Have really been enjoying this game and LOVED this play through, especially when you (rightfully) got so pumped towards the end. Keep 'em coming, Mike!
Yes, definitely my favorite playthrough of this game :) The way Mike plays through the game is so engaging that I felt pumped up too by the very end of the playthrough
The mechanics are a bit deeper in Sector, but the replayability seems better with Castle at the moment, with the various extensions. Anyway, the art is amazing in both games. Actually I just ordered Castle few days ago. I’m waiting for it.
@@jerrieljiji2321 awesome! I hope you enjoy it. I'm in on the Sector expansion Kickstarter, which should equalize the amount of content in the two games.
@@OneStopCoopShop From the manual: Reload: Choose a weapon card in your inventory. Take the number and type of ammo dice indicated by the ammo value and place them on it. If doing so would exceed the ammo capacity of the weapon, take only as many as are needed for it to be fully loaded.
Basically. You can freely exchange items and weapons before or after any card, so "ownership" isn't super important except during an encounter or fight :)
I like the choices and implications you have along the way. Is there an advantage to tracking health on the paper? It seems like tokens or dials or anything else could work as easily without being disposable.
Oh, it's just what came in the box. A 12-sided die for each character, or 2 d-6s, or the little skull trackers from Escape the Dark Castle would all work just as well.
Fun game! I love the retro style (look like old Battletech books) and quite dynamic gameplay! Btw if i may ask: As we know all or near all board games are multiplayer, what was the idea of the channel? Co op and solo only? i'm just curious and i hope i'm understandable that was a tricky question to ask in this foreign language ;)
We love cooperative games (I design them with Peter from the podcast), and none of us tend to like competitive games as much, so it’s kind of the niche we carved out for ourselves.
@@OneStopCoopShop Thank you for the answer! I'm one of your fervent subs from few month! keep up the good work! I do love the board game universe but i have difficulties to play all i want. Co op or competitive i don't mind, i like rich and complex gaming. Perhaps too much ahahah for my own good.
At 15:15 or so, even though Smith rolled well and removed 2 dice from the bad guy, wasn't there return hit/damage before the choice on the card was made?
@@OneStopCoopShop Nope. I was wrong. I JUST saw it in the rules. You got rid of ALL the bosses chapter dice. So there was no life in it to inflict damage on you. Pg. 18 and 19 explain that since you've gotten rid of the chapter dice you successfully defended yourself. Best defense good offenses. Sorry for the mistake, my bad.
I can't get past the art for either this or the original. I've played Castle, and it's ok, but would never choose it over one of the many other co-op games that don't look terrible (art is subjective, so my opinion only here).
It's very retro. If you ever played the old Fighting Fantasy or Battle Quest books you'll be familiar with it. It's definitely aiming for nostalgia value, as an 80s kid who loved Deathtrap Dungeon and such I love it!
Art = Hard pass. Shame, but the amateur art is a brutal turn off... like I can draw better than that. It looks like a print and play that somehow went retail... without any upgrade.
I certainly couldn't draw it, and my family and I really enjoy the style. But no worries! To each their own. Art is certainly going to be subjective, and this one I expected to be more divisive than most.

This and the castle look awesome definitely have to pick them up
Hope you have fun if you end up getting them
Great playthrough. Really loving this art and styling. After seeing Forgotten Depths, these kind of story games are really interesting to me.
Yeah, they won't appeal to everyone, but they are fun romps without much rules overhead.
love the art style. reminds me of dark dai (manga)
I enjoy it too, though it's definitely not going to work for some.
This play is awesome as well. Thank you again.
Thanks for watching! Which did you prefer? Sector or Castle?

I didn’t know about the Sector expansion! Thanks for having mentioned it! I’m going to take a look at it!
4:50 you can reload 1 gun to the maximum, not just 1 die. Awesome explanation and playthrough, btw!
Are you sure about that? It says you can take 1 reload action after each encounter for free, and I thought reloading only added a single die?

Oh man, nice catch! That’ll make me slightly more likely to have protracted gunfights!
When drawing starting weapons, do you draw cards equal to the number of players and decide who gets what?

Congrats, that last role was soooo stressful! 😅
Right!?

GG Mike!
I just got the three expansions for Escape the Dark Castle. I guess I'll get this one later ;)
I’m hoping they do the same for this one. It’s a bunch of fun, but I want cultists and space aliens and other wackiness!
At 15:15 or so, even though Smith rolled well and removed 2 dice from the bad guy, wasn't there return hit/damage before the choice on the card was made?
When a character rolls the double icon inside a shield, that means they deal damage with no retaliation from the enemy. I got lucky :)
@@OneStopCoopShop thanks!! Trying my first play tomorrow!

seems good :)
Any other OCDs upset, that the characters are inverted in the health chart?
Actally didn't your team die? You didn't get any shields so didn't Tanner and Smith die as they killed the mother of machines?
Shhhhh!!!! But you are probably right

No worries! Art is going to appeal to some and not to others. I didn’t like the art for dungeon degenerates, but some people love it.

It's got an 80's 2000AD look too. Brings back a lot of good nostalgia.
