Thanks a lot for this wonderful backround on this album, I find your videos superb, even on albums I have no interest of purchasing I simply enjoy learning a lot about Jazz and the artists.
I had listened to Jazz music since 1976 and had never heard of or read anything about John Wright. Then one Sunday afternoon in 2019 this album popped up on my UA-cam feed and I instantly fell in love with it. I ordered a CD boxed set that had his Prestige albums that was available and all of them were great. I really don't know how such a great talent like his got lost in the shuffle but I'm glad he's being rediscovered now. Great video. You've got another sub.
As I’m streaming a lot of the various jazz reissues (and learning a lot!) this album sticks out. It has a lovely bluesy piano trio sound, and bears repeated listens, as also said by our host. It doesn’t quite fit into just calling it a jazz album, I would probably place it in the “blues” section if I had to pick. Loved your thoughts and thanks for the suggestion here!
That's such a great record. Excellent presentation. It's also available on a 2-CD set of John Wright's music. He played on Arbee Stidham's TIRED OF WANDERING.
I believe your channel would really grow if you added some of the more main stream older pop and rock titles from time to time for review. Ever thought about it?
Played with John for 5 years before he passed. Powerful player. Great guy.
amazing!!

yes indeed, and between this reissue and that of Nice N Tasty by New Land Records, it seems as though the momentum may continue!
Great review 👌

Enjoyed this video and it's a really nice record, love it.
Just sold my original in a collection. This is in the mail right now
Actually there was an early 90's OJC LP mastered by Gary Hobish (OJC 1743). I have it.

It’s worth considering for sure… I guess I only have really ever bought jazz on vinyl but I do love all kinds of music
@@jazzvinylcollector As a predominantly Jazz vinyl collector as well, I appreciate the focus of the channel.
