Travel limited on Pelican Island Causeway after barge hits bridge

The bridge connects the north side of Galveston Island just west of the Port of Galveston with the south side of Pelican Island.

How tf did the barge get over there by the bridge like that? Sounds like a way to build a new bridge that the funding wouldn't typically be there for.

Whoa, what is it with all these so called "accidents"? How many years did those barges pass through there without hitting the bridge? Now we have multiple accidents across the USA. What gives?
