i love the first shots after the intro. somehow they give me the vibe of how the lens saw it’s first light. technical/analytic, yet calm/peaceful. your editing is phenomenal dude!
5 seconds in, you had the measly ‘Like’. Your nonchalance in delivery towards fans of autofocus on a lens, “Then GTFO of here.”, had me subscribe with chuckling pleasure.
That's honestly a really motivating video - sometimes there is no need for a brand new lens and more debt in a bank to create an amazing visuals. Cheers!
Usually* there’s no need It’s so funny that people look for sharper and sharper lenses and then immediately once they start processing/editing it they add grain and attempt to combat the almost distracting level of oversharpness in modern digital filmmaking.
Oh man, this is really great stuff...I am always looking for "cinematic look" to be added to my stills, but your movie and your work is VERY inspiring for me. Agree with some others, the colours are great! Well well done and thanks so much for this!
Dude... This... is... genius! Not only the lens, but whole combination of color correction, music, montage is actualy making the lens better. I was amazed, how you could combine 3:03 slow music/fast montage and running scene / cigarette scene. Great idea for visualizing memories. Subscription!
Awesome. So many lens video are just about a guy sitting behind a desk showing us the lens, instead of showing us the footage. Great visual style, well done :)
Nicely done. I have a 70s Vivitar film camera with a 135mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.8. I use both lenses on my A7 - love the soft, warm imagery they produce. I see the same thing in the 28mm f2. Bravo. Magnificent video. Love the ambient music selection.
amazing! As soon as you said "If you are a pixel peeper - if you want sharp cornes or if you need autofocus - then get the fuck outta here - i knew i was here to stay. Love the Video and the looks so picture looks so soothing! Thanks for that!
This was the most surreal and dreamlike video I ever saw. Christian thank you for covering manual lenses. Can you please recommend a good focal length for a beginner videographer?
Superb cinematic, very creative! 👍 I award you a sacred Panda 🐼 Here have 2 🐼🐼 You deserve it. Feed them well and look after them, they love bamboo shoots.👍😳
Love this content, I’m sick of wasting money on what can mostly be done cheaper in post production versus thousands in gear. Reminds me of the girl scratching her lens to get a vintage look. And a guy made a video about how to do the same look through photoshop
Only use vintage canon fd lenses on my Fuji x for video, just love them. There is also a mod kit to make them more like a cine lens that's not very expensive that I might try at some point. Love your work man
DUDE THIS WAS RAD!!! gives me some really good ideas as well, i shoot lots of my pictures on vintage lenses but am always scared to do videos, this may be the push I needed!
Definitely a good alternative since 27-28mm options are slim out there outside of expensive cine. Can't beat the analog vibe of getting looks live too, same with using Fuji sims, lens filters, lens whacking, etc I've grown to enjoy getting looks as I shoot vs post. Something more alluring about it the older I get, guess I just appreciate the organic experience of it vs clicking/dragging in post.
I had this lens for a little bit, gorgeous amber flares and ghosting. But it is stuck at f2 and has oily blades. Also check soligor 24/f2.5 it has that nice big ring o’flare.
Mine was also stuck at 2.0 but seems that all you have to do is unscrew just a little bit 4 screw on the back of the lens and then suddenly aperture ring will be unlocked :-) Just make sure to find the perfect spot - if you unscrew too much you will notice some looseness in lens construction.
Nice bro...Way too much perfection out there with digital this and that. Yes, for sure it is nice on those days when we are tired and lazy, but are we artists or are we ARTISTS. Get out and create. Peace!🤙😎🤙
Hab mir gerade ein tokina 35-105 f3.5 geholt ... einfach weil ich bock hab damit zu experimentieren.... 30€ Altglas macht mir mehr spaß, perfekte bilder
Turn off the sensor stabilization and you will get a much more organic feel in the handheld shots, that dragged in the image doesn't look good and gets you out of the moment, despite this, wonderful video.

me after your very first line: "that's what she said"
😂😂😂 I thought I was the only one

Going back to the vintage age, is beautiful. These lenses has charachter, and has a way of expressing authenticity. Love it.
blue hour shots are amazing just wow

People be thinking its just the lens, but it be the everything
@@shuddercount6278 YES! But still, lens is worth mention. Its 60$ price, to be exact :)
I was hoping for a bit more talking about the lens rather than a bunch of shots against music
I learned him the best gear he had his ideas, his thoughts, his creations, his imaginations.
Awesome. So many lens video are just about a guy sitting behind a desk showing us the lens, instead of showing us the footage. Great visual style, well done :)

Loving the vibe OMG

I have this same lens... I gotta get it out now and go shoot it. Thanks for the inspo!
Love the ending. The gittery hand shake and lights made that purposeful nostalgic look. ❤
I love that atmosphere. Nice editing, colors and music. Everything worked!
this was surreal
I loooove your style, Chris!
amazing, Loving it!
This was the most surreal and dreamlike video I ever saw. Christian thank you for covering manual lenses.
Can you please recommend a good focal length for a beginner videographer?
Yes! Yes! Yes! That's what I am experiencing as well! I love my 19mm f3. 8 Vivitar on my Canon R6. This camera is so underrated... Great job man
buying one now, thank you
I own this lens, it has so much character. It's rightfullly named the dream lens because of the bokeh, softness and flares
It's great vintage lens, one of the best wide vintage lens.
Maté Grab’s THE MAN !!! No doubt 🎥🖋🎥💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻pure creativity, honest & REAL.
Ich find leider nur die f2.5 Version. Muss mal weiter schauen. Schöner Content und thx für den Tip. Grüße aus Rheinland Pfalz
Love it!!!
Please, I would like to know how you did this? the effect 3:24 - 3:26
Thanks, it was made in camera, just shoot your video at 1/15 or 1/8 shutter speed ;)
@@cmg Thanks!!! 💪🏽
Anyone know what adapter I would need to get this lens with a sony a6400?
I think FD to E-mount
so good, going to LA next week and going to try to something cool with the olympus 50mm 1.8 vintage lens on my R6
Superb cinematic, very creative! 👍
I award you a sacred Panda 🐼
Here have 2 🐼🐼
You deserve it.
Feed them well and look after them, they love bamboo shoots.👍😳
Would this lens work on a6400?
I feel like you’re really creating for YOU and no one else. Thank you for taking us on this journey.
wow what an intro, and what an awesome video
Love this content, I’m sick of wasting money on what can mostly be done cheaper in post production versus thousands in gear. Reminds me of the girl scratching her lens to get a vintage look. And a guy made a video about how to do the same look through photoshop
This is so good!!!! I’ve been saving up for a vintage lens too. The Helios (4 something). There’s something raw and organic about vintage lenses
Yeah the 44-2 is pretty nice 🤙🏼
Have the 44-4, also pretty nice
Only use vintage canon fd lenses on my Fuji x for video, just love them. There is also a mod kit to make them more like a cine lens that's not very expensive that I might try at some point. Love your work man
That was cool!!! I just got my Helios 4-22 and can't wait to take it for a test drive, thanks for the video bro.
Awesome shots!
Amazing work! Love it!
Loved this video wish I could thumbs up it twice. Thank you for this.
Urmitz 🤟 schön dort ...gutes Video
An interesting picture is obtained on this lens ...
Video is great as always!
Gorgeous
that intro = instant sub
Something truly magical about vintage lenses. Thanks for sharing.
DUDE THIS WAS RAD!!! gives me some really good ideas as well, i shoot lots of my pictures on vintage lenses but am always scared to do videos, this may be the push I needed!
It has a Wong Kar Wai aesthetic to it. I think you should make a second copy of this footage but with a step printing effect.
Fantastic video, great footage👍👍👍
So inspiring ✨️ excellent work man! 📽
The intro… 🤣 💯 🔥
Must be something about this lens. Mine is stuck at f 2 also. Someone else in the comments mentioned that as well. Great visuals!
the blue hour part.... wow
Definitely a good alternative since 27-28mm options are slim out there outside of expensive cine. Auto Chinon 28mm 2.8 is also affordable and m42 mount
this was awesome. that intro was perfect.
Wow! Amazing!
Look like everyone taking cues from GxAce. Just shows how much he inspired everyone. Seeing more and more filmmakers emulating his style.
Hello friend, what lens do you use for the macro intro shoots, thanks , so cinematic the vivitar lens
this was amazing
What is the full name of this lens so that I can search for it? Gotta say that I absolutely love the look it gives!
I love your videos man. hahaha speak exactly whats on my mind
really really good - so dreamy
Beautiful work, what camera did you use ?
Bro this is dope! I have two Pentax lenses for my film camera im definitely going to use them on my Red Komodo
I had this lens for a little bit, gorgeous amber flares and ghosting. But it is stuck at f2 and has oily blades. Also check soligor 24/f2.5 it has that nice big ring o’flare.
yeah, same as mine..seems like all of them are stuck at f2 because of oily blades..

Epic editing!
It´s not the gear, it´s the artist behind it!
"if you need autofocus... you can get the f**k outta here" - yeeeaaaa, we could def be friends ahaha
Lmfao I’m 💀…”then you can get the FUCK out of here!”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
your voice is amazing bro 🔥❤️
Awesome. 😊
beautiful!
I’ve been using the f2.5 version and is also amazing! Thanks for your video 👊🏼
Amazing video, i LOVE It ❤️
This is awesome Man!!
I will never get tired of this video.
BTW, what do you think about Kiron 28/F2? Does it produce the same quality of images?
I have the 28mm f2 Kiron from Minolta MD mount, & it's awasome, f2 it's Sharp.
I have a vivitar zoom lens for the minolta mount and i love it soo much because it renders the image so good! Only the housing is shit.
Nice bro...Way too much perfection out there with digital this and that. Yes, for sure it is nice on those days when we are tired and lazy, but are we artists or are we ARTISTS. Get out and create. Peace!🤙😎🤙
Fetzt einfach!
Jeez. This was beyond expectations. Phenomenal job brother. Subscribed. My only regret is I haven’t found you before.
What adopter did you use for this lens? I'm also into vintage look but don't want to buy expensive RF lenses
The Vivitar 28mm f2 is okay but if you want the GEM its the 35mm 1.9
i like the intro also where he says gtfo unlike most cheesy youtubers. get straight into it!
Turn off the sensor stabilization and you will get a much more organic feel in the handheld shots, that dragged in the image doesn't look good and gets you out of the moment, despite this, wonderful video.
Yeah definitely forgot to turn it off 🤙🏼
DOPE! 🔥
perfect
Ah! A fellow GXAce lover.
Beautiful!
You are my favorite photographer
ALWAYS inspiring Christian. You could have just cut out the spiel about the lens and just uploaded 'A Visual' and i would have been happy.
What would be a good equivalent for a canon t6?
love it!
It's nice to see what can be done without a $1000 lens.
Such Amazing
Это потрясающе. Задумался.
i cant find the f/2 one, just 2.5 or 2.8, another question; wich adapter should i use? i have a canon 80d
Yeah they are rare laterly...you need a Canon FD to EF adapter, they go for 30$ on amazon ;)
Wie immer ein Meisterwerk. Ich finde deine Kurzfilme wahnsinnig gut gemacht! Ist das in der Eifel gedreht?
Danke Andreas, war quasi bei mir vor der Haustür (Ochtendung und Urmitz)
