Hiruluk's speech is the exact moment I fell in love with the series permanently. I mean like I already loved it to that point, but that speech really resonated with me.
The Drum Island Arc mentioned Blackbeard's brutality and enormous power, making him a potentially dangerous enemy for the Straw Hat Pirates. Vivi's devotion to the people of her country is shown by how she is disgusted with Wapol's way of ruling his kingdom.
Blackbeard isn't from a winter country as far as the evidence shows, at least so far. The image of him crying as a child that many people think is evidence is a cropped picture from anime credits showing various characters as children, the "snow" is a jagged white panel border. The youngest we've ever seen Blackbeard is on the island Whitebeard found him, which had palm trees and was a summer island. He MIGHT have been born on a winter island but we don't really know. We also have evidence of people born on winter islands who do sleep. @@JoyBoyTheories
I haven't seen anyone else do a theory I noticed which isn't really a theory but a fact Naomi's hometown and Island and arlong treatment of it was an exact parallel for the world government and the celestial dragons and their treatment of all of the member nations and non-member nations. Pay tribute or get abused and even if you are a citizen and paid up they can still crush you at a whim because they are superior and you deserve it as an inferior being. And if you don't pay tribute at all then they are even more allowed to do whatever they want to you when they withdraw their "protection". Both groups are acting like the worst sort of Mafia types demanding protection money and causing damage and harming people that don't pay the protection racket money and making extreme examples of others for defying them or just because an example is needed,@@JoyBoyTheories
I say it every time it's relevant. Yes, Kaido was a potential Joy Boy and yes he'd have tried to change the world his own way if Luffy hadn't beaten him but it's important to know he still believed in Joy Boy. He stayed in Wano, a place he knew was connected to Nika, even after he realized he wasn't the one for two decades. He made himself exactly the sort of ruler Nika would take on and topple & even said Joy Boy was the one who could defeat him. Kaido intended to be the one who triggered Nika's return and he did.
This. This is why I still think we get some sorta kaido flashback in the future. It'll either be something learned from rox or something passed down by oni
Following your point about Kaido being JB's wannabe and knowing himself as incapable of, he stood in wano and shaped it in a way that the real JB himself would appear to dethrone him. Summarizing in his own veeeery confident words: "Joy Boy will be the one to defeat me". Kaido is a hero. And that's why Luffy hates being one of those. Kaido is a The Boys' hero. Would YOU want to be one of those?
Makes me wonder if Avalo Pizarro was the former king of Kaido home country, Vodka? Edit: okay I'm getting sick of the Google voice thing messing up what I said into text.😡
Knowing Oda planned on ending the story after 5 years would make sense that the set up for that ending would have been sprinkled into the story around the time of drum island too. He just kept having more cool ideas he wanted to include and now where almost 30 years in
Crazy to think I could have gotten spoiled on the ending when I started watching it a decade ago. But instead I got to joyfully read this story for half my life
To add to this work: Kureha represents complete confidence in science (like Noland), while Hiruluk represents complete confidence in belief (like Kargara). While in Noland's flashback the answer to he people's plight was to let go of belief for science, the situation on Drum Island was reversed; Kureha (science) gave into belief (spreading the Sakura petals).
Worth noting that by the end of Wano, Kaido was already forgotten about. As the play the citizens put on to close out the arc merely speak of an azure dragon in the metaphorical sense. The villain of their story was Orochi, who ironically enough will be remembered for future generations while Kaido had already been forgotten.
Kaido is treated much like Big Mom, a force of nature. The wrath of the sky and wind. A myth. It's poetic that his dream is denied, but also fulfilled in the same time
I still dont get how people hate Skypiea. I had goosebumps as Luffy rang the golden bell. Everything was perfect. and the filler ark after that (i forgot the name) was the best as well.
Personally I didnt like it but probably cause I was to young to appreciate it Also remember most people watch/read it on a weekly basis and it was a bit slow to start It didn't help that there wasn't a antagonist at the start of the arc Sure it builds up to it but it seemed like alot of lore dumping of the location more then previous arcs did for their locations And most of the characters are forgettable and by the end of said arc Fans probably realized that no characters will ever actually die. Despite the crazy attacks and damages certain characters received that should have outright killed them (Until one a few do later on)
@@ratchetandclankfan2 as we get older, we start to realize how important the first few arcs were. I’m 23 now and I still can’t forget how I started watching this when I was 6. Maybe because I was constantly looking forward to the next episodes and manga that’s why I didn’t really feel that nor can I relate to the dissatisfaction of other fans. I was just happy to watch. I was also watching other animes like slam dunk, hunter x hunter, etc. 😄
It was early in the story. Felt disconnected from everything else. Felt like a long filler arc because of how different it was. Kind of like detour. Its only with hindsight that Skypiea becomes as important as it is. My opinion. As someone that didn't like it at first. Took a break after Arlong Park took a break for a few years. Came back, really felt like Skypiea was a road bump. One that didn't stop.
This also makes a lot of sense because a weapon doesn't have to be used as a weapon. That shows with Franky and pluton! He doesn't want to create to destroy or harm, he just enjoys creating to create
A question came to mind about the ancient weapons, are they a terraforming system? Poseidon(God of the sea) can control Sea Kings and thus potentially the sea itself, Pluton(God of the underworld and the riches in the ground) can wipe islands off the map and thus control the land and Uranus(God(Titan) of the sky) is named after a sky god and thus could control weather and the atmosphere. What if everyone is reading the poneglyphs wrong and ancient weapon means Terraforming control device or something?
To add to your theory about the substitute kings 1:Riley being nicknamed "the Dark King" 2:When Luffy refused the allegiance of the Straw Hat fleet, Zorro took the drink, becoming the substitute king for Luffy. He later reference to himself as "the King of Underworld... Just a theory... 😁
You know... I think Dragon parallels Joy Boy in a way people haven't considered. Joy Boy bet everything on the future knowing centuries of profound suffering and unspeakable horror would afflict the people's of the world. Dragon not compromising his future of liberation for Jenny, his would be relationship with Luffy, Garp's dreams for Dragon, and everyone who died or was enslaved in his time all for the sake of creating a well prepared army to counter the world government is similar to Joy Boy's sacrifice.
My head canon is that none of those "became" nika because they all wanted to save/help people regardless off if they hurt/killed themselves, luffy on the other hand never goes into a fight thinking about the worst scenario he always goes 100% for the win or "im going to save everyone" this includes himself
Choppers backstory is still literally like the best part of One piece. Like the mushroom shit and the skull misunderstanding tied into his identity struggle so perfectly. And the doctors final speech. Nothing in this show has drawn the raw emotions out of me that drum island did. Makes choppers character assassination very sad for me. Hes nothing more than a gag mascot now, but he had a real story. His arc with his identity was just completely glossed over off screen in the time skip.
Imo the sound track that was played in drum island was peak, especially in Hiriluks death with Ave Maria playing in the background. Really hits home the importance Hiriluks speech and character for the rest of the story
Honestly that Manscaped promo was hilarious. One of the best Its up there with Wendigoon's Magic Spoon cinematic universe and InternetCommentEtiquette's promos Loved it. Random note, but felt it should be given. Going the extra mile to make that kind of thing hilarious and interesting is good. 👍 Also, like where this theory is going so far
Whats funny is that when you look at everyone’s last name they relate to drums 1. Monkey D.rum (Monkey Drum is a real type of Drum) 2. Claimoh d (pronounced as clou so it makes cloud drum, a software for drums) 3. Trafalgar D.rum water law (Trafalgar drummers during waterlew) 4. Marshall D.rum (like martial drum/ martial drummer) 5. Rocks D.rum (rock drum or rock drummer ) 6. Portgas D.rum (Portuguese drum adufe) 7. Nefertarti D.rum (Nefertiti drum album by miles Davis) 8. Jaguar D.rum ( Mayan jaguar drum) 9. Gol D.rum (this one is difficult but I all I could fine was Gold drum or gold drum and bugle course)
@@stevenreyes7779 true, it all lines up to drums, lol. I think Roger would be something like "Gold Rum Roger". Lol. Also, The Drums of liberation. Irl Caribbean mythology, joyboy was known to bring hope and happiness to the slaves, through playing his drum, dancing and singing. Could also be damaru, which is a type of hindu power drum, I believe.
I also feel Drum Island/Kingdom is connected to everything. Think of the ‘Wolf’ bridges, named after alcohol (Bink’s Sake hidden reference?), but “rum” is not one of those bridges. Perhaps D. and ‘rum’ are how the world govt hid the secret of D without needing to eliminate the name or island completely (the act of its destruction could have been a reason others would seek to remember it and preserve its history; perhaps initially the WG tried to obscure the information and then transition to forbidding its research after a generation or two) And the other Wolf bridges are an attempt to find Laugh Tale, using those bridges and their origin points like the 4 cross-points on the WG flag. Perhaps the center dot represents Laugh Tale, Drum Kingdom, or yet another name involving alcohol or Binks And now that we know Clover at Ohara had a brother who was killed (at least he says he was?), perhaps there was a 3rd brother… Hiraluk’s hair looks remarkably similar to Clover’s. Or, if Clover’s brother lived instead of being killed, perhaps he fled, changed his hair a bit to get rid of the clover shape, and took on the identity of Hiraluk
Interesting fact: the english word pirate comes from the latin word pirata which derives from the greek word peirates (of course written differently) which means: attempt, experience -> everyone who attempts something, which makes a lot of sense in one piece, where all the pirates (at least the real ones like luffy, roger, blackbeard try to achieve their dreams and every pirate attempts to become the king
Drum island... Drums of liberation... Ruffys power to transform into a giant to play those drums... Blackbeard is a Bucaneer, he has a different Body like Kuma and has the closest connection to Nika (like Kuma he knows about the history/heritage of DF, Nika and the WG). Joyboy or Imu had the same desease as Roger and Bonney (but it was cured due to one of them - only one of them is alive). Thats why the myth about a cure to every disease spread and it explains why Roger knew about a possible cure (thats why crocus probably joined and researched for him).
In water 7 Iceburg says something like ”there’s no way a weapon can save the world” in reference to the counter pluton. But like you said Kureha used weapons but not as weapons. She used them to spread a cure. Friendship with the seakings and the worlds largest ship could be seen as weapons. But they sre obviously also very useful tools for the sake of humanity (all non human races also being a part of humanity ofcourse)
I cant get past blackbeard carrying the will of who betrayed Joyboy. It explains the want to be king and how Teach is part of the D clan, but is markably different then other D's in the story
Just knowing oda meant the story to only last 5-10 years means the beginning of the story must be hiding clues to the end… to bad oda is to good hiding clues and secrets and thanks to the people who try to sort it in order, because I don’t have the time or energy to do so lol. Thanks for the content it’s so interesting
Was listening to this in a Podcast like style while doing dishes, had to pause when I heard that guitar riff at 10:40. Love me some Yakuza Edit: I also love how you had the end of the substory noise when you finished your point!
Hiriluk's son has a role to play. Oden's son has a role to play. But Roger's son also had an important role to play 😮 What are the chances that void century's Joyboy's son also had a role to play and that Joyboy was pinning some of his hopes on him? And as an aside, what if this is inverted, and Joyboy's son's role was in betraying him?
If VegaPunk escapes with the StrawHats I hope he compares notes with Chopper about medicine, specifically about stem cells. If Luffy does develop an incurable disease then perhaps like VegaPunk did for Bonney, Chopper can do for Luffy(or another member of the crew).
Maybe Hiruluk stole the ope ope no mi from god valley, one of his doctor colleagues on drum kingdom ate it and performed miraculous surgeries and stuff, and then used the eternal youth surgery on kureha. Thats the secret to her youth
1000 IQ theory: The initial 'D' actually stands for 'Buccaneer.' It used to be the initial B, but over time people misheard it and mixed it up with 'D'. Oda will make a gag panel out of this stupid misunderstanding and that will be the only justification for the fake-out.
What's important to mention is that Luffy could've had a very similar end like Nolan. At Shabody, when his crew was destroyed, if Kuma was actually a villain and he wasn't just sending people away but erasing them, Luffy also would've died without smiling. Throughout the majority of the story, we see he was willing to accept death when it was just about himself, but not when his crew was under threat of death.
That was a nostalgic one. I vividly remember the 13 year old me alone in his room, around midnight, watching the blossom of the sakura panacea and crying his heart out as never before in my early life till then. Gave me chills.
Hiriluk making fun of Dalton for crying because Dalton realizes what's about to happen God fucking damn it bro. Drum Island flashback was so fucking good.
I thought about Joyboys apology the other day and the theme of OP and how Luffy is happy to help other people achieve their dreams. I think the ancient Nika who we now know basically has the power to make dreams come true, and the theory that believes Nikas power essentially created all the devil fruits to fulfill dreams. Nika didnt want to take away the dreams of EVERYONE and that is why he ended up losing this ancient battle, because someone else had an evil dream to take over. Luffy has shown that he is willing to destroy something if it truly interferes with peoples dreams and so he would be willing to destroy both redline which we all are 99 percent certain will happen, but Luffy will likely be willing to give up everyones DF abilities in order to set the world free, similar to how Luffy destroyed Arlong Park because he wasn’t fulfilling Namis dream of charting the world, but instead “using” her for his gain, the same way the devil fruits don’t achieve dreams they are just tools to be used. Sorry for rambling i hope that makes sense
best format of the best. more of these. :) liked the metaphor "the drums are frozen" a lot. at this point it makes sense to me, that you are right, luffy will be the closest to joyboy. however since this is a shonen there has to be a substantial difference between those two; one that at the same time puts blackbeard in a different perspective to the reader. the only one I can think of that wouldn't 'downgrade' luffy would be that nika was a slave from the get-go. It is somewhat obvious nika had maybe even more dedication to his promises than luffy does. ultimately nika has to have somewhat of a huge "flaw", else he would have succeeded. nika could have been so simple, that he simply trusted the wrong people (which would lead to a 'character flaw' or somewhat) like your videos so much, especially the speculating ones. Terrific. :)
This is what I think happened and Joy Boys era, he was the prince of the ancient Kingdom not the king itself, he had a young sibling I think and he asked them to do them a favor and take his place as the next ruler, because for him the flag of Adventure was beckoning him and he must heeds it's call, he found himself a crew and went on adventures, but the ancient Kingdom had one fatal flaw, they were living Dr Vegapunk Dream, think of it like an ancient internet if you will, with that a certain six characters use technological info pulled from that to create two out of the three ancient weapons, Pluton and Uranus, and with that and them uniting with other kingdoms, is when the ancient Kingdom fell, Joyboy basically did the same mistake as Oden, only worse now that his country is gone, and that's as far as I can theories on what happened.
JB I HAD NO IDEA WHO HAD WRITTEN AN ENTIRE GRAPHIC NOVEL!!! I read the premise for the Booms and it sounds awesome!!! I'm gonna be ordering it soon. Wish you nothing but luck moving forward!
Drum kingdom has so many foreshadowings to the Ancient Kingdom and Nika. Hiruluk -> Joyboy, Kureha -> Imu (Kureha's old age could hint to Imu being immortal). Chopper also represents Joyboy's will to accept all different races without discrimination. Drum Kingdom being a cold country with snow could be a small hint to what happened during the Void Centrury, it could be that the world was frozen cold possibly by Imu. Always enjoy your videos 😃
Dulton was Sa D. Boy or he was maybe Lili? Wapol is the WG / Gorosei. If Kureha is Imu, then Imu might be a remnant from the ancient kingdom, like Orochi was in Wano. Kureha is the mother Oda speaks about, that forbids going on adventure for children until they grow up, putting their dreams on the ground. Imagine the dreams Imu has had to extinguish over they years in order to "save" the world. And just imagine if Imu is Vegan. Wouldn't that cause the hate for almost anything living? .Amazing arc.
Doctoring meaning committing fraud as well as literal doctor parallels is awesome in this video. The idea of "doctored kingdoms" is a great parallel to the One Piece 4kids rap where they literally state "Chopper's doctoring" lol
I made a tweet as soon as the gear 5 chapter came out of Luffy gear third+the drum island mountains+bongos. Joyboy played those mountains like drums back in the day
Chopper is a representation of Shanks past. An outcast among his kind. Plus Blackbeard makes more sense showing up for no reason in passing during drum.
6:40 Head with crossbones actually represents neither healing, nor death. It represents immortality (the main theme of Hillruk). The origin of this symbol is the head of Adam that was buried under the bald mountain where Jesus was later crucified. It is very fitting for Hillruk's story.
I've never stopped wondering who is Kureha really. Kureha gives Ex Roger pirate vibes. Yet she was never on the Roger Pirates. I don't think she was part of the Rocks pirates either. Whatever she was part of is far older.
Ooooh, Sabo wants to write a book for his dream, right? He'll be the one to document Luffy's Joyboy story the way that Kuma has his bible, Joyboy the poneglyphs, and Oden his journals.
I love Drum Island because it showed Luffys growth with bowing to the people and not fighting, showing Vivi how not to rule a kingdom, and of course the choppers back story
A 37 minutes video of Joboythroeries about joy boy and starting with the best quote in piece said by the dad of my favourite character, no its too good
I wonder if Dr.Hiriluk and Professor Clover ever crossed paths in some way, based off their unique hairstyles of 4 and their ambition towards their goals which they’ve never accomplished until someone completes it for them. Plus in Clover’s youth he was a rebel or mostly a “pirate” in a way. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both encountered each other.
Interesting. Randy Troy thinks that hiruluk was a slave in god valley and was healed by kuma. Inspiring him to become a doctor despite lacking in knowledge.
WRONG Joy Boy is the title given to the person who ate the Nika Nika fruit. He wasnt the person but the mantle. There will be a flash back of who was the last joy boy in the void century.
This inspired 2 questions: 1. Who will transcribe Luffy’s Journey? So many of the Near Joyboys wrote their own journals. The closest thing the Straw Hats have to record keeper is the Oral Storytelling of Usopp who often isn’t a reliable narrator. Unless Robin has a journal we don’t know about. 2. Is there always a duality of Near Joyboys in the same era and does this suggest another Joyboy Equivalent hiding in plain sight? Hiriluk/Kureha, Roger/Nolan, Oden/Kaido, Kuma/Dragon?, Luffy/Teach?, and Joyboy/Imu? Actually Joyboy could be an analog for the creative process where Joyboy represents creativity and freedom of expression but the flip side (Nolan) is that you need story structure in order communicate the message effectively.
I was listening casually as just a simple theory that sounded nice… until you mentioned the 20 Doctors! 🤯🤔 okay now I’m paying very close attention! 🧐🤓
Also a little niche but the fact Wapol can foreshadow Imu essentially and his power lets him eat anything and the very first glimpse of Imu’s power shows them with a big monstrous mouth eating fire. Plus the theories that Imu created the monsters the Gorosei are somehow could be foreshadowed by Wapol making a monster out of his two subordinates by combining them.
Dude you didnt mention that part about Hiriluks speech saying a man only truly ever dies when he is forgotten, and how deeply that ties into Joyboy. The WG tried their hardest to erase joyboy and make people forget. But not everyone forgot. The people in possession of poneglyphs remembered. And we now know the Buccaneers remembered. These people continued to wish for Joyboy, continued to desire freedom. And you see peoples dreams never die ;) So long as people wish for him, Joyboy was able to manifest again. This is what Imu referred to as Lili’s “blunder.”
I feel like you're right. Luffy is going to follow in the footsteps of those before him and he's going to fall short, but I think law is going to give him the eternal youth surgery so that he can finish the fight unlike the rest of them
It seems like time goes in a cycle in the world of OP. Different forces being reborn over and over again waiting for the stars to align for some sort of purpose. But something unnatural messed with the cycle and now the era where the stars will align to fix what's been broken for centuries is here.
hiriluk def went with roger to laughtale. the laughtale flashback is pink. There are cherry blossoms on laughtale. I would also guess that binks sake is made out of cherry blossoms.
you know what I mean though in the flashback the sky is pink for some reason when they all smile and laugh together. maybe Hiriluk brought the cherry blossoms from wano instead. but there has to be a reason why the backdrop of laughtale is pink. Perhaps they arrive during the sunrise or the sunset. But guess what happened in drum island? they turned the sky pink. How? from the cherry blossoms@@JoyBoyTheories
Drum Island, Drums of Liberation. Maybe the rock spire/mountains on the island are the drums of Liberation and if someone 'plays' them it will set everyone free somehow
I had watched a video saying that one of the shadowy figures shown in rocks crew could be laffite, but while watching you mentioning herlucks? jolly roger i think he was the doctor for rocks crew and like you said “he was healed somewhere in the west by sakura cherry blossoms” which is also where god valley was in the west blue
Just got to the 20 dr and king part of the video and this makes me think could the 22 the remaining two from the void century be Joyboy and LILY? Which would add a bit more depth too it bc both vivi and luffy were there on drum island
11:30- Heck I even argue that not even Imu or the World Nobles know how to make Devil Fruits- likely relying on Caesar, Kaido, and Vegapunk to make the process for them to refine them since it's been talked about that Devil Fruit creation was an everyday thing. Their attitudes toward giving slaves Devil Fruits imply that most World Nobles don't even understand the value of their importance with only the Elders and Imu having an idea of how important they are. It's likely a Great Kingdom creation that the World Government exploited- maybe something that was created even before then by a race that borders on the mystical and magical
I think the reason the strawhat in Mariejoa was frozen is because the room was also a preservation chamber of sorts. I believe the strawhat was sitting on top of some kind of casket which contains the body of Joyboy from 800 years ago. His body is being preserved for some reason.
Probably a dumb idea, but is it possible that buccaneers were capable of using multiple devil fruits and that's why they were hunted. Blackbeard is a buccaneer and garp, dragon and luffy might be part buccaneer.
It's like we all have life stats in leaning in towards a certain emotion more than the rest & our tech tree can be other traits like body build & personality. I think some people wish our stats were more inline with Luffy, Roger or Odon's.
Surprised you didn’t notice/mention that Luffy climbing the the drum mountain to save Nami parallels/foreshadows Kuma climbing the Red Line to save Bonney.
would be pretty cool if hiruluk got choppers hito hito df from god valley with doctrine and we’re told to take care of it by roger. Would make sense if they considered chopper has a child to them
Hiriluk could be that mysterious figure in rock’s crew if so I would say Saturn is the one who probably gave him that disease for trying to steal the treasure on god valley. Saturn could also be responsible for Roger’s disease as he revealed conducting experiments using them.
Choppers previous fruit user traveled with joyboy. Chopper will die in the final war and be revived into awakened human form. With how luffy dealt with kaido, I'm pretty sure it was a statement by oda that he can nearly defeat every character shown, except for the few like mihawk/shanks/imu. One of the only ways to "stop" prime luffy would be to attack his doctor/nakama.

G-8 arc is the filler
Personally I didnt like it but probably cause I was to young to appreciate it
Also remember most people watch/read it on a weekly basis and it was a bit slow to start
It didn't help that there wasn't a antagonist at the start of the arc
Sure it builds up to it but it seemed like alot of lore dumping of the location more then previous arcs did for their locations
And most of the characters are forgettable and by the end of said arc
Fans probably realized that no characters will ever actually die. Despite the crazy attacks and damages certain characters received that should have outright killed them
(Until one a few do later on)
@@ratchetandclankfan2 as we get older, we start to realize how important the first few arcs were.
To add to your theory about the substitute kings
1:Riley being nicknamed "the Dark King"
2:When Luffy refused the allegiance of the Straw Hat fleet, Zorro took the drink, becoming the substitute king for Luffy.
I didnt want to mention Dragon because so much of the specifics of his story are not yet told, but I considered it.
Hiriluk : "A man only dies when he is forgotten!"
Joyboy (still being known 800 years later) : 😁
Meanwhile, Kaido is currently climbing out of a fucking volcano. He ain't dead until I forget about him, he ain't gonna plot twist me! No sir!
Irony is luffy doesnt care who he or joyboy is he just acts himself with empathy and enjoyment at his core and tada there is a joyboy
His arc with his identity was just completely glossed over off screen in the time skip.
if drum island has a more intimidating villain, it’d be my favorite arc easily
Imo the sound track that was played in drum island was peak, especially in Hiriluks death with Ave Maria playing in the background. Really hits home the importance Hiriluks speech and character for the rest of the story
@@numberonecrate yeah but to me drum Island was always just a setting to tell choppers story.
@@jose2D7735 yes it's that good shit
Honestly that Manscaped promo was hilarious. One of the best
Its up there with Wendigoon's Magic Spoon cinematic universe and InternetCommentEtiquette's promos
Loved it.
Random note, but felt it should be given. Going the extra mile to make that kind of thing hilarious and interesting is good. 👍
Also, like where this theory is going so far
I agree lol I was laughing so much that I am going to buy it lol😂😂😂
Wait really I'm going back to watch it
LOL
Drum island is also the first mentioning of the will of D. That's one of many reasons I believe the "D" stands for "Drum."
Whats funny is that when you look at everyone’s last name they relate to drums
1. Monkey D.rum (Monkey Drum is a real type of Drum)
2. Claimoh d (pronounced as clou so it makes cloud drum, a software for drums)
3. Trafalgar D.rum water law (Trafalgar drummers during waterlew)
4. Marshall D.rum (like martial drum/ martial drummer)
5. Rocks D.rum (rock drum or rock drummer )
6. Portgas D.rum (Portuguese drum adufe)
7. Nefertarti D.rum (Nefertiti drum album by miles Davis)
8. Jaguar D.rum ( Mayan jaguar drum)
Perhaps D. and ‘rum’ are how the world govt hid the secret of D without needing to eliminate the name or island completely (the act of its destruction could have been a reason others would seek to remember it and preserve its history; perhaps initially the WG tried to obscure the information and then transition to forbidding its research after a generation or two)
And the other Wolf bridges are an attempt to find Laugh Tale, using those bridges and their origin points like the 4 cross-points on the WG flag. Perhaps the center dot represents Laugh Tale, Drum Kingdom, or yet another name involving alcohol or Binks
And now that we know Clover at Ohara had a brother who was killed (at least he says he was?), perhaps there was a 3rd brother… Hiraluk’s hair looks remarkably similar to Clover’s.
Noland didn't smile, but he is depicted as smiling
I think Hiluluk was a "Pirate" but one without a dream, making him no more than a common thief. It's my opinion that is the case Oda is going for.
cool take!
Theory video to fill up the break week, hyped to listen to it!
16:32… pause…
Was listening to this in a Podcast like style while doing dishes, had to pause when I heard that guitar riff at 10:40. Love me some Yakuza
Edit: I also love how you had the end of the substory noise when you finished your point!
Hiriluk's son has a role to play.
Oden's son has a role to play.
But Roger's son also had an important role to play 😮
What are the chances that void century's Joyboy's son also had a role to play and that Joyboy was pinning some of his hopes on him?
And as an aside, what if this is inverted, and Joyboy's son's role was in betraying him?
Oda is fully capable of doing crazy stuff like this...
The part chopper plays is he will make the elixir that cures everything
If VegaPunk escapes with the StrawHats I hope he compares notes with Chopper about medicine, specifically about stem cells. If Luffy does develop an incurable disease then perhaps like VegaPunk did for Bonney, Chopper can do for Luffy(or another member of the crew).
Maybe Hiruluk stole the ope ope no mi from god valley, one of his doctor colleagues on drum kingdom ate it and performed miraculous surgeries and stuff, and then used the eternal youth surgery on kureha. Thats the secret to her youth
1000 IQ theory:
The initial 'D' actually stands for 'Buccaneer.' It used to be the initial B, but over time people misheard it and mixed it up with 'D'.
liked the metaphor "the drums are frozen" a lot.
at this point it makes sense to me, that you are right, luffy will be the closest to joyboy. however since this is a shonen there has to be a substantial difference between those two; one that at the same time puts blackbeard in a different perspective to the reader.
the only one I can think of that wouldn't 'downgrade' luffy would be that nika was a slave from the get-go. It is somewhat obvious nika had maybe even more dedication to his promises than luffy does.
ultimately nika has to have somewhat of a huge "flaw", else he would have succeeded. nika could have been so simple, that he simply trusted the wrong people (which would lead to a 'character flaw' or somewhat)
like your videos so much, especially the speculating ones. Terrific.
It's a book of words! But thank you :)
@@JoyBoyTheoriesthats even more awesome! Can't wait to read it, happy that you are chasing your dreams! Your UA-cam channel is awesome!
This line has stuck with me forever, its like Jesus. Homeboy lived for so long no one can forget who he is.
Only thing to look forward to on break weeks are banger theories. Good shit bruh
I've never stopped wondering who is Kureha really. Kureha gives Ex Roger pirate vibes.
Yet she was never on the Roger Pirates. I don't think she was part of the Rocks pirates either. Whatever she was part of is far older.
I really was wondering how she stayed so young. It was a good gag having no one be interested in-universe but I totally want to know it
She might be more than 500 y.o, that's why she always offers people the secret of her youth.
Ooooh, Sabo wants to write a book for his dream, right? He'll be the one to document Luffy's Joyboy story the way that Kuma has his bible, Joyboy the poneglyphs, and Oden his journals.
Another BANGER from JB! Love it
this is my favorite video you have made! really enjoyed it
Gotta remember that Oda never intended the story to get this long at first. Chopper's dad very well may be a big factor in the end game.
Hiruluk was the joyboy we needed by not wanted. And like joyboy he will never be forgotten
Great as always
Love you jb! Thanks for this banger!
Hiruluk's dream seems ridiculous and amazing...I think Luffy's secret dream might mirror this somehow
I love Drum Island because it showed Luffys growth with bowing to the people and not fighting, showing Vivi how not to rule a kingdom, and of course the choppers back story
A 37 minutes video of Joboythroeries about joy boy and starting with the best quote in piece said by the dad of my favourite character, no its too good
Absolute banger of a video keep it up man
Herrick causing chopper to misunderstood a skull will likely be the equivalent of whatever it is Joy boy is apologizing for in fishman Island
I wouldn’t be surprised if they both encountered each other.
this is the best one piece theory I have ever seen
Interesting. Randy Troy thinks that hiruluk was a slave in god valley and was healed by kuma. Inspiring him to become a doctor despite lacking in knowledge.
How did he insert sakura flowers?
WRONG Joy Boy is the title given to the person who ate the Nika Nika fruit. He wasnt the person but the mantle. There will be a flash back of who was the last joy boy in the void century.
This inspired 2 questions:
1. I believe Robin is currently doing it!
2. That's interesting...
Loved your Manscaped Ad :D
I was listening casually as just a simple theory that sounded nice… until you mentioned the 20 Doctors! 🤯🤔 okay now I’m paying very close attention! 🧐🤓
Also a little niche but the fact Wapol can foreshadow Imu essentially and his power lets him eat anything and the very first glimpse of Imu’s power shows them with a big monstrous mouth eating fire. Plus the theories that Imu created the monsters the Gorosei are somehow could be foreshadowed by Wapol making a monster out of his two subordinates by combining them.
And wapol being the only one to see imu is Oda literally taking the piss hahaha
Dude you didnt mention that part about Hiriluks speech saying a man only truly ever dies when he is forgotten, and how deeply that ties into Joyboy. The WG tried their hardest to erase joyboy and make people forget. But not everyone forgot. The people in possession of poneglyphs remembered. And we now know the Buccaneers remembered. These people continued to wish for Joyboy, continued to desire freedom. And you see peoples dreams never die ;)
So long as people wish for him, Joyboy was able to manifest again. This is what Imu referred to as Lili’s “blunder.”
I mentioned it at the very beginning!
I feel like you're right. Luffy is going to follow in the footsteps of those before him and he's going to fall short, but I think law is going to give him the eternal youth surgery so that he can finish the fight unlike the rest of them
"Gol D. Roger tells us that he came too soon." Poor Rouge!
Jesus JESUS “drum” island, drums of liberation?
The more oda keeps revealing, keeps reminding me we havent heard about the V.O.A.T in a very long time.
It seems like time goes in a cycle in the world of OP. Different forces being reborn over and over again waiting for the stars to align for some sort of purpose. But something unnatural messed with the cycle and now the era where the stars will align to fix what's been broken for centuries is here.
My favorite arc ever!
hiriluk def went with roger to laughtale. the laughtale flashback is pink. There are cherry blossoms on laughtale. I would also guess that binks sake is made out of cherry blossoms.
I dont think the tree's are on laughtale itself, Whitebeard was there!
you know what I mean though in the flashback the sky is pink for some reason when they all smile and laugh together. maybe Hiriluk brought the cherry blossoms from wano instead. but there has to be a reason why the backdrop of laughtale is pink. Perhaps they arrive during the sunrise or the sunset. But guess what happened in drum island? they turned the sky pink. How? from the cherry blossoms@@JoyBoyTheories
I think Hiriluk was trying to make a cure-all for rogers disease and working with crocus to keep him alive.
wrong flashback im talking about when they land on laughtale not roger and whitebeard sharing a cup of sake later

GET THAT MANSCAPED BAG YESSIRRRR
Drum Island, Drums of Liberation. Maybe the rock spire/mountains on the island are the drums of Liberation and if someone 'plays' them it will set everyone free somehow
Here I look at Hiriluk's flag and saw poorly draw hearts, but theyre cherry blossoms😮 (and kinda hearts too)
Luffy and chopper both having a human type fruit has to have some sort of significance
Could see Kaido as the metaphorical 'incurable disease' for Oden. The concept of an incurable tyranny.
My mind was blown when you connected the blossoms with roger. I feel so dumb that I didn’t connect the dots
Okay, that beard bit was very clever. Good sponsor tie-in.
5:01 manscaped sponsored wojack yawp was the first time I've ever been disappointed in you boss. Better luck next time out there
come on man that was gold!!
Imu might reanimate it like moria and oars parallel.
Probably a dumb idea, but is it possible that buccaneers were capable of using multiple devil fruits and that's why they were hunted. Blackbeard is a buccaneer and garp, dragon and luffy might be part buccaneer.
I wouldnt rule it out...
Its imu , first king of drum
I must say.... that advertisement was amazing
Your landscape commercial is hilarious and worth the entire video in itself
Top 2 UA-cam one piece creators!
i think the treasure is choppers fruit while pursuing to create the Sakura hirluk forgot abt the fruit and discarded it which chopper ate
would be pretty cool if hiruluk got choppers hito hito df from god valley with doctrine and we’re told to take care of it by roger.
My favorite part of this video is sponsor ngl that shit had me crying 😭
29:18: Blackbeard? he was there and so it leads there as well
I usually skip ads, but that was hilarious😂❤
Ps
I still think that guy with the tophat and glasses, in the Rocks chapter, was Hiriluk
