I genuinely appreciate the scrutiny steak put into analyzing the details on the model before making any conclusions. So many other youtubers would have instantly jumped to grossly exaggerated claims and legal action in order to make the most clickbait content, but he just seems so interested in the process and how this duplication could have happened. Great change of pace!
I voted this on the discord, but having looked at a lot of kitbashed work in games, I dont think this is copied, at least not using your actual model files. Either they put a TON of effort in blender to intentionally make it look just different enough (which doesn't feel right based on the general quality), or, more likely, they just found images of yours looking for references and thought it was the actual model.
Black doom is finally done, I’m so excited for that. One question I have in mind is since you attempted Doom Wing and Morph, will you ever attempt Doom Surf since the bootleg came with one?
Another thing that could’ve happened was that they double molded the printed model which I think happened. Notice how the size is slightly flattened and has less definition. This can happen if the first casted result isn’t to their liking or they need to make alterations to make it work for their Shadow, in this case, the connection points for Shadows back. As a result, the second mold will be of the original result, but have less quality to it, which is why that area on the back of the wing you pointed at had a dip, that looks like a result of recasting.
Knowing how mexican bootlegs work, id like to say they didnt print your model to then cast it , what they did do is just use your custom as reference images since there probably wasnt much more to use at the time, Still really crazy to think you were the main reference for a bootleg shadow figure!
@@fleshgrinderr thanks! Yeah it's a weird juxtaposition of being excited that this was made but don't want people to outright sell the same product I sell on Etsy. Obviously this isn't really competition for my sales so I think that's the difference.
Have you tried comparing it to the 6-inch collector-series wings? I could be based off that too... But yeah, I had the exact same thought when I saw that thing on eBay. XD XD
Hey, do you remember how in Toy story Buzz Lightyear had to cope with the fact that he wasn’t the “real” buzz Lightyear? I wonder how a knock off toy would cope? It’s bad enough for this knock off shadow that it isn’t the “real” shadow, worst of all he’s a knock off of a replica of the “real” shadow
I pretty much sure they are not just using yours. I think they’re using the game model the upcoming action figures that have no face plates but only hand poses and spikes on the back for you the bad wings on and yours so I think it’s going to be both the size is a boat way of course you’re going to take your stuff. You’re going to take every single character fanart you name it. They are like the Grinch but don’t have a big heart. No they have a big grade a greedy heart inside of them by the way, I like your custom
