The chemistry between them is evident. I just learned today that they have been a couple for over 16 years. It's like this song was written for these two.
I met the LOVE of my LIFE @ 16, he was 21 and 52 years went by, two marriages/divorces and kids later we are testing time again. I loved and missed him all my life
Daniel Robinson Eleven years!! Yeah, why YT put this up? Makes you wonder....what they’re NOT showing.....especially during this BLM climate. Ya know?!
Great tune. I have always loved it. I love the line “I hear your name in certain circles and it always makes me smile “ I have been there before and these lyrics are so perfect for that feeling.
She's a paradox. The prettiest voice in country with all those Grammys running with them British Rockers like John here and Robert Plant. Love Zeppelin, Bad English and The Babies. Love her so lovely.
Back in the day and now.🤙🤙🤙🤙💯. Loving hearing this now in 2024.❤️🌹Happy Memorial Day to everyone.Hope we are all able to reflect no matter what our age is that there were so many gave that gave their lives for OUR COUNTRY.😇🕊️
Still brand new year and decade 2021..one of my all fave 80s songs..what a perfect combination..some bluegrass and rocking drums..loved it here in the Philippines..👍📀💿💖🇵🇭
This is one of my all time favorite songs! Love both artists and this version is a nice collaboration, but John Waite's voice, and the original version, is just so beautiful and unique!
My friend turned me on to Allison and her band Union Station. This is a great collaboration and a real surprise. She is truly a wonderful songstress...
One of my favorite songs of all time. I'm so please that the cover was just as good and John participated! Alison and John made audio magic together! I use to live in the United Kingdom when then song hit the carts back in the '80s. As they would say, Jolly Good Show or as I would say, Well Done!
Two of my favorite singers together. Mr.Waite you have matured very well.I used to sing all the Baby's stuff, some of the things I still love after hearing them for years and years. GREAT
I gave it a "Thumbs Up" because it shows the feelings from both sides of the breakup. What I would love to hear is a version with John and Tina Turner. Tina covered this song. Tina would add the energy and emotion like the lead female singer who was dueting with John singing "Everytime I think of you" when he was with "The Babys". Unfortunately, Tina is no longer with us. Maybe, someone in the industry to do something akin to what was done with Natalie and Nat King Cole dueting in the recording of "Unforgettable".
Oh my .... this was one of my favorite songs long ago and even though I've always been a fan of Alison Krauss, I had no idea they had a version of this song together! Amazing.
The music video of John Wait singing this song solo when he was young is great. Him doing this song looking 20 years older. I like the sound better in this one. I mean i love it.
Allison Krauss is I swear sings and looks like a angel love her in everything and especially when she does a duet with another artist and such a great fiddle player who else agrees with my opinion of this angel.
At 12, I loved this song so much, but I asked Mum why he wasn't missing her, when it seemed like he did. I was so confused, and she explained that he's just telling himself he's not missing her, but he really is. It was the first time I discovered the unreliable narrator and poetic meaning. It made me love the song all the more! Every time I hear this song now, I think of Mum and that she did pretty well for a non-romantic!
I remember this song from the eighties, very nice song. And this version in duet with the very talented Alison Krauss, one of my favorite country singers, is beautiful.
Fabulous....listening to this again....was my favorite song back in the day.....still love it....even more with Allyson Krauss singing with him....they sound great together.....😇
It actually feels like a married couple of performers who've been separated for a long time but just can't quite bring themselves to pull that final trigger and let each other go. Alison has become a succesful, major producer who has agreed to oversee John's comeback album and just can't resist the urge to duet with her ex on a single that best expresses their feelings for each other. Despite whatever differences there are between them, they can't deny that the chemistry's still there. Feelings that were never really extinguished were rekindled, sparks fly in subtle glimpses, pitch and tempo changes and wordless but meaningful conversations between their eyes. Memories are shared, laughs are exchanged and good times replace the bad ones. In the end, they share an amicable good-bye and prepare to go their separate ways, but halfway to his car,John says to himself, " Screw it, I'm still in love with her. I'm going to ask her out. What have I got to lose?!"
Thanks to the two of you for giving one of the greatest memories of my life. I had a long distance relationship for 2 years and we are together today and this one of the songs that we exchanged.
Absolutely GORGEOUS! I love this song and cover that they did together. And can I just say how AMAZING Allison looks I mean Goodness I have been a fan since Im a child the woman NEVER ages shes just as Beautiful and looks just as young as she did in the 80's!!!
The chemistry between them is evident. I just learned today that they have been a couple for over 16 years. It's like this song was written for these two.
I was like wow, no way!!! A couple?? Um, Wikipedia needs an update or correction. Yeah?
I hate this version of the song. It sounds too cookie cutter. I prefer the original where he sounds way more emotional. Here they sound bored
Well, in this case, all my best wishes to them!!!
@@andrewgarfield9898 they don’t look bored

Dunno why UA-cam recommends this after ten years, but I ain't complaining.
I just hope Allison Krauss didn't die.
Likewise.

She has always had the voice of an angel
Her soft gentle voice compliments his raspy tones. So beautifully arranged, well done Alison Krauss & John Waite. X
Well acted in the video
