April 30 is a new moon, weather permitting it's the perfect time to shoot the Milky Way. It will rise from the east between 12mn to 5am. To shoot it you need to have a camera that can shoot in manual mode. Set it to the widest aperture preferably f/2.8 or faster, ISO at 1600 and exposure between 15-30 seconds - adjust mo lang exposure accordingly. Happy camping, and enjoy the stars! Viewscape is a great place to stargaze. ❤️⛺️
Hello Sir! I’m using a Sony a6500 with app installed intervalometer for shooting. You can do the same with any camera that shoots in manula mode. Just set it to max aperture possible, preferrable f/2.8 atleast then set ISO to 1600. Just play with your exposure nalang 10-15 seconds or as high as 30 seconds if kailangan. 🙂👍🏼 hope this was helpful.
@@aldrinotraveltv4883 Photos captured in a set interval time. If your camera does not have timelapse mode you can look into an intervalometer that can connect to your cam they’re not that expensive naman. 🙂👍🏼
Hello! 👋🏼 just over the weekend nakadalaw ako. Got to visit Eden and Malagos, really enjoyed Malagos I wish they would offer or open campgrounds for the public. Do consider opening a campground Sir.. Saan area ninyo doon?
Great video. I'll be there with my family this weekend. I just hope it's not too crowded, or worse, have noisy inconsiderate campers. Is it constantly windy there?
Hi Kenneth, thank you. Not as windy na daw lately sabi nung kakilala ko na madalas dun, you might see him with his astrophotography gears. 🙂 So chances are high na may sea of clouds narin during sunrise. Pero be prepared narin for gusts of wind or scattered showers. Tie you guylines nice and tight. Go early so you can pick a good camping spot. Enjoy your time with family at Viewscape, perfect time to stargaze ngayon - new moon. Happy camping! ❤️⛺️
Thank you! 🙏🏼 when shooting time-lapse with stars I usually go for 10-15 seconds interval, depending on how much motion I want in a clip or how much patience I have for particular shot haha! I take 120 frames for a 5 second clip, 240 for 10 -- anything beyond 240 I no longer have the patience for it. 😅 go-to setting: f/2.8 ideally, ISO 1600 then I just play with my exposure 10-15 seconds. Take note (desired interval + exposure = actual interval setting) I hope this will help you capture your next time-lapse project. 👍🏼
Hello Katherine, sorry for the late reply. I got mine from this shop linked below. shopee.ph/Outdoor-Camping-Huntings-Hiking-Folding-Lamp-Post-Pole-Kit-Hanging-Light-Fixing-Stand-i.308142515.4678428807?xptdk=7199aa68-e832-4118-8eec-04c79a898ccc Please verify seller is active before buying. Hello guys! 👋🏼 I'm using a Sony a6500 for video and to capture my time lapse clips. The camera did not come with an intervalometer pero merong app that you can install to capture time lapse. Thank you for watching the videos, I hope this was helpful. 🙏🏼
Hello, Felix. It leaves a spot especially on very nice grassy campsites and it will take a long time for the grass to recover. It ruins the landscape basically. Unless it's a designated campfire spot then it's fine pero sa Viewscape kasi despite of designated campfire bins provided, may nagsisindi parin directly on grass. It happens a lot so I'm not sure if admin knows about it but personally, if we can avoid it by having our own fire pits to help preserve the beauty of the campsite mas-ok sana yun. That's just me, and yes I could have been more specific about it but thank you for asking sir. 🙏🏼
I'm planning to do my first solo car camping soon. But I'm a newbie at this. I just need to know what equipment I should have camping on the mountains. What type of tent, sleeping equipment and other stuff that I need to have. Hope to hear from you.
Hello Kenneth. Thanks for asking, been asked this a few times and I’m working to upload a video about the topic. Anyway, let me asnwer this on a high-level. I would say think of 1. Shelter 2. Comfort 3. Food. Shelter - tent for sleeping and tarp for a place to hangout on a hot sunny day, or when it’s raining. Comfort - folding chairs, a mattress, a sleeping bag and maybe an inflatable pillow or any small pillow. Food - to start just keep it simple muna so essentials are kitchenware and a cookset to heat your ready to eat meals. Have a feel muna during your first camp, although I would suggest if you think you want to do it regularly get gears that you want na that’s within your budget. Decathlon is a good place to start, or online mabibili mo na lahat ng kailangan mo. Focus on the essentials lang muna then build your gear as you go. 🙂 Please feel free to ask if you still have questions. 👍🏼 ❤️⛺️
Hello, Jaime. Thank you for watching! 😊🙏🏼 The tent is currently selling for 5.6k sa Decathlon, but if I recall correctly I got mine for less than 1k its current price. Nagtaasan ang price ng tents nila. Thanks for planning to watch my other videos, I appreciate it. I hope you’ll enjoy them. Stay well and God bless! ❤️

Hi Mike. Your videos have inspired me to at least try basic car camping. Also have a fortuner. Did you change your rubbers to ATs? What size pls? Thanks.
Hello Nico, happy to hear these kind words, thank you I really appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the outdoors as much as I do, it's a great way to disconnect from everything else and reconnect with our self. 😊 Regarding my tires yes, running ATs now. I just go with the stock tire size, since I'm running 18"s rims I have the 265/60R18. For the lower trims on 17" it's 265/65R17. Aside from these sizes being readily available, para hindi narin maapektohan driving feel mo and fuel economy. I have the Yokohama G015, but any brand naman basta AT should be good on any terrain. Check out BFG K02 also, that's what I have on the Jimny instant pogi din. 😁
@@mike_penaranda Maraming salamat. Already tried the KO2s sa pickup before and was too hard for me. Maybe because of the payload rating. Will look into those Geolanders as I heard mas forgiving sa comfort levels hehe. Will stay with stock 265 60 18s since not planning to lift naman. Salamat ulit and God bless bro.
@@Nico-kz6sg Ahh nice, so it is hard nga.. I couldn't tell if ride lang ng Jimny yun or the tires, thanks for confirming this. 😅 Now I know! Yes the Geolandar I can say rides close to stock comfort, lalo na if you run it with the recommended tire pressure very comfortable on the road, and it's not noisy also. Sa looks naman maganda na for me kahit stock size gawa ng side wall design niya rin. I hope you'll find them ok like I do, these are all based sa personal experience ko lang din. Thank you again bro for dropping by the comments, hope to see you around sa next videos or better yet maybe in one of the campsites in the future. 🙂👍🏼 ❤️⛺️
Hello Leion! Sure! I’m using a Sony a6500, nag-install lang ako ng Timelapse app sa camera so I wouldn’t need an intervalometer. Any DSLR or mirrorless kaya naman as long as may manual capabilities ka. Set your aperture as wide open as possible preferrably f/2.8, exposure 15-30 seconds at 1600 ISO. Lens ko wide open is f/1.4 so I can do 10-15 seconds exposure. Just play with your exposure and keep ISO at 1600 as much as possible. Let me know if may tanong ka pa, pls feel free to ask. 👍🏼
Solid! Ask ko lang sir yung mga list ng items na nadala mo dyan para I’ll add din to my list to buy from decathlon. And kung may CR ba sila dyan? Hehehe anyway, sobrang ganda ng content mo sir. Ingat palage ✌️
Thank you for watching, Sir! 🙏🏼 Mostly essentials lang like cookware and for comfort, chairs and inflatable bed. Of course shelter tarp and tent. Yup, meron silang CR dito sa Viewscape.. Happy camping! ❤️🏕
Where do you bought ur Tent? I've been looking for a tent who have 2 compartments. But I found none. Anyway thank you for sharing your camping stories. I was inspired and wanna do a solo camping too💞.
Hello Aiza! 👋🏼 I got this tent from Decathlon, it’s nice and big enough for a living space incase maulan I have a safe place for my gears aside from a tarp. Check this link if you’re interested: shope.ee/9zKfNOsZof Anyway thank you for watching, happy to know my videos inspire you. ❤️ Stay safe out there if you decide to camp solo, would love to know how it goes. 🙂
Hello 👋🏼 camp on a New Moon night you’ll see a lot of stars, even the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye on a clear night sky, you just have to know where to look and at what time. Download the Night Sky app 👍🏼 hope this helps and enjoy stargazing. Happy camping. ❤️🏕️
Malinis naman and on a busy weekend may naglilinis from my experience. Siguro I just hope they put up more toilets and at a more strategic location especially for campers at the tent-only area. Have not been there in a while narin so baka nadagdagan na. 🙂
@@mike_penaranda salamat, my wife and my daughter is not the outdoor type and wants a little privacy and some space kaya I'm trying to look for something na limited ang slots on any given day. My top choice atm is The Preserve Camp in Cayabu.
@@psalmboy_outdoor Saan area niyo? For a first timer I would always recommend Driftwoods for Cavite area, and recently discovered Camp Spotted Wood for Laguna. Check these campsites when you get the chance. If I'm not mistaken affected by the recent typhoon and the preserve.
Hi sir, great vid. new sub here. I also want to try car camping here in Cebu. Any advise (for newbie like me) what equipment or things to prepare, or brands that are durable and easy to set up especially such as tents and awning(not sure tama ba and spelling) and chair, grill (same sayo) and others. - ung gamit ko pala is Wigo (walang roof rak) so as much as possible gusto ko fit lang inside lahat :) Edit: I saw the description kung ano ung tent, chair and tables and other equipment. Thank you sa mga links sir. Can't wait to try it.
Thank you for the support, Adrian. The Wigo is a nice personalized car camping buddy and you can definitely taylor your gear na kasya lahat sa loob. For the grill get this one linked below, I have a generic one but I’be been meaning tk reolace it with this one. About the same size and it’s jjsg right for a nice campfire and the elevated grill is perfect for bbq. shopee.ph/product/670803450/15750180382?smtt=0.229330846-1654521931.9
I use my main cam a Sony a6500 with with an app installed to do timelapse so I don’t have to use an intervalometer. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking 🙏🏼❤️
Hello Erah. Got it here, just make sure you get the anti-sagging feet it comes free. Got one in green na hindi nasama sa pagpack nila, used it twice palang lumubog yung paanan nabend yung poles. s.lazada.com.ph/s.4F8NX The seller recommends this one masmatibay daw. But masmaganda yung colors nung nakalink above 😁 just be careful with it no racking you should be fine. 🙂 s.lazada.com.ph/s.4FQwi Hope this helps! Happy camping. ❤️⛺️
Hello Razon! 👋🏼 I’m using a Sony a6500 with installed time-lapse app for intervalometer functions. For astro timelapse I go with the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 👍🏼
@@mike_penaranda Commended, eto ung inaabangan ko sa vlogs mo haha ung astro part hehe. planning to solo camp soon hehe any suggestion po, BTW compact sedan lang tsikot ko hehe
Nice! Thanks for letting me know.. I’ll try to integrate more of it in the future.. 😊 Cavite area Driftwoods, Laguna check out Camp Spotted-woods and if Tanay worth it parin naman to experience Viewscape iba parin kasi talaga view nila doon but medyo tagilid na management from what I’ve been seeing online. Hope this helps!
Great Vid! Question, plan ko plang mag start ng car camping, dapat ba bili agad lahat ng equipments like ng mga ginamit mo as featured sa video? Or may ma recommend ka na mga pde na unahin lang muna?
Thank you for watching! Wow! That’s a very good question that I hope I can give at least give a good answer to. 😅 But I’ll try - at the top of my head basic lang talaga, think of shelter first. A descent tent and tarp. The tent is for sleeping obviously, tarp is where you hangout lalo na in a place like Viewscape na walang puno. Next is comfort, folding chair, table, mattress and sleeping bag for cold weather, else this can be a pillow during summer time but bring a rechargeable fan naman dahil mainit, possibly. Then food - don’t have to go crazy just a good stove and pan where you can heat ready to cook meals or kettle to heat water for noodles and coffee. Bring snacks. Powerbanks for charging your electronics. That’s it siguro, then build your gears from there. I would recommend you do a bit of research, that’s always helpful. Pick the gears you want, not just what you need perse - if you know what I mean. If you think you really want to do it regularly, which I hope you will find the joy in camping as I do. 😊 - invest in your gear na, so you don’t have to sell and buy “better” or “nicer” gears later on. I hope that made sense and is helpful. Feel free to ask if anything, I’ll maybe make a video on this. I should. 😅 Thank you again. ❤️⛺️
@@mike_penaranda Really helpful! Yep, nag ssearch ako ng top needs to start camping pero superb yung explain mo dito which is mas convincing why I should buy this first or that. Really well guided. More Videos bro! Thanks!

@@mike_penaranda is that video setup po or photos on burst mode every 10-15 seconds?
@@aldrinotraveltv4883 Photos captured in a set interval time. If your camera does not have timelapse mode you can look into an intervalometer that can connect to your cam they’re not that expensive naman. 🙂👍🏼
Have you been to davao?
We have land that we’re planning to develop as an inland resort.
Meanwhile…I’m thinking of renting it out as a campsite.
hi bro. I like ur star gazing. What's your setup and interval time and total hours of Timelapse taken
hi, sir where did you get your lamp pole please. link please. thank you.

Hello guys! 👋🏼 I'm using a Sony a6500 for video and to capture my time lapse clips. The camera did not come with an intervalometer pero merong app that you can install to capture time lapse. Thank you for watching the videos, I hope this was helpful. 🙏🏼

why we should avoid lighting fires on grass ?
@@mike_penaranda This makes total sense. I am now better informed. Subbed.

Please feel free to ask if you still have questions. 👍🏼

Sir may i ask what camera you use and settings for the milkyway time lapse?

Hello, are the stars actually visible at night or is it only visible specifically to the camera?

Edit: I saw the description kung ano ung tent, chair and tables and other equipment.

Ang ganda ng quality ng video mo Sir, what camera did you use po? 😊

Thanks!
