This show never should have been cancelled! This was one of the best shows and I really wish they would bring back Ugly Betty with the same cast!
I agree. It's one of television's best kept secrets/underrated shows of all time. So many great actors, great writing, great performances and surprising guest stars.
It’s amazing how Vanessa remembers all of the crew, knows what they’re doing and how they are 10 years later, and can credit the particular writer for a particular line.
Wilhelmina, her character, could do. 😊

God, I'm sad and crying all over again at that loss. That horrible, meaningless, culture-robbing loss. Never met the guy but wish like crazy there was some way we could all reach out to him in time.
As a young trans women being 21 years old . It was so empowering as a young child seeing someone like alexis and justin on a tv series ! Really did help me with my journey ! 🥺

It makes my heart actually hurt that this show was cancelled so early. It is one of my all-time favorites. Just finished watching it again. What a great cast. I just love them.

I think she's looking YOUNGER!!!! I love the way she enunciates every word. Very refreshing, in an age where most actors mispronounce and mumble every word. Really, her speech was so right, for portraying Claire Mead, a 'comme-il-faut' Park Avenue grande dame.

This show was a pioneer. To see a Mexican family in that time and i think there was a lot of satire towards the Fashion Industry. Wilhemina was amazing and so was Marc! To be honest all characters were brilliant, Hilda, Betty, Justin etc.

I swear when Betty was hugging all her family members to leave to London, I swear I almost wanted to cry!! I just started watching the series a few days ago and finished all the episodes and I already feel so connected to them. PLEASE MAKE A REBOOT
I was in London July 2018...I had to stop off at that same square where Daniel into Betty.

I just finished this series on hulu and I dont think there is a comedy series like this out there or ever will be. This was an amazing tb show, all the episodes flowed so naturally and it never got stale or any episode felt like a filler. Like Eric (Daniel Meade) said in an interview, if this show had been cancelled in the social media era, this show would still be on tv. imagine all the tweets and posts! There would be no way a show as inspiring and creative as this one would just be buried with no fight! I really think this show could be revived for many reasons, one being everyone still looks the same lol. Where is netflix when you need them??? I dont know how to feel as I wont see these people playing those characters ever again... im so used to seeing this show after work and this show never failed to make me laugh, especially those intros lol and "maaaarc!"

I was really irritated when CBS decided to cancel Ugly Betty...I'm guessing that the show was expensive to produce and that was the primary reason. Reality shows are less expensive and easier to produce...but the outcome is horrific.

I am still not over of the way the show ended. Not a single kiss for the main adorable couple? Betty and Daniel were the sweetest ship ever. Developed so good and smooth! We really need that show back. #UglyBettyIsLove
I actually love how the show ended. I think it makes their relationship so much deeper that they focussed on other aspects of their relationship together. That Daniel would never be fulfilled if he was still confused. He needs to focus on him & Betty needed to focus on her new life. They weren't at that stage yet. However, I love the idea of a continuation where they meet up again and they're both at the right stage of life. They are who they were meant to be and now they're ready for each other. It could be so beautiful. :)
Exactly they could've given us so much more with Detty! I hated that they waited until the last 2 episodes to develop their relationship in a romantic way...
@@vbrandy7088I think they’d planned to get them together at the end of a 7 year arch. And the show’s cancelation is why there wasn’t enough time to flesh out Daniel/Betty. But the foundation was lain.
@@inesalejandra2868 Yeah but they knew going into season 4 that the show was getting canceled and that it was their last season. So they could have definitely made some adjustments by starting to develop Detty romance at least half way thru the season.
If you want a ship with a smooth development, you should watch Judith Light (Claire Meade) in "Who's the Boss?". 😊

I just want to say, that the character of Justin and his gradual coming out was something that really resonated with me. i was 11 when the show first aired and i was just beginning to find my way with my orientation and having such a visible young LGBT character on screen was really comforting and i saw a lot of myself in that character, the drama, the fabulousness but with the hint of reservedness least someone should come to the realisation i was gay (Having them probably already know) And Marc's killer confident was a massive help to me as well so thank you to all involved at Ugly Betty and thank you ATX for bringing back the cast of my favourite show!

I was like YES EXACTLY Eric !!! Lol I'm still salty we never got to see the romance between Daniel & betty ugh...
*sigh* there's always ONE person missing from the reunion. None the less everything this cast said about behind the scenes and their chemistry is pretty much exactly as I imagined it and I really do hope we get a 2 hour special- as Ignacio said they REALLY don't make shows like this anymore.
For me personally the early 00's was the Golden age of TV now in a world of Game of thrones and House of cards shows like Ugly Betty with MINORITY FEMALE LEADS who aren't perfect or skinny from and have a working class background that just happen to be absolutely hilarious simply cease to exist but I'm so happy I had it in my adolescence I really didn't realise how fortunate I was. What almost makes it more painful is you can see how much they all miss it- the success of any tv series is down to the chemistry of the actors and the crew and this is so clear in the interview that they truly were a family I'm not surprised some of them fell into depression and if were being honest for everyone on that couch Ugly Betty was the highlight of they're careers maybe minus Wilemina but it deffo put her bk on the map- they never found that chemistry again on a set they never struck magic again those 4 years were some of the best working years of they're lives and you can see it so much :'(
It will always have a place in my heart viva la Betty I love love love everyone sitting on those sofas thank you for the laughs, the comfort and the memories your are so so missed! xx

@@carlosalbertoguevaragalarz6125 Agreed and if they would make Betty and Daniel a true pair, then they would have sprinkled a will they or won't they scenes throughout the whole 4 seasons. This way, you just knew that Daniel would miss Betty and is trying to get back in her life with the notion of a possible love.

I'm 14 and I can remember my Mum watching this when I was little so I started watching it a few weeks ago and I've fallen in love. This show now means so much to me and I' on season 4. I'll hold this show close to my heart forvever and I am dreading the end 😭😭😭

I can't believe this is over 10 years old !!! I'm now watching this with my 12 yr old and 9 yr old daughters, I love how my daughters loves watching Ugly Betty and we really want a Ugly Betty to come back and to see how their lives have turned out after 10yrs .please please please make this happen , everyone in the cast is lovable in their own way !! I laughed, smiled and cried the whole way through this. This is a cast and show I grew through my teens watching and felt and still feel very connected to. It’s all very emotional - they all seem like such wonderful people.
There is still no movie..3 years later. They seamed really serious about making it again. So sad😭
Well, it had to be more than just them being on board with it. Also, toward the end of his life Silvio was going through so much and may not have been able to come up with what would have been needed. Now that he's gone, it may never happen.

the fact that America said during the panel that "some people up there suffered from depression" after the show was cancelled and Silvio Horta was among them is really sad.

It baffles me that Ugly Betty was cancelled after only 4 seasons...
The ratings dropped like a rock after Betty cheated on her boyfriend. The show never recovered (if memory serves). It could have been been cancelled after the end of season 3, but they decided to renew it again, but move it to Friday, which the night where all the shows would go and die before a pity renewal. Most would only last one season and then they'd be cancelled.

@@Rayan-qy8mg Probably because its not relatable. Betty was suppose to have a higher moral compass but she developed into a vapid character and the vapid characters developed and had more soul. Thus Betty became a hypocrite and the other characters became sympathetic.
@@MrAkaacer again, it’s just a tv show. None of it is real. Also, I preferred the new Betty, Betty in season one was such a doormat. In season 4 she was still full of heart and kind, but she new how to stand up for her self e.g. to mark, Wilhelmina. Also she became prettier lol
@@MrAkaacer The show was ahead of its time. It was the only well known American tv show to focus on same-sex relationship. Same-sex marriage was a detable issue back in mid-2000 and Americans were divided on that matter until California legalized it during mid 2007/08. So it wasn't just about the moral compass of the show character but its the politics involved in the show.

I would happily offer a list of about 100 quotes for them to choose their favourite from. Season 4 had the best Wilhelmina quotes by far, my absolute favourite being "Is this a creative meeting or The Price is Right?"

Over the holidays I had time to finally catch up on the show properly and dived deep into it.... All the seasons 1 to 4 and to the final episode with Daniel meeting with Betty by Travalgar Square, London makes you really wanna know what will happen next!
I was very young when Ugly Betty was airing and my parents watched each episode as it came out. One Christmas Eve we were driving home from Christmas service at church and my mom turned in the passenger seat to ask my sister and I “Girls, would you like to watch the Peanuts Christmas Special?!” And she said it so sweetly and with so much charisma. I remember today at age 22 sitting in my car seat and at maybe age 5 saying “What about the new episode of Ugly Betty?”
I’ll never forget the look on my mom’s face. I don’t think she had a single clue that I was at all aware of what she and my dad watched on TV at that age but they watched it so much that I remembered the show name and at age 5 knew how to sight read the word “ugly” and the name “Betty” from seeing the opening theme so many times over!
(I don’t really think I retained any of the story though and I’ve been technically watching it for the first time with my mom. Back when I was little the only faces from the show I remembered as I grew older were Betty, Daniel, Wilhelmina, and Marc but during my first official watch all the cast’s faces came back to me except for a few. It was like meeting old friends lol!)

I remember watching this show Thursday nights with my mom. It would be Ugly Betty, Greys, and then Desperate Housewives. I was always sent to bed before Housewives of course, but Thursday nights were some of the best memories I have with my mom.
I started watching the show after Mothers Day this year. I lost my mom three years ago the day before Mother’s Day so it’s always a difficult time of year. This show brought back memories and a new light to my life. How beautiful to see the cast love this show as much as me and my mom do!!! ❤

I watched the first episode 10 years ago and was hooked! I loved it and was so sad it ended.
I love this show with all of my existence because i literally looked like her in middle school around the time the show got really popular and kids bullied me and called me ugly Betty! Seeing her made me confident to not care what anyone thought and i would just be like ok cool and then they stopped because it didn’t affect me.
