  • Spring growth in Juneau annually passes me by more quickly than I would hope, especially the blueberry blossoms along the forrest trails. I originally wanted to make this video purely to experience and share an afternoon of beauty. In the end, I decided to also include some reflection on the process.

Dear Kent, for very close shots you should "hold" focus... not allowing tracking if unnecessary during the shot. Better a slight loss of focus than focus jittering/hunting. Anyway your video is stunning! Great job!

Well, spring in the forrest is stunning anyway. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I don't think about locking focus as often as I should. I also adjusted my camera setting recently to hold the target more tightly, and that will also help.

Did you use a gimbal or did you hold it in your hand?

This was all hand-held. With no stabilization built into the lens, there was definitely some noticeable shake in the video clips even after adding warp stabilizer in Premiere Pro.
