I am right handed but strongly left eye dominant, so centre shafted putters have been a game changer for me and alignment. So happy to see more options like this coming to the market. Can't get on with the weird looks of LAB putters, so to see traditional shapes that suit many golfer eyes, but with a centre shaft, is a huge deal for me personally. Great video!
I am the same RH but left eye dominant. My putter is a mallet but not centre shafted. I am not a good putter but I find my best results is by closing my right eye
Great putting! I agree with the prediction that this line will be huge. They really bring it all together with the toe up balance and counter weighted shaft. Pair those with a new, more forgiving AI face and the familiarity/pedigree of Odessey and it can likely become the best selling line of putters to date. I feel like they should give LAB a kickback for drawing so much attention to the science of putters recently. Callaway is taking full advantage.
Nice review. I almost pulled the trigger on a lab putter a while back but their virtual fitting had me at a different shaft angle and would require a custom fit and more 💰. Couldn’t justify spending $600 on a putter, so I held off on the purchase. Fast forward to the square to square release. Tried out the jailbird yesterday and came away impressed enough to buy it. The store where I got it had received six square to square jailbirds and had sold five of them in the first week.
Hi Andy, I have 2 putters sitting here, and both have the curved sole. Odssey Red Ball and PXG mini gunboat H. I love the Red Ball, because you line it up through the "target" so repeat the exact same setup every time.
Had a spider x in the bag since they came out, been considering a LAB but didn’t like the forward press or the price. This may be a contender, I’m a great putter but always looking for that little bit more..
Andy, I just tested the Square 2 Square and found an unbelievable problem. If you test the putter on an indoor putting green you’ll find the two set screws on both sides of the bottom of the putter quite sharp and slightly protruding. The problem is, it catches on the indoor green material. I thought it was weird so I looked at 10 different putters at the Golf store and found that every one of them has this odd protruding couple of set screws that catch. This would be unsettling on an actual green, where these set screws could catch on the grass and prevent a flowing motion when putting. I had to hover the putter, which, by the way, is actually a better form when putting, but not always easy to do. Can you please check this and let us know? I’m a true LAB Fan, and actually own every iteration of their putters. They are Great!!! Lowered my handicap by 6-7 strokes. But I did really like the feeling of the Square 2 Square when tested, in spite of the sharp set screws.
It would be interesting to put these putters into the LAB revealer…but despite of the result the price point of the Odysseys is really exceptional! Chapeau Callaway/Odyssey 👏👍
We just buy the previous item that is recommended within the last six months and then we get told to dump it and buy something new. Whether it’s a driver or a hybrid or a putter, we can’t afford to keep up because we don’t get everything for free. And the prices are ridiculous.if we buy this putter then in springtime, something new will come out and will be told to get rid of this. We just can’t afford it!
Been testing the S2S Mallet for the last 2 days. Yeppers I'll have one 11-26-24. Replacing my Heavy Putter Center Shaft & Even Roll. Great putter. Soft off the face.👍👍
Great to see, especially the price point. I like my current Odyssey putter a lot, but I will definitely look at these when I get around to replacing. Mine was an earlier version (not latest -- last few years), so it doesn't have a few features like adjustable weights. It is a 7 model and does have the insert though. The insert is one of the features I most like. I also am used to the 7 model's alignment. I haven't tried Jailbird. I do like the PXG Allen also, but at this price point and currently having an Odyssey 7 putter, it may be hard to switch out.
Wow luv the way you demonstrated the blade putter model, I personally a blade putter. I look forward to your next video of comparing blade putters regarding the zero technology. Thanks.
I’m very interested in trying and buying a torque free style tech putter but it’s very hard to find them to try especially the LAB and PXG putters and the Evenroll zeros are hard to find and they are very expensive. These will be in many shops all over the uk. Easy to try and at £100-150 cheaper than other torque tech putters I’m very keen to try.
Agree 100% - I think Callaway will make a killing with this line of putter. I’ve not long purchased a Ai Rossie, if only I’d waited. By-the-way, nice putting, on 🔥
I have a cheap putter and it works just fine technique is more important than any putter I have ping putter old school it works better on undulating greens.
How light does grip pressure need to be for zero torque to have any effect on face rotation? I think it's more about a feeling of stability than any real benefits from zero torque! These putters from Callaway have seriously wetted my appetite to try something different so thank you 👍
Be great to see a new series around some Chip-r and putters. Some many of us average golfers miss the green and the struggle to get down with a chip & Putt ! Maybe some practice drills to follow ? We all spend far too many hours on the range and this year I’ve seen it far better to practice the short game to try and drop some shots around the green.
@theaveragegolfer Do you think the AI-One insert also gives it an advantage over LAB to give it more consistent distance? Does LAB have a similar technology built in? I think you hit the nail on the head Callaway's price point is affordable and you can still modify shaft length, lie, shaft type, and grip without an additional $100 uncharge just to have those options available.
Personally I like the feel and consistency I found in the Lab putters, the insert in the Callaway is the white hot face which golfers may be familiar with but there is no advantage
Have you tried the LA Golf putters? I would be interested to know how they compare to the various "zero torque" options. I have hit a few puts with one, and really liked it, but baulked at taking it any further due to its ultra premium price. These new Callaway putters are less than half the price of the LA Golf.

I liked this review. I recently obtained a PXG Allen and its taking some effort to get used to it. Inwish these had come out earlier because they look easier to adapt to than the PXG or LAB putters.

Wow, dropping bombs from everywhere. I noticed this too at the store today. Putting was automatic. Jailbird Square 2 Square is the new bread and butter standard of putters. A lot of putters with be going up for sale or going in the basement in 2025.
Hi Andy, was looking at maybe purchasing a PXG Allan putter, but after watching this video I’m leaning to the No 7. Always liked the look of the Ai Odyssey milled versions. I’ve had putter lessons and have always had a slight forward press. What is your advice?
Nice review Andy. So disappointed they aren’t offering any in left hand versions. I’d have ordered one already if they had. Any idea if they will bring one out?
I really like the LAB DF3 and their new OZ is interesting, I want to support LAB as a small company. But the LAB putters are too expensive compared to what Callaway can offer with these putters.
Well we now have the biggest putter (by market share) company Odyssey, introducing a new product that endorses the sole technology USP of the LAB brand🤔. So indirectly Odyssey is saying LAB is right🎉 Therefore Odyssey’s entire traditional (face balance, toe flow etc) putter range is NOT THE BEST PUTTER TYPE to help you roll the aimed target line.😂

missing the 'off the beaten track' course and stay reviews a bit ... the core of this channel for me, tech stuff & swing tips not so much ... personal opinion of course

missing the 'off the beaten track' course and stay reviews a bit ... the core of this channel for me, tech stuff & swing tips not so much ... personal opinion of course
I post them every Monday evening?
If you apply some logic you will realise it’s is impossible both financially and logistically to travel continuously, there is a diverse range of content on this channel for golfers, let’s not forget we are not all built the same.
@@TheAverageGolfer in combo with tech yes ... I just noticed that I tend not to watch the whole video anymore these last couple of weeks when it's not all about the course ... where as I did when it was simply about the course and the stays, accompanied by some great music and views ... it got me - and I guess a lot of us - through some very wet winter and even spring months last year ... I thought you might have been interested in all feedback, growing the channel
@ the diverse nature of the content has seen the channel grow faster than ever before, the travel content is the least watched, so yes appreciate feedback but with respect data also tells a story of what content works and what doesn’t. As I said the content is to appeal to the wider audience and not yours or my own preference
pretty surprised about that since you started the off the beaten track series about a year ago and the comments from your viewers were pretty much the same : great stuff, genious new approach, ... I was under the impression that this was what grew the channel ... but hey, the statistics prove otherwise apparently, in fact it's even the content least watched ... no worries
Yet another wonder putter guaranteed to sink every putt. Let’s see it on a downhill right to left, not on a flat green.
Yet another viewer who fails to listen 🙄 cheer up bud it’s Christmas 🎅🏼
@ Why not tell us to Practice, Practice, Practice with the putter we have. Not implying that you can buy a better golf game.
LAB Putter shaft position….Callaway jumping on board someone else’s tech with their older styles that are 20+ years old. Snake oil
This is not new tech
I was curious till I heard the part about 289pounds.
what a joke - rh only
LAB wanna be
You need to dig out your old high school physics book and review what zero torque means. Then stop propagating the manufacturer's mis-use of it.
Too busy holing putts 🤡
@@TheAverageGolfer Being dumb is below average
You've got to be kidding! This is putting for christ sake! Just roll the ball to the hole. The amount of "technology " needed to do that job is fk all. Golfers will believe and buy anything!
You clearly need no help Kevin, keep up the good work
Nothing new with the tech, Seemore putters have been doing the same as these putters for the last 20 years. Not debating the benefits but its old tech and nothing new.
See more putters are NOT zero torque putters Greg 👍
@@TheAverageGolfer I know pal, i was referring to the ones you were testing, they are not zero torque either, thats a whole different tech. Seemore work on the same principal as these do.
@@gregcarnall9097 why are these NOT zero torque? Callaway would certainly say otherwise
I’ll stick to myScotty Camron blade thank you very much.
Only RH 🥲
