You are right to want to scream because its is beautifull glass. I am glad not to be the only one going mad about glass. It would keep me awake at night. Thanks for sharing Lucky girl ❤
Amazing ❤ mad ❤ girl. So glad I found you. Now I hope to find how to do a small paint touch on my next piece. Thank you for sharing 🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪👋👋from Belgium
Oh Mylanta!! 😂😂😂 That cracked me up! I’m so happy you waited until you were filming to open these because I love your reactions. Thank you so much for taking a chance on this glass and taking one for the team! The closest glass store to me is 3 hours away, and that’s just one way. This is something doable for me. I appreciate you! ❤
😂😂😂😂 i try my best to not be super annoying and repetitive but you guys know me. Glass just sends me over the edge with joy. 😂😂 So glad you got a good laugh and enjoyed the video. I hope if you try it out that you love it too! Its nice to have this as an option when there seems to be so little options now a days. Thank you for watching and for your support.
These are pretty ! Good to know they are nice. How do they cut? As tough as some bullseye? That last box, the brown and green wispy- would make a super Halloween piece. ❤
That transparent glass pack has been sitting in my Amazon cart forever. I'm so glad you did a review on this. I have to buy it now before it sells out haha. Great video!
The outstanding question in my mind is how well does it break on the score? The old Chinese glass was apparently not annealed and tended to break all over the place.
Hi McKenzie, can you continue this video on how well they score and break? I've had some difficulty in some of the glass I bought from Amazon on the quality of the glass. Happy Thanksgiving
Oh im sorry! I put a note on the screen in the video, ive already cut, soldered, & made the pieces with all the glass except 1 sheet! Worked completely as normal!!! Beautiful scores and breaks. Happy Thanksgiving! 🖤
They’re all really beautiful pieces. I love the Lanyani iridescent. I still need to go through so much old stock that I have but I think I can find room for a few more sheets. ❤
I ordered from Amazon earlier today as I’ve just started stained glass (and I’m using most of my money for Christmas). So I’m pretty excited that these got a decent review.
The only real issue I've had with glass from Amazon (I think the brand is called LITMIND) is the area. When you see 6"x4", you assume that's an exact measurement, but almost every sheet I've received was around 5.75" in length. Not a big deal, but it can get kind of annoying when you're trying to get 1-inch pieces out of it. You're always left with scraps that are *barely* too small. These brands just like rounding up. Maybe that's the same for non-Amazon sellers as well. Also, I've worked with a lot of glass like the one you're reviewing at 16:00 , and I always struggle to get good breaks from it even though I'm cutting in the same direction as the grain/waves/ripples (and on the smooth side of the glass, of course). They're such deep ripples that the glass loves breaking in chose channels. I've even had pieces crack in the other direction. It can be tricky, but I'm sure there's a good technique out there for it.
Oh yea totally, those small crappy brand amazon glass pieces is what im refrencing in the video when im talking about the awful amazon glass. So annoying. And I've cut all of the glass/made pieces with everyone except for the last blue and they all cut amazing! No different then any other glass. That glass that looks like the flowing river is phenomenal. But its much less of a groove then a deep true ripple or something.
@@MakenzieHallie I do still love the pattern, so I'll have to look into getting something with subtler grooves. That sounds way stronger and more forgiving. Thank you!
Definitely. Even with the classic ripple you can find certain runs with less deep of grooves and those cut as easy as that wave one in this video. Very smooth. Good luck and happy glass working!!
I donnnnttt think sooo?? But my memory is quite bad. It wouldnt be enough to say for a whole video, maybe a short or something. But let me put that on my upcoming vids list and see how i can make that topic into a helpful full length video. 🖤🖤 And welcome to the glass world!
@@MakenzieHallie Ty! I am trying to figure out what will hold for different weights of pieces, etc. Different points to attach the rings, etc. Thank you so much.
Totally get it. My parents do not support amazon either. And to be frank, i dont love it too. But reality is, the economy taking the turn it did and pricing skyrocketing amazon is just the more affordable and most accessible option for alot of people. Sucks. 👎
Did you have any trouble cutting that blue with the ripples? I have some in yellow and the ripples make it very easy to run when i cut it. Thanks for the review!
Hi Dan! So i have cut every single sheet from this video already, and they were all completely normal!! Crazy. The last piece, that blue textured is the only one i haven't soldered into a piece yet, but score and broke absolutely fine. True ripple is a much much deeper groove than any glass in this video, that one included. But I've never had an issue with breaking ripples. I score and break ripple largely the same way i would most other glass. So I'd say maybe im not the best to answer that question? It felt great to me just like the others. Every single sheet felt very, very normal to score and break. I was truly impressed with all this glass for what it is. Hope this helps! I'd say maybe re assess your pressure? Or something? when it comes to true ripples? Maybe i just automatically push a little harder when im working with ripple and have no idea im even doing it. So i dont have an issue. Im not sure. And thank YOU for watching! Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it! 🦃🖤
This is awesome. I've been looking at these for awhile, but was afraid to try them. Haven't had much luck finding transparent iridescent locally, so I just bought myself an early Christmas present. (I've been extra good this year) Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh, good! Happy early Christmas to you!!! I hope you enjoy it like i did. I think it's absolutely good to know about, esp if you dont have access to those clear iridescents near by. Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for watching. 🖤
I have tried alot of glass from China over the years. When i first tried it, it was thinner and really cheap looking and it broke alot. But...the quality seems to be improving. I'm gonna try it though just to check out the brand. Thanks for the video. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving ❤
No friggin way!!! What a bummer. Damn amazon. 👎👎👎 Boooo 👎👎👎Im sorry man. Id offer to literally ship it to you if that shipping wouldnt be like 32 bucks probs.
Makenzie when you buy glass do you have a project in mind for that piece of glass or does the inspiration come later? I seem to be collecting a lot of pretty glass but never have the pieces I need..
Almost never. When i go in to my normal large haul shopping days its all about what i find to just be beautiful. But i also have a large stock of the basics in every color. So i have my normal iridescent inspiration stored with me in my office. But say i need an, idk, non iridescent pale blue for a custom cat eye, i have that in my basement. So i think building up a stock of those basics in all textures and finishes/brands, white, black, blue, red, green, etc. Then that's really when you can do the fun inspo shopping.
Great video! When I first started I bought my first pack of glass on Amazon. I got the smaller sheets of the clear iridescent ripple glass! Crazy that clear irid ripple is so hard to find, so it's nice that Amazon has 12x12 in that ripple!! The weird texture definitely looks like Morisco! I love glass pattern textures but never know what to use them for. Also wanted to say, the way you pronounce "Yougiogheny " is by far my favorite of all the mispronunciations! 😅 They always say if you mispronounce a word is because you learned it reading it.... ❤ (Yok-a-gain-e) I am very lucky in that Yougiogheny Glass is right in my backyard! About an hour drive. So i pretty much learned with that particular glass. This glass had me in the mind set of "Yok" glass. Anyways... At always.... Great video!
😂 heck no, i say it how i hear all of my older peers pronounce that word in person. So i follow there lead. And same! I miss the days buying all the glass packs from amazon. I was so happy to get these again!! 😂 random brand or not. Ill take it all!! 🖤😂 And thank you!! Happy Thanksgiving!
I think the black glass you had is made by Kokomo - their glass has a little more texture because it's a more manual/hand made production than Spectrum/Oceanside. It's still awesome glass, but if that's not the texture you want then it's not the right glass for you. For US glass manufacturers, Kokomo and Armstrong glass both tend to have more of that texture you don't like.
I wish it was Kokomo! I would not have had an issue with those if so. Lol. Unfortunately, it was a "random" brand from amazon , i think you must have missed that part accidentally. I love Armstrong and Koko, very familiar with all the massive well known and accessible brands! That is not the feeling or texture im referring to. These no names from amazon in the 4x6's or like those black ones- that brand is Illucki, just feel like crap. No other way to put it! Yes spectrum/oceanside, Wissmach, etc are all my favs but that's iridescent alone. 95% of what i work with. Texture aside. But thank you anyway!! 🖤🖤 And thank you for watching! Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate! 🖤🎉🦃
Second piece of clear looks like Morisco Glass
I gotta google it. Its so friggin cool!!
The pink looks like a seashell! Gorgeous glass. The brown definitely for an animal face or body.
The orange one would be amazing for a phoenix bird!

That green blue in the second box and lite blue😍 so beautiful! I will definitely be ordering on my next project.
That blue just blew me away 🔥
I was absolutely so impressed with how good the glass was. Not even just in comparison to what i was expecting.
