Thank you! Good starting point to further research. I like ceiling cassette. In your opinion does the cassete moves the air efficiently in a large room? I have both daikin and mitsubishi. Daikin - 4 port unit, one wall mount unit had to be replaced within 3 years due to leak, otherwise i like it. Mitsubishi is 15k btu one to one wall mount with small outdoor unit, cools 20x50 area in less than an hour with fan set to only two bars :). I would be interesting to know if a comparable ceiling cassete unit will be able to do that.
Was in the market for A Unico system but thinking ductless mini splits may be a better way for my home. Thank you for your video. I found it very informative and a solid jump off point for further research. sorry you don’t service where I live. I’ll be sure to check out your other videos.

@@ductlessplushvac Interesting to hear your response. I tend to hear mixed responses from HVAC vendors about Unico but really considering a ductless option now. Yes, subscribed.
I can't even install a light fixture in the house. Did a lot of research on duct/ductless heat pump system. Found your channel THE MOST helpful. Thank you.
I have been considering the mitsubishi for my house. I will need a unit that can have 4 inside units, but I see that some of the outside units have 2 fans, looking like it is 2 units stacked. Then there are some of the units that just have the one fan. Either one can have multiple inside units. Is there any advantage to the one that has 2 fans and is taller? For example, the MXZ-4C36NA3 compared to the MXZ-SM36NAMHZ.
Great question it all has to do with the indoor equipment and the total load you need so (4) 12,000 BTU units would add up to a 48,000 BTU UNIT OUTDOORS and that would be a bigger unit with 2 fans. Jared
Thank you. Nobody else has explained this or made any videos about it. I want to be knowledgeable when I am ready to purchase. Of course, it has to be determined exactly the BTU I need, but if it works, I would rather have 2 smaller multi units than one big one. It is a 2 story addition and I want separate units for the upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs may eventually be rented out. Thanks again.
Hi Jared. I have had 4 quotes for a ductless mini split in Vancouver, BC and no one recommends the ceiling cassette. What's the deal? Is this a Canada thing or an installer thing (harder to install?)? I dislike the look of the wall mount options and with our small duplex making it feel as big as possible is important. Seems like from my research that the dimensions fit for both the top floor (going into an attic, and will also fit on the first floor at only 185mm height and fit between joists. What am I missing here? Appreciate if you have any suggestions.
Some installers don't like the extra work it takes to put them in. I have the same problem out here people are always complaining about installing the ceiling units. I feel like they give you better performance and take no wall space from the room. I'm 1000% sold on them find the right team and get what you want not what someone wants to do for your home 🏠
@@ductlessplushvac Appreciate the feedback. I know most people will just listen to what they are being told and feel that because they are not doing the install, they have to trust the professionals doing the work and their advice. Not sure if I should wait for the new 6,000 BTU unit to come to Canada or just go with the 9,000 BTU units to get it done.
So quick follow up question. Because people don't seem to want to do the ceiling casettes here, their prices between the two are over $10k difference. Is the product that much more expensive or and the labour? What is the average difference in cost between an FS series of similar BTU compared to the Ceiling cassette? There isn't really a breakdown in price so feeling like I'm going into a substantial financial decision a bit blind
why is the cooling and heating capacity on the Mitsubishi - 24k BTU Cooling + Heating - M-Series H2i so much greater than the basic unit? were do you see the performance?
The units compressor is VRF. So they can be variable of refrigerant flow. They don't need to be on 100% they operate at the smaller scale and ramp up do to load needs.
I’m looking at Mitsubishi Trane mini split system to supply my garage and small basement. 24k in the garage. And 6k in the basement with 36k outdoor multi unit. Installer said they can’t install the SZ fit ceiling cassette in my basement even though the basements not finished. No sheet rock there yet. They said they need access from above. So basically because the main level of my home is directly above the ceiling, they said they can’t install it even with 2 x 12 floor joist. Is this true? The installer only uses mitsu trane units.
Why not use a MLZ-KY06 unit? Are you going to finish the basement one day? And you can use the SZ UNIT BUT you will need room to service it from below. I'm not sure why they would say that? The unit your thinking about using is a concealed ducted unit. I wouldn't recommend that unit if you can use A MLZ-KY06.
@@ductlessplushvac the MLZ-KY06 looks like the ones I wanted. The EZ fit flush mount. The SZ above was a mistype. The installer I went to is the only elite installer listed when I enter my ZIP Code in to the Mitsubishi website. They’re pushing me towards the standard wall cassette, but I would like to flush mount in my basement because I plan on finishing the basement in the next 9 to 10 months and it would look a lot better than the wall mounted unit. But like I said, when I enter my ZIP Code in on Mitsubishi trains website, they are the only elite installer near me and there’s only one preferred installer and their website looks really cheap. What would you recommend for climate zone 4a in Morganton, NC? Hyper Heat or Standard? In the video you said if you are above 5F you could go with standard and be fine. Does it come down to cost to purchase or does it also cost more to run hyper heat if you do not need it all the time?
On average if your temperature is above 5 degrees during the winter then you can save the cost just purchasing the standard heat pump. If you think you might have a long stretch lower the 5 degrees then spend the extra money and get a Hyper heating unit.
You will be fine with a standard system as Morganton does not see regular temperatures of 5 degrees or below. I had a cabin up in Rainbow Springs just west of Franklin that I put standard system in and it worked fantastic and Franklin is a bit higher elevation than Morganton is and temps are going to be a bit cooler than Morganton and a standard system will be more than enough.
