That looks like a road Top Gear used in the past! Stef, I've been thinking about this for a bit and I believe we're looking at your next car right here! If that's the case I would love to have the rear wing extension if it can come off without damaging it, gotta ask. I hope you do basic mods to the 124 as well, check out 500Madness here in the US🏁🇺🇸
Right on my doorstep. Folks sure do love that stretch of A4069 to test out their cars and bikes. Regularly zoom over that stretch myself in my own 2 seater for giggles.
Heh a lot of the good stuff...is Mazdas doing. The core of this car is an MX5. Abarth just added the tinsel (and a fabulous engine/exhaust and made enough changes that I can fit in more comfortably)
Steve Miller in the us the 124 spider and the abarth both have almost the same hp when in the europe the base 124 spider has like 40 less hp than the abarth

I use to have a 2013 skoda fabia vrs (132kw 250nm) use to floor that thing everywhere, it was small and unrefined and fun. i know if i take my 240i to the track i'll really enjoy the car alot more, but driving around Sydney its hard to open it up as much. Also drinks fuel pretty hard.
As the former owner of a “legacy” 124, that so-called “infotainment” display, not to mention the burrito exhaust tone would be deal-breakers for me. Otherwise, the new Fiata, is a tonne of funne. 😜🇨🇦
Honestly mate, I can say that video recordings do not do the spider any justice. The sound when you hear it in person is unreal, it sounds closer to a v6 than it does a ricey inline 4. It's throaty, guttural, and sounds great straight piped. I actually bought one of these while I was waiting at a red light (in my Miata, no less) and just the idle and take off on it was awesome, I went to the dealership pretty much a week after for "just a test drive" and end up walking out with the keys to a 2019 Abarth 124. Long story short: it's better in person.
Know what you mean ! I was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of a blue one at Brands last year and it took less than a minute to gel with it. So easy to fling around. Proper old-fashioned sounding too.

This video took more than 10hrs to film in freezing weather. I drove for 3hours to get to that location. Bits you will never see. It winds me up when hero’s just come on channels to criticise. Glad you won’t be back.
There are also spaces behind the seats when you put them forward - not mentioned in most reviews
I think it’s because everyone finds them after they have reviewed the car haha :)

Rhys Dew It’s more like an hour from Cardiff😂. The road is called the black mountain pass, it’s between Llangadog and Brynamman mate!

It can't be removed without taking into account some body work to fill some screw holes that hold it in place.

....and Abarth put on a sexy body that doesn't look like another rounded blob. The MX5 looks... ummm.... boring.
A+ vid. I had a 96 Miata back in 99 and there are days I really miss it. Nothing like a well sorted, light weight roadster on some twisties.

Um...they're more expensive in Europe
US version is a different spec I believe and not as good as the European version

Is it crazy to say I want to get rid of my 2018 m240i and get one of these. I won't yet. but I miss small fun lightweight cars.
