    Getting my first poodle companion this December after my best friend for 14 years have passed last year. Thanks so much for such informative and entertaining videos because it made me less anxious on how to care for a smaller breed since most of my previous dogs were labrador retrievers and big aspins.

    Your pottu training video actually helped. We picked up our toy poodle last saturday. I started the potty training. She learned very fast in 3 days. My problem is crate training. How do I make her not cry ehen she’s inside her crate/play pen? She keeps us up all night when we go to bed. Even my Bichon can’t sleep and would bark at her to stop crying. For 2 days, my Bichon was very aloof with her. But this evening I’m so happy to see them play and zoomies together. Our toy poodle is a climber. She was able to climb out of the play pen . She’s like a little monkey. She’s so cute.

      @@poodlemom thanks for your email address. I will definitely write to you. Right now when she cries in her crate, we just ignore her at bed time. Eventually she gets tired of it and stop. I just wake up every 3-4 hrs to let her out to potty. I let them play a little bit and put her back in her crate.

    • @annaramos7950

      Yesterday, Gucci and CC played all day. They were very tired by midnight. Gucci was so sleepy that she can’t keep her eyes open. I made sure she pee/poo before putting her inside her crate. She was too sleepy to let out a cry. I shut the cage and covered with dark blanket. She and CC were quiety sleeping until 6am. We woke up and let her pee. Fed her, let her pee and poo. And back to the room she goes by herself until we get home from work.

    I got my toy poodle 4 days ago. And I love him so much! He is the sweetest puppy and the smartest. He understands me very well unless I shift my attention somewhere else, then he will do something I don’t like. Though, once I tell him “no” he understands. At the beginning he would only eat from my hand but now he is being a good boy and eating from his bowl. One thing I didn’t like is that he started behaving bad after playing with other dogs, he barely barks or complains and right after playing with my friends senior chihuahua, he began to complain and bark at me and my partner. We didn’t find this behavior okay, therefore we let him know that behaving like the others dogs is bad.

    • @poodlemom

    She kept biting our legs and not wanting the toy, including potty training she just does her business on our house floor instead of the pooping pads and stuff. What should we do? We carried her to the pooping pad, well she did do her business but she kept peeing the floor

    • @poodlemom
      @poodlemom  7 місяців тому

      When she does her business on the floor, try staining the pee pad with her pee and or poop. Leave the scent on the stained pee pad. You have a higher chance she’ll go to the pee pad more.
      What kind of floor do you have? If it’s carpeted- most likely she smells her pee there. You have to get an enzymatic cleaner to remove her pee scent completely from it. You can use the aame one to clean your floor. :)

      Hi there! Thank you so much for supporting our little channel! In my experience, Poodles can adapt to most type of environments even in small studio type condos so long as you give them ample walks outdoors and such. I'm sure they will be fine with you.
      Please think about the maintenance in terms of grooming and vet more than worrying about the living space. Because they really will take some time to keep their coats all poofy and nice. Unless you are ok with just a regularly shaved pup in a summer cut! ^^ No harm in that either. LOL
      As for the breeder, I am afraid this is a topic, I would prefer not to touch as we have our own different biases and such. Really sorry I cannot help in this aspect. >_<

      Hello! Female or male, poodle or not, imho what's more important is you train them to tolerate the situation. Because for me, I used to work a usual 9-5 job when my girls were much younger and they were fine being left alone because I trained them to be so ^^ So yes, they can provided you do the necessary steps po ^^

      Hi Siva! I made a video on this. It might help: ua-cam.com/video/UFIEh66LKvE/v-deo.html As for the biting. Every dog can bite, what matters more is how you train the dog to grow up assimilating with your culture inside the family ^^

    When you go somewhere for more than 1 day is it hard to leave them? Are they nervous?

    • @poodlemom
      @poodlemom  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Miriam! If you have a puppy, it might be hard only because they need someone to look out for them. But as for them being alone, it's possible with the right training and preparation. My girls are fine with me being gone for a day or two. ^^
      However, do let me clarify that they can get nervous if they are too attached to their humans. But with proper training this can easily be corrected ^^ Not sure if I was able to properly answer your question but I hope this helps!

    • @poodlemom

      @@benc80906 Ok so this means, you will have to reintroduce the crate to him. Most probably he was just carried into the crate and he had no choice in the matter.
      Once you get him used to the crate, you can then easily soothe him at night. Back then what I did was I covered the crate halfway with a blanket. The girls cried a little for a few hours then fell asleep. :)

    • @poodlemom
      @poodlemom  4 роки тому

      Hi Lui! Uhm, with my girls, I started training them in getting meds as early as 2 months old. What I did, I started giving them something yummy using the syringe so that they would always think it's something positive. You can try that before giving them the actual meds. ^^ Otherwise, you will need to force feed.
