MT07 all Day! I've never rode the Trident but I own an mt07 with an exhaust and it's an amazing machine, save some cash over the triumph and do some basic upgrades and you have a street slaying beast of a bike!
I'm really stuck between these two bikes having tried them. A new 22 plate MT07, or nearly new trident with quick shifter. Both same price, aaaargh!!!! I'm returning to bikes after 20 years off and now living in France. Not much baggage options on Trident, main pitfall
Yes, if bikes are supposed to be fun, the MT07 is far better then the heavier, sluggish Trident. Stick an after market exhaust on that and it will come alive.
"Heavier, sluggish trident" Don't exaggerate, it's 17lbs heavier. I've ridden both and the Yamaha is marginally better in the handling department, if that
@@NicePantsLance when some people spend fortunes on shaving off pounds or ounces from their bike, 17lbs is a massive amount and the CP2 engine is a lot livelier
If you got either, you wouldn't fee short changed. I bought the trident, the looks over the yammy, was the 1st thing, then the triple engine for its extra revs and lastly, the chassis, triumph always seems to get this right.. Did think of the xsr 700, but felt the trident was a newer design. Am really enjoying this bike still, after 8 months. 👍Thanks for the video.
A really decent review and much appreciated to. Thinking of getting one pretty soon now. I'm moving from a 1250 Bandit which I find quite weighty these days, plus I rarely use the bandit engine above 4000rpm. I need a more day tripping/ weekend camping trips use machine. I've found your video quite encouraging. Many thanks indeed for this. I hope your keeping well and enjoying the riding
Does the 2021 Yamaha MT-07 make a buzzing noise when you're riding it? I have a 2007 Kawasaki 650R Ninja, and even though it's an excellent bike, it has a fairing or cowling buzz which ruins the riding experience. Thank you.
@@timrodierides I’ll admit I’m a little bike-curious after watching your nonsense 👀 I’ve only ridden once as an adult, which was around Spa in the dark on a borrowed pit scooter. That was fun..
Seems like a great bike. My big irritation are vlogers/reviewers. An expose of a goofy aspect of Western culture ... bigger is always better ... if its a large displacement bike, and guzzles gas it must be for 'advanced' riders. .. ad nauseam drivel about bikes for 'newbees'.Maybe when gas is three times what it is now there will be a change in thinking.

Great review. Change the exhaust and it sounds amazing!

Trident, it's not sluggish, if you ask of it, it goes, end of!
Trident is neither heavy or sluggish!
@@rbattson7171 compared to the opposition, it is.

I reckon the TRX850 was far ahead of its time.
Regarding the engine sound, the MT07 is the best sounding bike with aftermarket exhaust. This is out of all bikes I've ever heard.

I had a SCProject can on mine, I loved it. Wish i'd kept it now. Time for another one. Yes Please.
I lost you at "sounds like learner bike" without mentioning it sounds like a beast w exhaust.
he says it at the end of the video...
is the torque and hp only down for the euro market? Wonder what the USA specs are for torque and hp on the 2021 and 2022?
Mmm not everyone likes a Tripple noise and Mt07's sound great with a aftermarket pipe.
I love my CB650R. A bit more grown up, lovely quality finish and a screaming 4 cylinder engine. It's a superb machine.
yy... yea... they are build in Thailand... so...
@@grodt88 really? How about the mt07 and xsr700 are they from japan? I’m already inlove w/ my 2021 xsr700

And I bet you flashed the main beams due to not knowing where they are.
Gonna say it... Tim Rodie reviews are better than Carwow.
I'm not sure Mat does bikes (he did used to ride though)

Hey William - I didn't notice any buzzing whatsoever. To be honest there's not much plastic on it to actually buzz
@@timrodierides I can't understand why Bikez gave the 2021 MT-07 such a bad review.
The best value for money machine period. However an upside forks would have been better 👍
The MT-07 is the rascal, the Trident is the sensible option, up to you 😀.
sensible straight from Thailand factory LOL
the mirrors do start spinning by the way lol
Dagnabbit!
to make matters worse, the stem of the mirror does not fit a normal socket; you need a special thin-walled one
How does this compare to the Duke 790 and 890?
Far tamer. The 890 is nutty
It's cheaper and more reliable.
When you put a can on in it sounds 1000 times better
I nearly want to get a bike licence 🙊
Do it, do it, do it!
A buddy of mine is doing his. He's loving it. Go for it!

Everyone should ride at least once and preferably get a full licence. It's one of the best things I ever did.
trust me, happiness is not what it is cracked out to be.
The sound of the mt07 is the best thing about it, just sounds mean. Triumph can’t follow it on sound
Clutch it up in 2nd? Hell, I can snatch it up in 3rd. And I'm sure my New bone stock mt 07 isn't special.
What flavor accent is that????

True. I have a big capacity bike and I’m a total fool tbh. Most of the bikes I’ve really enjoyed in the past year have been under 700cc!
I ride a bicycle, happy as a clam

The Trident looks so much better.
Better finish and overall quality, looks are subjective.
Looks more like a girly bike that trident
Needs a fruity slip on !..then you’ll notice the character!
And some EBC or SBS front pads!
It`s got to be the Trident definitely the better bike, Triumph are showing the Japanese the way.
