Many religions and philosophies offer methods to understand the world around us and to lead happier lives, so what makes Buddhism different?
In the second part of our Introduction to Buddhism course, Dr Alexander Berzin explains what differentiates Buddhism from other religions and philosophies - the Four Hallmarks. These four characteristics of existence form the basis of Buddhist belief.

    Dr. Berzin-
Thank you so much for these videos! I'm so impressed with the authenticity of the teachings, the high quality of the teachers you're presenting, and the beautiful production value of the videos themselves. I'm certain that this project will bring benefit to countless beings. Thank you for your tireless efforts to bring the teachings to everyone who feels drawn to them, and to the clarity, depth, and simplicity you bring to the study of this most beneficial of practices. I'm deeply indebted to you and inspired by your example.

Thank you so much. After some deep depression, I had sought help with mindfulness. But it was void of the spiritual essence behind it thus felt there was more to it. My therapist was a wonderful woman but it was techniques without spirituality, which I felt I very much needed. This lead me on to my interest in Buddhism but I literally had no idea where to start. Thank you for these videos which are giving me great insight.

From my experience, i sense an Intention to clear our minds & hearts of all thoughts & emotions, leaving only Love (not an emotion, but Conscious Awareness) to be of assistance towards Enlightenment- may i ask your opinion on this? Of course, one would have had to have an experience of Unconditional Love to know the difference between Love & Emotions..
