I have one. I love it. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to adjust and easy to clean. I have two friends that come over and we have what we call cut up party's. Everyone should have one of these if they enjoy cooking. I have sweet potato chips making now. Can't express how much I love this gadget.
1. The manual clearly states how to use the smaller knobs for different cuts, don’t just wing it. Slicing- only adjust large dial Matchstick- adjust large dial (7 works) then unsnap Knob 1, turn a full 360 degrees then snap back in place Julienne- adjust large dial (2 works) then unsnap Knob 1, turn a full 360 degrees then snap back in place Dice- Follow slicing directions (6-8 works) then unsnap Knob 1 OR BOTH Knobs so blades emerge, depending on the desired thickness of your slice, then snap back in place. Load your slices you just made back into the chute vertically = dices 2. Why 30 cuts? The large dial is #0-8 but there are mini clicks in between each # that represent even more variation. 3. 6 cuts= Dial setting 1-3 thin slices, 4-6 medium slices 6-8 thick slices Julienne, Matchstick, Dice
I don't own one, but I'm ordering as we speak...I sliced my finger a couple of years back by a mandolin, and I've been traumatized ever since. This is a Godsend!
first you make slices then feed those slices back in the feed tube and select one or both of the julienne blades (depending of how fine a dice you desire) and run the food through again. Works well - and no mandolin can do that!

It would be very helpful to learn how to set it to make the different slices.
