It's actually cool that everything we need is unified in one tool. At the same time, the profit-driven focus of tech giants forces smartphones to be designed in a way that makes us addicted, requiring us to limit our environment through self-nudging. I find this development dramatic, as smartphones have so much potential. I love the idea of carrying just one device.
Your best bet for that is probably having two phones then (one that allows "entertainment") or simply only use the distractions on other devices like computer or tablet. It is easy to doom scroll because you get trapped in the first place.
@@mikkel3135 yeah, i've decided on going the 2 phone route myself. I use 2 smartphones for my setup - I call 1 my "Focus Phone" and the other one is just my normal day-to-day phone. When I'm at work or when I want to be fully immersed in doing a task, I only carry the Focus Phone. The other one is what I use whenever I'm doing anything else.
I've been really out of it recently. school sucks and I seem to get no work done. After New Years my resolution was to be more productive, focus on school, yet build some cool shit throughout the year, and ur vids rlly help me get back on track :)
can you do a video on how you capture your monologue shots? I like the dof, shadow and black boosts, would love to know the sauce, you're my fav youtube ch rn
on the note of exercise video with whoop, i think since you've been lifting for 7 years, a guide to frictionless gym routine/easy optimization to be consistent could be a fun video!
hey, i really like the setup on your iphone mini. is there any chance you could give me your dumbify text size and spacing numbers that you have on yours? happy new years! 🎉
I would enjoy a video of your time visiting family in Asia. I will likely never travel to Asia, but to have an individual who I respect & appreciate give me a candid tour of his experience would be educational as well as enjoyable.
Ipod nano 7th still is awesome today, pro tip u can rearrange those homescreen icons by long pressing an icon and moving it when it starts to wiggle. Owner of red and grey nano 7th here
yooo I only have budget for a kindle idk if I should go for it, really want an e-reader appreciate you for carrying earplugs too lol I think it’s essential if one doesn’t have anc headphones
Nice video!!!! you have no idea how I love your content!! + what type of loop is that? and does it blocks every sound like apple EarPods pro(I think u have it)
Hey Reysu, I've tried the spiral and the regular field notes, both are great but have you seen the 3x5 index card holder they offer? It can double as a wallet too!
I used a kindle for 10 years and its actually great but this is more portable, I can install alternative apps like anki, and I can download books from the web directly on the device
@@reysuI just got a Palma 2 and it's a lot better for Japanese study just due to running on android. Getting yomichan running on that helps a lot with my light novel habit. I could import them to my Kindle, but the Kindle dictionaries just didn't cut it for me. Being small is great, but that android OS is 👌
Just buy a second hand iPhone, could be iPhone 12 mini and up. Since the phone will be very minimalistic and not doing any hard/difficult tasks the specs don’t really matter. Plus it’s way cheaper too!
"Hard to watch videos" my 13 mini for 2 years was my absolute favorite media consumption device lol, the small screen didnt bother me for videos, music sounded greaat, and with the grayscale filter I read a LOT (132) books on it happily, now I have a kindle and a galaxy s20fe, but I often do miss my iphone just a little bit since the 13 mini felt like a catchall device to me, definitely was horrible for my screentime though lol
@@reysu I really like it! It counts my sleep, steps etc, plus it's full color and the battery lasts about 6 days or so. The only thing I don't like is the lack of physical buttons...but for $30 I can't really complain!
Subscribed solely because you have a IPhone Mini, I did the same thing just to stop using my phone and deleted social media. Also, to motivate me can people call me a piece of shit just to motivate me?
apple watch or garmin?
apple watch it can just do more but garmin is great for a more minimalist approach
I chose the Apple Watch because it allows me to leave my phone at home since it supports LTE connectivity.
garminnnn
Garmin or a nice mechanical combined with a whoop band
