There isn't much evidence for it yet, the main cannabinoid medication I found one randomized controlled trial on was dronabinol which did improve weight in that study. Things that work surprisingly well are zinc and cyproheptadine maybe I will cover those in videos this week as well
Hello, I started using sertraline two days ago, 50mg/day. I have anorexia and I’m so scared because every article I read online says that it makes you gain weight, and that you have to eat healthy, exercise to not gain any. How am I supposed to feel better, when the medication I use causes what scares me the most ???
It's a difficult disorder to treat. In the inpatient setting the primary focus is on restoring weight and setting target goals for weight gain while managing all of the medical comorbidities that usually go with it. The medical assessment is very important looking for and correct laboratory anomalies. Being present when the person eats, and preventing bathroom use directly after eating is important for the purging variants. Hope this helps appreciate the comment

What non medical interventions can nurses implement for these patients. Besides the blocking the bathroom after meals.
