begining of the season. I guess the Main Characters will probably stay in Hawkins as they know they are the only way to defeat the Upside Down.
I'd say it's more like an event, the last one being MCU movies of the 10s culminating to Endgame (2019), and the one before that being the Hunger Games (2012-2015), etc.... These are the moments you are really waiting for the next sequel as you want to know how the story will resolve itself and are looking for that next release date.
It'd be awesome if, for the final season, they combined a full orchestra with the usual synths because that would really fit with Season 5's massive scope.
They need to release this version immediately. It gave me up and down chills and shows how the scale of the show has increased to such great heights since season 1 and sets the tone to show how epic of a finale we have in store for us with season 5.

Agreed, I was so confused after listening through the album wondering where this was, thinking there's no way it wouldn't be included. Just stunned that it wasn't. It's like ordering an expensive steak and potatoes at a restaurant, only they leave out the steak.

The two "main composers" (and I say main because it is very likely they have a team of over 50+ people working for them, they just get credit) most likely wrote the ideas, known as a "mockup", and whoever orchestrated it and arranged it (seems like the Rob Simonen guy) made it to what it is today. This is also known as hybrid scoring, combining orchestral sounds with modern day sounds such as synths
Everyone talks about the last part of the song but the first half with the rising violins and general sense of dread in the tone is absolutely incredible, the visuals alone would not have told as much of a story as it did with this stunning track

that modulation at the climax is beautiful. Rob's involvement with ST:4 made it even more cinematic and this season in particular NEEDED this kind of emotional wallop that only orchestral music can deliver. Love it!

I have to say, this scene really gave me chills. This season is definitely my favorite tbh, especially how the episodes lasted like 2 hours long. So much hard work. I just know that next season will be crazier…and all can be reunited.
the trombonist in me appreciates this greatly - the string build up, the choir, the fading in and out trumpets and bones, the ghostly strings, and the french horns blowing it through the roof. 2:41 HOLY SHIT THE TROMBONES AND TUBA modulation, chord change, screaming french horns, low powerful low brass backing, the heavens open up with the choir then it fades. What an amazing theme
I started watching stranger things last Tuesday and just finished today. I’m already sad the next season is the last. It just goes to show how emotionally connecting or whatever this show is. LESS THAN A WEEK! I feel confident saying this is the show of the century, but we still have a good 87 and a half years to make that decision.

That change at 2:50 is soooo sooo good!!!! Gave me epic Harry Potter finale vibes, every one coming together for one last fight, not knowing if they'll make it. Wish I could've been in the room when the Stranger Things team conjured up this work of magic for the first time, must've been electrifying
This finalie was amazing, when the particles started to come down the people who didn't know where in awe and amazement, while the ones who knew the truth were in shock & worry of what was to come.
Weirdly, this piece reminds me of the soundtrack of Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse. That soundtrack incorporated orchestral and rap/hip hop elements all rolled into one. This piece sort of does the same thing with orchestral mixed with synth. Incredible.
