My entire family, including my husband and my son, abandoned me when i committed to following Yehoshua and walking in Torah. I have been walking with Yehoshua with no family and no friends and God has been faithful every step of the way in helping me. Is it difficult? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely!!
Yehoshua is my everything and i am waiting for His kingdom because in His kingdom i have a place and a name....a part in His family, His people who love righteousness and truth. We must be ready to even lay down our very lives for the sake of the Gospel. Yehoshua did this for us. The kingdom of God is that valuable!!
    Follow Yehoshua

I’ve always interpreted that scripture as though the dead representing the non followers of Torah
Hence the man saying let me go bury my disobedient father.
So the hesitate follower wanting to bury the non Torah father, they won’t be saved from the second death
The living word is an amazing lifeline

14: 07. What Yeshua meant by "Let the dead bury the dead."
is, the recently called man's family had not been called, so they were Spiritually dead, and they could bury the father in the second burial.
And Yehovah's calling was that much more important.

More to the point is the probability that the 2nd ritual is a pagan ritual that once again, rabbinical traditions violated the Word of God. Probably, the words spoken at this ritual were full of false claims that Torah does not say; even contradicts. This is the atmosphere we're reading about in the NT. Rabbinical laws were not just benign; they violated the Word of God. So this ritual was probably no different, full of false claims that Torah does not say or forbids altogether. Those who participate in following rabbinical traditions that violate Torah are spiritually dead. So letting those who are spiritually dead continue in their pagan rituals is what Yeshua is saying; but His followers are to forsake those rituals. This understanding is what His ministry was all about. He continually violated pagan rituals or rabbinical laws. He was telling the man to do the same.

    • @bmjjjja
      @bmjjjja Місяць тому +1

@@nickylouse2 I think it strengthens my point. What WAS a simple request probably became a pagan ritual centuries later. Like many rabbinical laws, you will find words spoken or prayed that are complete lies. For instance, the tradition of lighting candles on Sabbath. That tradition has a prayer that contains a lie. Yah did not command the lighting of candles for Sabbath. It is simply tradition and there is no need to lie about it. That small lie becomes a jumping off place to lie about a lot of other things as they do. The kosher status is another one. "Food" (animals that are designated clean to eat) are already so and don't need a blessing from a rabbi before they can be eaten. Too many people trying to play god.

    @ 119 Ministries,
In regards to Christ's statement of letting the dead bury the dead. Respectfully speaking, believing he was referring to dead bodies worrying about another dead body is ABSURD. This would contradict Christ's own words in John 10:35 "scripture cannot be broken." Ecclesiastes 9:5 tells us "the dead know nothing" so how can dead bodies have any dealings with another dead body? Christ statement was literal and regarding him being on Earth (1st and 2nd coming.) Christ is the only way, the truth and light so when he's on Earth all who dont follow him are spiritually dead. So the man was faced with either following Christ (who was on Earth) or not following Christ and going with those who are burying his father. Those not following Christ for any reason, are spiritually DEAD, and they are gone to bury one who is physically DEAD.
    Peace

I think the word hate in the bible is to be interpreted as liking less in comparison. Thus, we should like everyone and everything less, compared to God. Even though we should love our family, and obviously our neighbour.

I read this as: let the dead (in spirit) bury their dead (in spirit and physically). Because their focus is not on life (eternity) or a path that leads to life (eternity) I dont believe Yahushua was telling the man or others to not care or not bury their loved ones. I believe Yahushua was saying that to let the guy and us readers/Believers not focus so much on things of this world but place our focus, time and attention on the Kingdom of Yahuah. Which is why Yahushua continues His statement in Luke 9:60 and ends with “but go thou and preach the kingdom of Elohim.” Saying to the guy but unlike others, You, go and preach the Kingdom of Elohim.
Though Iam not sure, the man kinda seems to be using burying his dad as an excuse to not attend to the calling of Yahushua.
Also throughout Scriptures burials were mentioned but there wasn’t a long drawn out focus, time and attention on death and burial. After the death and burial the children of Israel still moved forward. Yah gives us time for many things (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8), but we mustn’t let those things be prolonged, we mustn’t delay our time, attention and focus to serve, honor and glorify Him with the time He gives us.
On another note please very careful and very leery with the use of the talmud. Stick to the True Word of Elohim!

Of all the commands, honor your father and mother, is the one command messiah seems to contradict the most. This isn't the only place he does it directly or indirectly. We can try to explain it away like this video does or many others I have listened to. With some type of historical context or temple talk. IMO that should be the last place we look to explain the scripture we read as all of that has changed over time.
Messiah is trying to reveal something to those who would SHAMA the words he is speaking. When we become baptized we die to our former selves and become a new creation. Our former families become obsolete, and our new families are those who are ALIVE in messiah. I use ALIVE because anyone who doesn't come to messiah IS "dead." A term for those who live for the second resurrection. We however, live for the for first resurrection (alive in messiah.) Matthew 12:49-50 (another place he seems to contradict commandment #5) He's just revealing to us the seriousness of baptism. You get baptized, like he did, our Father is now YHVH and our family are those who SHAMYR/guard the commands.
Why this is hard to grasp is because we find ourselves in a place where our elders have dropped the ball. In most churches, even Torah observant ones, bloodline families take precedence over their spiritual families. Thus removing one of the foundation stones to our gospel and fruits of baptism. Anyone who has had their family completely turn on them after coming to messiah knows what I am talking about. Anyone still holding on to their bloodline family isn't fit for the kingdom. They covet their old lives. Where are the churches that act like families?
I am alone where I am at, and made a fellowship/ministry in hopes to find my family. So we can relocate and be a family together and hasten the return of our Elohim. Please message me if you are in need and we can plan together. Like families are supposed to.

Not a new concept. As Brad Scott always said ... The NT or Brit HaDasha is not new .. it's just true.
In the blessing of Levi in Deu 33 we see they disregarded their mother, father, and bretheren for The Word ...
Deuteronomy 33:9 NASB20 - Who said of his father and his mother,
    ‘I did not consider them’;
And he did not acknowledge his brothers,
Nor did he regard his own sons,
    For they kept Your word,
    And complied with Your covenant.

You’re making the same mistakes the Jews historically made and looking at these scriptures in an ‘elements of the world’ type way.
The dead is your ‘old man’ … your flesh nature…your self before being repentant/ born again/ following Jesus.
It IS NOT his physical family.
Jesus is about love. Treating other people with compassion, kindness.
What Jesus is saying is that when you’re truly repentant you TOTALLY walk away from your dead old flesh nature.
You don’t say , ‘well let me go tie up loose ends’
Example: ‘let me go have a heart to heart nice dinner with the lady I’m having an affair with to take care of this.’
NO. Just walk away from that sin
    Or
‘Let me sit down and relax with a drink while I figure out how to quit my alcoholism’
NO. Stop it and walk away.
‘Giving up everything you have’ is about giving up ALL RELIGIOUS worldly ceremonies etc
There’s NOTHING you need to do to follow Jesus except LOVE people. When you love people maturely and deal with all life issues with mature love you follow the behavior that Paul spoke about- not lying, not fighting, not being selfish, self centered, etc.
I feel like this video went WAY in the wrong direction. It isn’t important how Jews or anyone else physically bury dead people. Jesus would NEVER say walk away from respecting your parents or family with a proper burial upon death.
He’s talking about something INSIDE YOURSELF.
Walk totally away from your dead old flesh nature and don’t look back.
Follow him by loving God and your neighbor. Strangers, elders, homeless, ANYONE.

Yeshua was and is not only our Savior's Hebrew name, it is His only name.
Proper nouns, names, do not get translated.
Why would He have 2 names, and one of them of a nation totally against His teachings and Way?
    He would not.
He came as a Hebrew speaking Hebrew to Hebrews.
    He has 1 name.
His name is not a Greek word.
    His name is not Jesus.
His name is not Jesus Yeshua.
His name is not Yeshua Jesus.
    🌾His name is Yeshua🌾
It is to insult Savior Yeshua by calling Him by a Greek word not associated with Him.
The Father Yehovah commands His name be not made vain - of no effect. Refraining from calling Him Yehovah when speaking or publishing is to transgress His 3rd commandment.
So doesn't it follow our Almighty Father is offended when people call His very Son by a Greek word not associated with Him?
    Surely.

Get out of here with this bs. For starters many aren't even 100% sure if the hebrew name even is yeshua or if it's yehosua. Secondly, the original manuscript of the Gospel of John is written in greek which calls Jesus "Iesous" which is the Greek name for Jesus. So does Apostle Paul in His letters.
Every language has their own translation/transliteration of a name. Almost no christian speaks Hebrew. Jesus is God of everyone not only Jews.
If you want to get even more technical, you can't say Yeshua either since that a name which uses the latin/english alphabet. You need to use this ישוע instead of the english version.
You need to get out of this brainwash. Jesus is just as valid as yeshua. When I called out to Jesus He responded...
