  • In the past, I’ve shared several videos related to solving electrical problems. But they were segmented - some on electrical fundamentals, some on testing techniques and a few on reading schematics.
Today on the Trainer, we’re going to put them all together on a real-world customer concern. Are you ready to put into practice what we’ve learned so far?

    Dear sir:
You gave a very wonderful, very clear, very understandable lecture ..
This is my first start with you .. It was really interesting ..
Personally, I am hard of hearing and I do not speak English well, although I understand well in writing. So I relied on the English title to understand what you were saying and with quickly show 0.5!
I will follow you up closely ... Thank you.

This is a beautiful presentation on putting a solid electrical troubleshooting foundation to practice. If I can get a tenth as good.

Hi in your last slide when operating the switch your current isn’t showing any flow if the ecu is operating and switching on power to move the motor and you said maybe the motor is stuck if the motor is stuck surely there would be an excessive current draw if there is a path to ground out through the motor so I take it there is no connection intermittently through the brushes to the armature hence the reason there is no current flow on your scope pattern am I understanding this correctly thanks Del.

Great point and one I should have been thinking of more clearly. IF the motor was mechanically failing but electrically intact, I should have seen a flat-line current draw on the scope screen. Way to catch the mistake!!

I do and have used it as another source of information. But I stress - "Test, don't guess". Make sure that you verify the problem is a match with whatever source you use before you replace a part or perform a repair.

Mitchell 1 offers a variety of software solutions for today's shop. ProDemand is separate from the others and would require a separate subscription. Best to contact them directly and see how they can help you. The link is in the description.
