- This video showcases Sonic Riders X, a Sonic Riders remake in Unity. The graphics are mindblowing, and new there's welcome new changes to mechanics, such as holding the boost! So far you can play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. This is from SAGE 2021.

Sonic Riders has a lot of potential to be a perfect Sonic Racing Spinoff game and it shows in this fan game! Awesome work by the fans who made this!

@@Sonic_-cy7lk it’s made by sgiygas and beatz I believe. Chaos WAS making his own but killed it off I believe.
@@Angel-qj1ep he's still making it, but is trying to implement more free riders stuff it seems. His is going in a different direction than this one
I wished that I could play this on Nintendo Switch
This looks really good, and seems a lot faster than the original Riders. I would say the next step would be implementing dynamic camera angles during jump sections or air refill sections (like in Metal City) in order to hide some of the stage clipping and other visuals that are usually hidden in the original.

If you've played it, there's a lot more stuff that needs fixing before they get to the camera lol. It's only 2 dudes working, so it makes sense, but yeah.

I'm pretty sure this runs on the actual riders engine since when I downloaded it there was no exe file for it. So I'm guessing you need dolphin or something. I'll look into it later and maybe I'll make a video on it myself

SAGE 2021 is here!! And we have a look at this amazing remake!! The graphics are simply gorgeous and I really like how it handles as well. Holding down the button to boost is an appreciated change. Also I know alot of people are giving ChaosX credit, but I believe the main developers Beatz and Giygas as the menu says. All I know they all did great. :)
Now this is Super Sonic speed.

Man, you stole my idea😕 But I really hope that this project will go further in development. As a wish, can't wait to see some playable tracks from other SR games. And how do you think, is it good idea to put in a game more sprint tracks?

The increased speed in movement, tricks, jump charge etc is a massive increase on this great game's quality. This project has a ton of potential.

Agreed, first game is still my favorite, 2nd game is good but the music and story gives me good memories

I remember on my PS2 I have sonic riders / zero gravity, sonic unleashed and sonic heroes.
Omg the nostalgia, I still have my PS2 today and still play sonic riders on it.
The other games got lost and the sonic heroes disk got broken. But at least my favorite sonic riders game didn't get destroyed.
So I just have sonic riders instead of zero gravity.
I want to but sonic riders zero gravity for my Wii to relive my childhood. And get sonic heroes for my Xbox 360.

The camera feels a bit too stationary compared to the original, but this is still incredible.

It's absolutely unlikely that SEGA will take this down since SEGA themselves likes their fans making fangames based on their IPs.

Something tells me that they are playing it right now and realizing that the fans want more riders.
There's some missing details like the jump camera and the wobble animation when the board is going low on air

This looks really good so far, not just being a graphical boost, but also making the game look overall faster and (hopefully) a lot less janky leaves a lot of promise.

I like how one of the stages is the dream hoverboard racing stage form M&S Tokyo Olympics, and it fits well too for this
This has a ton of potential for modding for new characters, vehicles and stages. I am loving it all so far, and I hope this can reach completion!
SEGA has always been the best at fast-paced, colorful racing experiences, and I'm SO glad there are some fans eager to carry that spirit on to fan made projects!

_But on a more serious note, so far, this is looking incredible, but although it's a massive improvement visually, it's definitely lacking in other departments, weirdly enough the animations still feel very sluggish and robotic in comparison to the originals, that made great use of the squash effect._
_The physics feel off as well, especially during jumps, although that could be the camera angles that show a different perspective from the original._
_Other than that, I have to appreciate the fact that it feels much faster than before, it isn't something major, but it does help with the excitement._
_Never really understood why SEGA just didn't remake Sonic Riders, tweaked Zero Gravity's and Free's tracks to fit the original style and released the entire thing with a proper online multiplayer experience, it would have been a game that would attract a massive player base and could go on for years as an active game._
_Nonetheless, props to the person/team working on this, it's still early days but it already looks incredible, can't wait for the final product!_
Just tried this myself, it feels absolutely incredible to control and looks incredible to boot, so excited to see where this goes! Can't wait for Online to be implemented.

I like the small detail that non flight characters can use the flight rings still, it just doesn't make them fly. I want more of those kinds of reactions, like maybe a non speed character when they hit a rail will bounce off and have a small trick opportunity

When I saw Metal City, I breathed in more than usual.
Further suggestions (some of which you may have considered)
- Remastered soundtrack (check out AshZone's cover of Splash Canyon; it's the same feel, but it breathes new life into it)
- Custom characters and boards (either Sonic Forces with extra flexibility, or with flexible modding in case programmers have a crossover idea)
- Custom tracks (similar to above; using an interface or mods)
- Custom music option (helps personalize racing for more engagement; playlists?)
- Reverse tracks (think WipEout's Amphiseum; the same, but different)
- New tracks (if you could put the track in the intro animation, it would be a dream come true)
- Nerfing Auto Slider so no one cheats
- Online tournaments (not just online matches; offer prizes, maybe)
- Story mode with the original anime style (may be s stretch, but I'm brainstorming)
- Original turbulence graphics
- Maybe some airbrake mechanic similar to WipEout
- Definitely work on those pro shortcuts! Like the one Tails couldn't take.
- Check out WipEout and perhaps Kirby Air Ride and F-Zero for inspiration. Especially WipEout.

I like how they remade the game graphics and textures but to me the camera might be a bit strange since originally it would zoom out Slightly after doing a high charged jump off of a ramp but other than that it looks amazing!
Sega needs to Remake this game. This is one of my personal favorite Sonic games. I was only 5 years old when I was playing this so much.

Personally I think this is a great idea, but having actually tried it myself, It's far from perfect. and I'm not saying that's bad either, I understand it's a work in progress. In particular one thing I've noticed is the rail speed is beyond too fast. meaning major adjustment is needed to pull off the tricks, as someone who played the original and flipped out when I discovered how to even use the rails, flying off due to a mistimed jump is equally as frustrating as my 10 year old self felt lol. Major props for the progress made so far tho!

Want my sonic riders back so badly. It was unique and made sense for Sonic as a racer, Mario had karts, Sonic had hoverboards. It was perfect and then Sonic free riders happened and now they think this series is a failure. Team sonic racing is fine but it's basically Mario kart imitation, Sonic riders was VERY unique from all the other racers at the time and to this day, still haven't seen anything like this game. I just want Sonic riders to make a return.
