    Great experience! Thanks Richard and Daniel! 2 main points I got from this video:
    1) It’s important not to push away uncomfortable feelings like anxiety, or these feelings often get worse. Instead just be with these feelings and accept them.
    2) People with insomnia have plenty of sleep drive and thus sleep drive shouldn’t be the focus. Instead the focus should be on addressing hyperarousal

    This is awesome. This interview and the recent one with the therapist who is Also a coach are the two I most relate with in my own journey. My story is a combo of these two! Finally living my life again. It took a long time. I’ve worked with Beth also! ❤ I’d be happy to share, finally comfortable with doing that!😊

    Hi coach Daniel and coach Richard really enjoyed listening to this, when I was in the the thick of it with my insomnia the hyper arousal was just horrendous and yes I definitely agree about cbti focusing on sleep drive ..cbti didn’t work for me either ..all the rules and noting everything .. made me worse I’m convinced .. I was seeing this counsellor one to one paying a lot of money luckily not too many sessions before I realised and then I googled and googled and found this channel. I’m better now.. ( I know coach Daniel knows this and I don’t wanna tempt fate by saying this 😂) but I still enjoy and find these success stories brilliant .. like yours coach Richard ..Such an insight .❤

    Hello Daniel! You help me a lot with these podcasts. I always find myself coming back to these videos whenever i am having speed bumps / bad nights. I have recently moved to a new rent and its in front of a veeery busy street. We got these very old trams in Hungary and whenever they pass by the whole apartment shakes lol. So i purchased some earplugs, which is obviously a step towards sleep effort. There is this tendency when i am sleeping okay-ish for some time, say 6-7-8 hours, and then, boom something comes along and disrupts my sleep (like this recent move to this new flat). I do know its all about acceptance and being okay with it but still its so damn hard sometimes.

      Hang in there, I know this is so much easier said that done but, when these episodes become something we see as a time where we can practice what we know is the way… they can help much.

    Can insomnia caused by autonomous or central nervous system dysfunction be helped by CBT-i? Not everyone has insomnia with a psychological cause. If I pursue CBTi, I look forward to booking with Richard.

    My husbands snoring is my trigger right now. If I hear him snoring my anxiety kicks in then I struggle to sleep. I have to leave the bed to sleep. I tell myself that even people with out insomnia have trouble sleeping with a snoring partner.

    • @thesleepcoachschool8192
      @thesleepcoachschool8192  7 місяців тому

      Oh yes, sleep disruption can bother us all. But as you point out, it may be the anxiety from the snoring that creates more difficulties than the snoring itself. Maybe check insomnia insight 513, that can help.

      @musclezetherapies6133 you know, this is actually a common question, many of our coaches were still on the journey when they started the program. I’d say if you can imagine helping someone without mind going (but what about me?) then you may be in a nice place from which to start.
