He was 24 for the info.. great player, people say Pep made him, but his style of play was the same and he won the Euro 2008 best player of the tournament before Pep's first season.
jamies798 depends how you look at it. Xavi is a barcelona type player and suits a team that likes to keep the ball. This year he has been moved out of the team by rakitic and won everything. Since Scholes has left united they havent been the same. Scholes 499 app 107 goals. Xavi 505 app 58 goals.
+ARTILLERY Gen No way. Xavi was THE BOSS in the Barcelona of 6 titles and the Spain of two Eurocups and the world cup. Rakitic replaced a 35 years old Xavi. And he made much more assists than Paul.
Xavi is a brilliant player, probably one of the best midfielders in history and if you don't realize that you're either too young or don't know anything about football. Or a combination of the two. To watch his masterpiece is wonderful, sadly he's getting old.
Xavi played at a phenomenal level from 2002 onwards with the exception of 06 when he got injured. Unfortunately Barcelona weren’t always great which meant a lot of his actions in games weren’t useful because the other players didn’t have the quality to follow it up. He deserved to eventually be in a great team and have his talents maximised. If social media was around back during this time he’d for sure have been rated much higher. The idea that he ‘only became good when Pep arrived’ is, for want of better words, horseshit.
Xavi Masterclass, I'm french, Il always thought that zz was the best midfielder of all time, but watching Xavi and Iniesta made me change my opinion, I wouldn't thought but I have to recognize, GOAT!
all the comments here are ridiculous he's boring his that ...he's awareness of space is out of this world unlike all the English player who got beat by Iceland haha.
Footballl fans are fickle, Xavi has been running games continously and consistently since 2004, ignoring a few Barca dips in-form. The fact he's overlooked is because the goal-scoring midfielder or enganche always gets more praise anf notice than the regista. It's a shame, but true.
He wasn't a world class player in terms of popularity before 2008. Though, he was and still a world class player technically. Before, nobody considered Xavi as one, if not the best, of the greatest registas of all-time. Before, he used to walk in the streets and go to cinema peacefully while playing for one of the best teams in the world. Now, if he goes out, there's literally a f***ing brawl of paparazzi, fans around him.
He never changed. He didn't really progressed if we look at this video. It seems like he's been at his peak for a long time. Like 10 years. We just really understood the he had and still have for 5 years.
xavi mejor medio centro del mundo, ronaldiño lo enseñó a Messi a ser mago con el balón ,y XAVI le enseñó a saber manejar los partidos....grande grande XAVI
Chill out. You said you love the beautiful and made references to players that are clearly above Xavi's level. If you love football so much I can't understand why you think this is boring. Anyway have a nice day.
I get your point, but the main reason why Xavi plays it very safe is that he plays in the Tiki Taka system that ( no matter how beautiful it is) doesen't alow him to do those "hot passes like Riquelme for example does. Even in this Spanish national team you can see that kind of play tiki taka.
You can't compare riqeulme to xavi becuz thy are to different players thts how thy play and its the central midfield you have to play it safe most of the time
Fanboy? Yes, I'm a fan of beautiful game, not that boring passes that Xavi do 97% of the time. Look better at the games of RonaldoR9 at his peak, Maradona, Romario and compare it to Xavi. If you enjoy Xavi more than you must be a fanboy and something is wrong with you.
Do you also think Iniesta boring? Do you think that Guardiola's Barcelona was boring? Xavi was a great player and made 22 assists in La Liga in 2008-2009 season
This video is quite good. But I'm overall not much impressed with Xavi's game because 97% of time he plays if very safe and it would be more spectacular if he would do more ''hot'' passes. Compare Xavi and Riquelme , and see the difference;)
Xavi makes games so easy. That why you seeing him always in safe spaces. No one can't get closer to Xavi in game controlling, vision and quick through ball supplying skills.
Xavi knows when to play safe and when to make hot passes with great consistency, totally controlling the midfield, being reassuring and almost never making mistakes. This video shows a good amount of great passes by Xavi and great skills. Look also at his historical game in the 6-2, 4 Xavi assists, and really amazing assists.
Xavi and Iniesta were not players of doing hot passes all the time. They were players of controlling the game, tiki-taka and so on, but they made many great passes
Whether or not u think xavi is boring is a matter of preference. The fact is however that xavi is a great player.. Not on the level of the all time greats obviously but a great player regardless.. Btw for those of u comparing him to R9, ive watched a few of his games at his peak and he is nothing compared to the legend he is spoken of as or the highlight vids made of him. He was in my opinion a very good goal poacher but with better dribbling and finishing than most strikers, but he had no creative abilities, and his success was largely due to the teams he played for. Ive watched him time after time fail in his attempts to dribble past defenders and score then end up scoring a few weak goals (2002 wc) yes he could score, and in big games, but he was a product of the team and not the driving force behind it.
You must not have watched Ronaldo in the 90s. Watch his performance against Holland in 1998 World Cup. And Xavi is one of the greatest midfielders ever. Not a player on the level of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Zidane and so on, but still a true great
If xavi played today he would be called the best midfielder ever. Unlucky he played in an era where people value useless dribbles more than effective and silky passing.
He was 24 for the info.. great player, people say Pep made him, but his style of play was the same and he won the Euro 2008 best player of the tournament before Pep's first season.
He’s been world class since he started
The best Spanish player of all time!
Once a maestro, always maestro !!!
I remember that game, was Xavi’s first international masterclass. The beginning of things to come...
People who think scholes is better than xavi don't no football xavi was a different dimension in controlling a game
jamies798 depends how you look at it. Xavi is a barcelona type player and suits a team that likes to keep the ball. This year he has been moved out of the team by rakitic and won everything. Since Scholes has left united they havent been the same. Scholes 499 app 107 goals. Xavi 505 app 58 goals.

so you're saying Xavi in Man utd team instead of Scholes = same success? I dont think so :p
Xavi is the best spanish player ever. But i have to recognize that until 2008, he didn't show his best performance.
Álvaro González Pérez it's a complete myth. He was always great. Another example ua-cam.com/video/_TTEHk587fE/v-deo.html

Perfectly said
Xavi Masterclass, I'm french, Il always thought that zz was the best midfielder of all time, but watching Xavi and Iniesta made me change my opinion, I wouldn't thought but I have to recognize, GOAT!
In this match he showed to everybody in the world how a to control a football match.
One of his best performances.
all the comments here are ridiculous he's boring his that ...he's awareness of space is out of this world unlike all the English player who got beat by Iceland haha.
he was still almost unknown then
that's the difference spanish players arent that much overrated like english players
That's a huge exaggeration. He was considered a top midfielder, but I agree not many would have predicted what he would become.
Xavi was just different
Remember watching this live and thinking I’d never seen one man run a game like it before
The guy was a genius
El mejor centrocampista de la Historia .
Leo Creus sin duda.
If you find Xavi boring you probably just don't understand his (very important) role in the team
Jamie Redknapp said it was one of the best midfield performances he’d ever seen
Footballl fans are fickle, Xavi has been running games continously and consistently since 2004, ignoring a few Barca dips in-form. The fact he's overlooked is because the goal-scoring midfielder or enganche always gets more praise anf notice than the regista. It's a shame, but true.

if he is boring to you then probably you are a fanboy or to young to realise this masterpiece
Thanks mate for the upload, this footage will silence thousands :D
Thanks and please continue the awesome work.
Do you have some Caniggia footage?
xavi mejor medio centro del mundo, ronaldiño lo enseñó a Messi a ser mago con el balón ,y XAVI le enseñó a saber manejar los partidos....grande grande XAVI
O talento do Messi é inato, ninguém ensino nada a ele.
I wish someone would upload the whole 90 minutes

I saw plenty of hot passes and great skills here. A guy who does not make many hot passes has not Xavi's stats of assists, often leader of assists
Great video bro, were the fuck do you download all these retro matches?
please another vid from xavi
Is this before or after the Euro 2004?
joao mendes , before.
xavi (short pass 97, vision 96) (iniesta short pass 96, vision 96) pirlo(long pass 97 vision 96)
Xavi vision 99
Pirlo vision 97
Iniesta vision 96
I disagree with all of you guys, Xavi has always been a WORLD CLASS PLAYER, since he was a kid..

Alonso The best
Dragan Arbutina Nah
Xavi is boring, make better video's about Maradona or Romario

Jokeronk See this, you will see many hot passes.

I didn't said that he is bad player , he is very good player, but 90% of time boring to watch.
Jokeronk xavi es el mejor medio organizador que ha dado el fútbol
