    Nice vid! I have Keith's, and when he showed me how to use them, he also mentioned that sometimes it's a good idea to put some pencil lead in the nut grooves for those two strings, in order to help them move. Keep the vids coming!

      @@MasonCroneMusic saw your comment on the video. I had to delete that video because it wasn't the right one and reupload it. but no we don't have a banjo player right now. That's one thing we're missing!

    Very nice bro! Hey, how much does your banjo weigh? Is it heavy?

    • @MasonCroneMusic
      @MasonCroneMusic  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! It's probably 10-12 lbs. It feels kinda heavy but I don't think it's heavy for a banjo.

      Does it have a metal tone ring? As you can tell I'm trying to get me one 🤣

    • @MasonCroneMusic
      @MasonCroneMusic  3 роки тому +1

      @@kalipcole7195 It has a rolled brass tone ring which is different than the tone rings on expensive banjos, but it's still a tone ring. It's a really good banjo, especially for the price.

    Hi, I have a question. I have D tuners on my B and G strings. After watching this video, I was successfully able to set my B string to an A note, no problem. Then I tried to set the G string to F#, and it’s like the set screws aren’t stopping on the correct notes. The screws stop on a note above and below, but they’re always like two whole steps off from the G and F# notes. The screws are tight, the peg button is tight, I really can’t figure this out? Whenever I disengage the set screws and just use my tuning pegs as “normal” tuners, my tuning is always spot on. Any idea what is wrong?

      Man, I really don't know. I've had that problem before as well. Usually I can get it after a few tries. This may be a pain, but what I would do is just take note of how far off it is each time. If it's consistently off by the same amount you could just tune it too low/high depending on what it does, and it should be right when you use them. Like I said, it's a pain but it's what I've had to do when mine do that. And if it gets off by different amounts each time, I really don't know. Wish I could help more.

    Have you ever thought about using cheat a keys I think that they are easier to tune

    • @MasonCroneMusic
      @MasonCroneMusic  3 роки тому

      I honestly just don't like how they look😂 They do stay in tune as long as you don't mess with them though, which would be easier. For me, having these type of tuners and retuning them each time is worth it. The Cheat-a-keys cover up the designs on the headstock and I don't want that! It's definitely a matter of preference though, most people don't to seem mind the Cheat-a-keys being bulkier.

    I didn't know that I'm suppose to have tuners. or do I? 400 subs!!!!! 100 more till 500!!!!!!!!!!

    • @MasonCroneMusic
      @MasonCroneMusic  3 роки тому +1

      You don't have to, they're just for the "tuner" tunes. They're nearly impossible to play without them🤣 Yes!! I'm so excited about 400 subs.
