I get so tickled whenever Angela is explaining fandoms to Jenna. I just love it and find it so funny. I'm a huge LOTR fan and I think it's even more delightful that Angela & Sam's explanation isn't perfect or working at all. Also Jenna is fully validated in her taste!!! Fantasy isn't for everyone. My mom doesn't understand it either.

Jenna and Angela themselves are cartoony persons already without being drawn in cartoon. Their conversations is just so pure yet funny. Like hearing young children talking. You know, like when young children are talking they never meant to be funny, but always sound funny to the adults. Love it.

Extra funny because when she tried at another point to explain the existence of Hodor in game of thrones she called him "Hordor," so she completely has them swapped.

Dwight's "Heisman Charge" took the Big Man off his feet, and Angela took it like a wide receiver getting a Defensive pile-on without padding or helmet. Thank goodness Angela wasn't seriously hurt, or that story could gotten much sadder much sooner.

I just now discovered this podcast and I absolutely love it.
Angela is so precious. I love her and Jenna, they are women i look up to
I encountered Angela once. One of her kids was playing around and used me to hide from her; nothing really was said and it took me a whole minute to realize who she was because I was relatively new to the area.
When I discovered these clips I didn’t work for five days. I did nothing. I must have watched Office Ladies about a thousand times.

It's easily explainable. Mordor is where the ring was forged and where it must be destroyed.
the movies didn't show it, but Sauron was already a 'person' during the Lord of the Rings, he lost his body in the fall of Numenor but had already gained it back and become the Necromancer in Dol Guldur at which time he had his body back, then he retreats to Mordor and stays in his tower of Barad-dur for the rest of his existence until the ring is destroyed and his spirit rises from the rubble of his tower and fades into the void. The Eye of Sauron as portrayed in the films was an invention for the movie because it would be weird to have your main villain sit in a tower for all 3 films, plus 'The Eye' was notably his emblem in the books so Peter Jackson went with a big flaming eye above his tower to represent Sauron.
it's not difficult or convoluted, everything i've said here is true and accurate to the lore yet just popped out of my head. Tolkien has tons of depth and an epic scale, but is easy to understand and enjoyable to dive into. the books are better than the movies and the movies are some of the best ever made, so clearly the books are the same. one of the only books to out-sell it is The Bible, and almost no one who buys one of those actually reads it, but nearly everyone who buys Tolkien does so to read him, its not what Jenna is claiming here.

From Cincinnati. Married a California girl. Told her I wanted to take her back to Cincinnati for a Three Way and some corn hole. She thought for a minute and said, I’ll do that three way but that corn hole ain’t happening.
