  • We remove the entire sewage plumbing system from the RV to make way for a much nicer composting toilet. We also remove unwanted and outdated devices from the roof and patch all of holes!

I want to know more about the decision for a composting toilet vs. black tank! Less weight? More eco-friendly? Easier to manage? Great video 😊

Yes, good call! There were a couple of reasons we chose to go with the composting toilet over the standard. First and foremost, we really wanted to be rid of the (used) black tank! The idea of needing to find somewhere to regularly empty that, and otherwise carrying it around with us was not something we were too interested in, either. With the composting toilet, you can dispose of waste anywhere you would dispose of a used diaper or dog poo bag. It just felt so much cleaner and tidier, and something we could dispose of more often. We'll also never have any toilet issues within the RV, because it's all contained within the unit. I know many people don't want to deal with sprinkling the wood chips and emptying often, but that sounded so much better than the black tank to us :) I guess we'll see once we're on the road and actually start to use it! Again, thanks for calling this out and asking the question - we're trying to get better about going more in-depth about these things in the videos!

Great video! Love seeing the progress on the motor home! Have you guys been thinking about where to go first once it's trip-worthy?

Thank you! We actually haven't really started to plan or think about our destinations, just been focusing on getting this thing built and ready first so we can actually get on the road, haha.
