I came here to pay my respects. Steve was the best of Smash Mouth and his vocals made Shrek that much more special to us kids. Thank you for all the memories Steve, you were most certainly an All Star! ❤

Zach is an amazing vocalist. Just saw Smash Mouth in Boise and during Walking on the Sun he hit and sustained a high note for over 20 seconds; no wavering, no warbling, it was absolutely PERFECT. I was totally stunned by his talent and stage presence. They were all great performers. Very fun concert, go see them!

I think the new singer fits in well, but as others have mentioned, it just isn’t the same without Steve. The world knows this song because of Steve’s voice and it’s unfortunate to see him suffering lately.

He almost sounds like Steve to me. I know a lot of people will say he is WAY off, but I don't think so. If Steve's vocals for the song are a 10 then Zach's in number for matching would probably be a 7.5. For some people it would never work without Steve or an exact match to him.

Zach is a great vocalist, but just like everybody else, it’s just isn’t Smash Mouth without Steve.
That's how I feel. I don't think any band can ever really replace the original singer. The new singer isn't bad or anything, it's just not the same. I don't mean to be disrespectful but they are basically a smash mouth cover band at this point, the bass player is the only one left from their astro lounge days.
I met Steve about a year ago, he was an interesting man to talk with. He thought the band sounded “like shit”, after watching this video I’m inclined to agree.
We talked several times before he passed and was frustrated with his health problems. I was sad to learn of his passing.

Honestly, Zach Goode adds to the list of great frontman replacements. As a live performer, I think he’s actually better than Steve Harwell himself. He’s got better vocal technique singing, and he has a more bright, confident stage presence. When it came to the studio recording of “Never Gonna Give You Up” (Rick Roll), I actually didn’t know it was a different singer. Not to mention, for Steve live in both the present and past, being drunk has overridden his control when singing or speaking. Zach live, on the other hand, appears sober, and gives the crowd moments of uplifting interactive speech. Steve will remain the bigger icon and face of the group, but Zach is the improved lead performer.

Zach Goode is pretty damn impressive as lead! Damn! I just wish they gave All Star some immense bass in the "Hey Now" drop during All Star, so that it hits with a huge punch. it sounds too thin live carried just by that single bass guitar pluck.

Was planning on seeing them pre-pandemic, and they’re playing somewhat locally to me again but I don’t really feel like seeing half of Smash Mouth with a substitute front man.
They are playing at the stanislaus country fair near me. Been debating big time on going or not cuz of the new lead singer. Feel like its seeing a cover band didnt realize they had a new lead singer but, could also be great so i dunno.
@@samanthajones9345 I’ve heard that Steve is in rehab but I think their official website says that he’s having health issues. According to Wikipedia Steve has retired due to “ongoing health issues.”

Ghoulspoon is one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
