Hi Crystal, Im sorry for your loss. I watched your story on forensic files. She reminded me of my oldest daughter and I could see myself in that situation. You handled it smartly and with great tenacity. I hope you finished your forensic training/schooling. Id be very interested to know if your working in that field, I hope so. Anyway, God bless you.

Seeing your brave daughter's life and your devotion to her was inspirational. Vicky was able to create a good life and much of that would have come from your support and love. I wish you all the best, and know my thoughts are with you!

God bless you! You are the true inspiration of what a parent should be. I didn't have an accident that young but I struggled hard with asthma, never being able to fit in because I couldn't play sports and was deemed a nerd, having constant attacks and having my mom being supportive made a lot of difference but never more than recently after I finally became disabled from a motor vehicle accident I had several years ago after high school, the 3 spine surgeries that followed, and the progressive brain neurological disorder I became diagnosed with a couple years ago that mimics parkinsonionism, and left me with perm. brain damage but is caused by a genetic disease and abnormal accumulation of copper. I'm just 34. Yours and Vicky's story hit me particularly hard. If I weren't in severe chronic pain constantly and resistant to strong pain meds, my quality of life would be far easier.
I have all the respect in the world for the fight you had inside you for your child, you gave her the life that she she ultimately should have had longer to enjoy but otherwise wouldn't have had and I believe she was the type of person to truly appreciate you for you for your efforts. Thank you so much for your bravery in sharing your story and coming on here to interact with us. A rare and true honor.

Vicky Lyons was not hit by an 18 wheeler. If you want to hear her story on Forensic Files called “Treading not so Lightly” or you can find her story in line “Google”
She passed away at the age of 34 from a brain aneurysm in her sleep. But befor that happened she was a wrestler.
Check out her story! It’s a wonderful story told abt her accomplishments after her tragic accident at 4 yrs old
RIP Vicky Lyons you hav touched many people’s hearts

Tim Smarr, your mom must be so proud to have raised a very classy guy. Maybe you should spend less time commenting and insulting people, and more time learning proper English, like grammar and punctuation. And by the way English is my 2nd language. And no that's NOT figure of speech, it's the wrong information. Again, take your own advice and get a life.

I just came across this after having seen this story a few times and I had no idea of the remarkable transformation that this young lady went through before she died. I had always felt bad because of what was taken from her by the accident but seeing this made me so glad that she really did get out there like she talked about in the show. But it looked to me like she must have really made some more amazing progress after the show with maybe more surgeries or therapy so that she could do the wrestling. She looks so normal in the pictures, and beautiful. Good for her.

Just watched on Forensic Files. Correction to story...she was hit by a pick up truck at 4years old, her mom brought her to work and told her to go play in the parking lot (unpaved driveway) at the Herald Magazine. The tiny girl was sitting in a grassy parking lot when the guy driving the truck backed out real fast and drove away not realizing he hit the girl, probably would of never of expected to think a kid would be there in that very spot (based on re-enactments). Sadly she lived that way and her mom got a settlement from paper for medical treatment. I am so glad she was able to pursue some type of career she enjoyed before her passing...I looked her up wondering about where she was today 😢this was tragic, kids at that age should never be
