I did not agree with ANY of the negative reviews I've seen either before or after I saw this film myself. I enjoyed this film immensely from the opening credits throughout the movie and thought it was chalked full of great performances! Even Saleka who seems to be getting unfairly ripped but she plays a young artist pretty close to how I expect they would act in this same situation with less warmth and emotion than everyday people. Even M. Night himself did a fine job with his rather small part. Look, I loved this film, and I want to go back and see it a 2nd time in the theatres.
@@psychopath1970 Thanks for your awesome comment! I agree with you. Fair enough if someone doesn't like the film but the insisted declaration that it is trash and the devaluing of Saleka in the name of nepotism is entirely unfair. Nepo or not, she was good, that's it. It's a well made, silly but fun and intense movie far better than many of the other films I've seen this year.
@@nabeelmirza6060 Yes exactly! People forget film is a visual medium for some reason. The directing is so strong that yes you enjoy it in spite of its flaws. People are willing to enjoy Avengers Endgame due to how exciting and emotionally satisfying it is even though it has some major flaws in its writing during act one.
I'm glad you loved it! I'm seeing a lot of negativity thrown its way as usual with Shyamalan's films, you love them or you hate them I guess. They're never perfect, but I love him as a filmmaker.
This film has the usual problem that most of Shyamalan movies have and that is the third act. First and second act are amazing and Shyamalan proves how incredible he is as a filmmaker, but in my opinion that ending is just bland. Amazing Josh Harnett, I’m glad he’s back on the game, because he’s a super talented actor and working with Shyamalan can only help your performance. What a heck of a director he is.
I thought the film was ok, it was a genius concept on paper but the execution was very lackluster. There was just so many plot holes and things that didnt make sense and then M Night's daughter randomly became the main character in the second half for some bizarre reason. I think she's a good singer but she just randomly became the main character in the second half of the film.
It was so over the top I viewed it like it was a comedy. I enjoted it even with its plot holes and flaws. I thought Cooper was extremely cunning & I hope there's a sequel.
Josh was great but the movie was goofy. Bro is a serial killer and the SWAT team uses taser guns on him even when he brutally attacks another agent? lol Also, loved the ending where he`s left unsupervised in the cop van so he can easily escape for the 10th time in the movie. I was really hyped to see this but what a disappointment. Could`ve been great but some really cartoonish decisions ruined it. 5/10
It was 20 minutes too long, they could of made 3 basic changes to the movie that would of improved the plot and the flow of the story. I have never been to a film showing where people got so bored they started talking and going on their phones.
@@odysseyfour1997 she was an ok singer but not very good at acting. The movie felt like a cinematic version of those moments when your friends is showing you his son and how cute and cool they are, but you just don't see it lol

hes a serial killer outsmarted by an NPC wife and a singer.its shocking that he killed 12.and if his wife wanted him caught why she didnt give the agents a description?trash movie. made to promote his daughter.
Can't think of someone who enjoys this movie for real, and specially can't think how anyone would think it is a good movie. It had me heated in embarrasing. It was a pathetic and shameless commercial for her daughter and her musical career development. Awful acting from her, ok acting from Hartnett, one long song after another with the only role of making you listening to that songs. Deus ex machina everywhere, when he finds the keys in the apron, with the shirt vendor, etc, etc... I love Shyamalan cinema, but this was pure trash.
Thanks for your opinion but to call it trash? I can't understand that. Too many elements of the filmmaking are operating at a good level to call it trash (cinematography, production design, concept, the funny pulpy story beats).
Since when are people wrong for liking a movie? Movies are art and art is subjective. Don’t hate on somebody’s opinion just because it doesn’t line up with yours.
I can fully understand how someone could find it difficult to buy the plot contrivances but there are too many good things here to call it horrible, ie. the production design, acting and cinematography.

Average movie. Solid 6/10. I felt it was mostly just an excuse for the director to show us his untalented daughter.
