Be me 2023 Valve is hosting E3 promoting the new "mind reader" Steam auto buy feature. Everything is going well, when all of a sudden... The lights go out and the huge room-sized screens go black. It's Morgan Freeman: "Some say the world isn't ready for what needs to be said...some will refuse to listen." Flashes of high definition, state of the art land and cityscapes overwhelm us. "Some will protest, never truly being happy...but still we fight on." More images, more vibrations. "What you will decide and the actions you'll take...will change everything." A distant distorted female voice bellows "Goorrdoonnnnnn" Now the room is growing louder, a few excited gasps arousing from the collection of confounded critics. "And now, we must finally answer you....answer your call...." Everything goes black and silent. A long pause in darkness is interrupted. It's G-Man "It's been a veeerrryyy long time, Doctor Freeman. We hope we haven't kept...you...waiting." A lambda symbol slowly fades in to focus, this time the number 3 embedded in its design. "But it's time to wake up....wake up...and...finish...what we've...started." Suddenly the roof of the building explodes upwards revealing a thundering sky. A dark globular shadow eclipses everyone inside...all too shocked to speak. A blinding spotlight illuminates the shadow, revealing a 20 foot spherical Gabe Newell. He's already eaten all of the participants outside, and now he's come for you. I suspect the reason there hasn't been any recent James Bond games is because Activision (who at least partly holds the video game adaptation rights) decided focusing all the FPS development resources on churning out Call of Duty games year after year would be a better "bang for the buck" then trying to adapt a James Bond movie. Twisted Metal was a franchise I quickly grew to love in the mid 2000s, and being the game franchise that really kicked off the driving sub-genre of "Car Combat" games, we haven't seen a new entry since February 2012. No Time to Die comes in April 2020 though...
@@solarstrike33 I'm being dramatic, you know, with the whole gender/race swap...
John Titor You do realize Daniel Craig is still on with Bond, at least early on right?
With that being said, we’re still out in the dark if that theory turns out true or not.
Imagine if Duke Nukem Forever hadn't been released, Half-Life 3 would be number 2.
randy bitchford strikes again. lol
lol yeah. To think, to this day it could be considered a FPS legend like half life. Now, all most people remember is a bad game.
Duke Nukem 3d was a masterpiece.
@@mistertagomago7974 That it was, after playing wolfenstein and doom on demo or shareware discs back in the day. Man I miss those dics, there was always the demo to some good game on there.
@@700gsteak It actually wasn't Randy's fault, it was many years of exhausting burnout for 3D Realms; since the Jace Hall 2008 footage of DNF didn't look too different from the final build of the game.
On a Larry binge and loving it
Goddamn you Larry, every time you upload I end up watching at least 60% of your other videos!
"Let's Have A Look At Castlevania."
*shows a clip from Silent Hill*
Me: 🙃😂
Well, Half life: Alyx is now a thing. Larry, can your next video be about how Mother 3 never got localized? K thanks.
You are an npc.
Larry you magnificent SOB, Valve Just announced a new Half Life title, a VR one of all the bloody things in the world lol like you pushed them just that little bit enough to finally put SOMETHING OUT lol
Koji Igarashi - the guy who meant practically everything to metroidvania Castlevania titles - left Konami entirely in 2014. He helped co-found ArtPlay soon after, and released Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night this year, which is fantastic and gives Castlevania SotN a run for its money, showing he's still got it. Konami, meanwhile, at least does not appear to care a whole lot about making another *proper* Castlevania game; we have a mobile game now in Grimoire of Souls, but you know how much fun it is to try to play a 2D platformer on a phone.
Grimoire of Souls was like the monkey paw, except when the fingers curled, it was as big middle finger pointing at you. "They made a new Castlevania again! And it's a classic 2D style! They even got popular composers and character artists from previous games! And it's...on a phone." Seriously, the fact that Konami never even released it on anything other than like phones and iPads, instead of offering it as a downloadable console title or something like Steam, not to mention what they gave people in the form of new Metal Gear and Contra games, it really just feels like they're trying to fuck with old fans.
If only Larry had waited a little less than a year before posting this, this Half-Life wouldn't have been on this list, since Half-Life: Alyx released in 2020.
