We are going through the same process now . My husband and I are moving two cats and a Maltese to KL. We are going to be living there for three years . What a ton of paperwork and thankfully we had all the vaccines except for leptospirosis.
Thank you for the info! I’m planning to move from Thailand to Malaysia with my dogs I’m kinda surprised that you couldn’t visit your dog During quarantine. In all the websites there is information that owners can visit their pet. I’m kinda worried now….
This is so helpful! We are planning to travel with our cats to malaysia here soon. Are able to share the contact you have at the KLIA airport or even just their website? That would be super great! Love all your videos, have been following for some time now!
This is the contact number I have. They made all of the arrangements for us to import Marley, including reservations at the quarantine facility. +60 122453099☺️
Thank you so much for this video. I didn't know dogs entering Malaysia have to quarantine for 1 week. It does sound like dog jail being inside their crate with all the loud noise and other dogs around.
Countries with a certain level of rabies have a pet quarantine requirement. In some cases up to 2 months! In Malaysia she had a decent size room all to herself with her crate inside of it where she could go in or out of as she pleased. Still, it was very loud, smelly and stark for sure.
Hi, we're planning to take our pets back home to New Zealand. In order for us to do this we need to take them to a rabies free country first. Our plan would be to take them to Malaysia and then have them stay for 6 months (required for NZ) and then take them home after that. Do you think this would be possible? Sounds like they'd need to do a quarantine there first. How much did that cost? How about sending your dog on to your next destination? Costs involved?
Sorry, I can’t really speak about other countries as each one has their own regulations. I believe the quarantine cost around $500 USD. Again, the cost of the next destination all depends on that next destination. To get the papers we required to leave Malaysia it was about $300. Good luck!
I really want to take my dogs to Malaysia, but their dogs laws and regulations are so strict. Even with Covid, people don't have to quarantine anymore, but 7 days quarantine for dogs is a long time; especially, after they got off the terrify airplane and doesn't get to see their owner.
The quarantine has to do with the level of rabies present in their country. Seeing the daily updates of Marley there was a little heartbreaking for sure. But she quickly got back to her normal self within a couple of days of being reunited with us.
IT'S ABSOLUTELY INHUMANE (ANY TIME AFTER A STRESSFUL FLIGHT AWAY FROM THE OWNER IS MISGUIDED TO SAY THE LEAST)... THEY ARE GENERATIONS BEHIND IN ANIMAL WELFARE, AND DURING COVID THOUSANDS OF PETS WERE SURRENDERED AT THE BORDER, AND IN A LOT OF WAYS MALAYSIAN LAWS ARE LIKE THE GOOD OL BOYS COLONIAL PARTRIARCHAL LIKE USA.
Thanks for the informational video. I always wondered if my family also traveled to Malaysia how do we bring our Cavapoo with us? Wow I would probably be so worry for our dog leaving him on a plane and then the 7 day quarantine.
It’s a long flight and separation to consider for sure. For us it was worth it to have her with us for the three months we were there. It might not be worth it for shorter visits. Depends on the family.
Awww I’m so sorry. Only a few more days until you’re reunited! We left KL and headed to Italy for a couple of months. We’re temporarily back in Canada currently.
Hi Marissa, I am now trying to book a quarantine spot in Malaysia klia station and they say they require the permit to make the reservation. Was that the case for you? The Malaysian permit apparently takes about a month and lots of paper work and approval from different departments?
hiii, i have a question. I`m also planning on going to malaysia with our pet next month. A question how did you manage to do the booking with the animal quarantine station yourself? i`ve been trying it but they say that we need a malaysian number, And if i may ask how much did you pay for the quarantine?
Ooo I don’t recall how much the quarantine was. Around $500 USD if I recall. I used what’s app and reached out them that way. It was a pain but it somehow all came together. Good luck!
Malaysian here, just help add some tips once you arrived in Malaysia... especially "Dog owner" should be aware of this ; -Malaysia is a Islamic country as we all know (you probably think about Ah-Ha !, negative thoughts, right ?, wait just read below here) -yet you still can find dog friendly area when you start online do research, usually Chinese and India communities will welcome dog lover, we had no issues on animal as long as is not pet tiger is ok 😂😂😂. -*Bonus* is super rare to find Muslim dog lover, usually the local Malay/Muslim will be super stress up no idea how to deal with dog with better solution, very afraid of dog because they never socialise with one either from young age, usually their traditional is dog phobia and all dog are dangerous are serial killer devil dark jinx monster beast soul sucker and rabies bringer till make angel runaway without blessing ones house, something negative to ones soul, is like considered "Man are Dog's worst enemy" opposite term of "Dog are Man's best friend" something like frenemies "beware of the closed besties a revenge", and also so sorry 😅 is due to najis/impurities ritual for religion purpose, well respected. [no problem to cat people here], if your dog is related as working animal and protect house No ! problem. 7 times cleansing using soil is a must. Remember Islam teached about Allah will accept dog go up to heaven and also for dog helper too. Sadly some people don't seems follow the teaching. -Dog friendly state of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Selangor, Penang, Johor Bahru, Sarawak, Perak) -Don't walk you dog near to malay muslim area/region/place, is a BIG NO ! - NO ! due to religion and traditionanl practice. -beware of dog nap (steal dog cases) -some dog hater will poison dog , especially neighbour and stray dog -spay and neutral is best option, plenty of stray dog in Malaysia will hybrid your sweet fur baby -keeping animal health is vital. -well trained dog is must -always kept on leashed not long then 20 meter (vehicle might crash on your dog) -muzzle up please if you dog is aggressive behaviour (if too friendly, no need, just leash is enough) -aggressive dog breed is not allowed in here -Yes !, not all place in Malaysia is dog friendly or allowed pets, always do research. Best bet is ask Chinese or India communities or dog shelter (they will show you a perfect place) to be freedom with dog. (some place is also freedom do wear bikini , if you lucky enough to do research and found the right spot to rest the hot sunny weather, tropical relax with you family and furry friends as well) -hiking your dog places such as beach/waterfall/open field/park , should also need to ask "is this place dog friendly or is many malay muslim" because majority Malaysian prefer bring children not pets walking around. Yes !, family friendly NOT PETS/NOT ANIMAL. Malaysian find awkward to call animal as family because animal is like lower class than human children because human is high hierarchy than animal. Yes ! we can respect animal but in religious way, as animal had soul to be freedom of their own not stick around with human, but thier own animal's family, "animal had their own family too" , just let animal be animal don't forced them to be human alike.
Thanks a lot for these precious information. I am planning to travel with my dog to KL soon, can you please share the number or website of the import office to make the quarantine booking and if it is possible to share how much it cost you for Marley. Also, would be so grateful if you could share the contact to submit the import permit request. Thanks a lot

May I know if you can have 2 small dogs living with you in a condo or apartment? I looked up online and it shows only 1 dog is allowed and you have to get license for your pet.
@@AmySmith-pt7pb Correct. They won't receive a dog license in Malaysia, but they will receive an import permit that shows proof of them being allowed entrance into the country.
They don’t really like dogs there. We took her to the roof of our condo building to run around or to a small grassy area across the street. There was an amazing park about a 30 minute walk away but it said “no dogs allowed.” 😂 Many were afraid of our small dog, while others would wave at her while keeping their distance. Only a few people really seemed to enjoy dogs and wanted to see her up close.
We weren’t worried. She had a fairly large space to herself. There doesn’t seem to be any long lasting trauma, thankfully. For the flight she was drugged so she was quite woozy. The reunion with us seemed to undo any trauma from being in quarantine. She was quite clingy for about 48 hours though. ☺️
Hope marley will not have too much stress like their human parents. When it comes to live animals, Australia has a more stricter process to protect their cattle industry.
Our agent price was around $9000. We are moving from Texas and we needed a USDA INSPECTION paperwork to export . In addition, it costed another $1000 to get the vet medical the two weeks prior . Also parasite treatment within 7 days .
thank you so much for sharing!!

Hi, where did you stay in Malaysia?
The AirBnb is linked in this video: Airbnb Condo Tour | Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

We have two small dogs and the smallest has anxiety without the other.🙃This would be a little difficulty. Good information though! Thanks!
Awww that’s so precious. The one has his own emotional support dog and BFF in the other. 💕
Thanks
I hope it was helpful! ☺️

I do not know. You need to inquire about India’s import requirements. The export agent we used can be reached via what’s app at 0111 665 4472

Can you please share the whatsap number of the quarantine facility?
