  • Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.
Thanks for watching and God bless!

In my grocery store they are simply called potato sticks and they are now in a small bag in the chip section of the store usually by the pringles and the bugles.

Potato sticks! Walmart and grocery stores have them. Sometimes they are near the snack nuts. I've occasionally seen them near the fried onions you put on green bean casserole.

They’re called Pix Nix and they’re just matchstick potatoes but they’re so tasty. We used to put them on salads for a crunch. Our local grocery store sells them in the can!

You don't need a crockpot for ribs unless you like them boiled. You will need an oven, aluminum foil, baking pan (walls needed, make sure it's not a cookie sheet), a bit of olive oil, your favorite spice mix and barbecue sauce. Cut the meat in half (unless you have a pan large enough.) Use a little bit of olive oil and a rub on the meat. Don't overdo oil because pork has plenty of fat, it's so the meat just has a start. Place the meat in a backing pan (best covering the pan with aluminum oil because it's easier to clean.) Cover the pan with aluminum oil tightly. It will take around 2 or so for the meat to cook at 350f. Try not to pick, give at least 1-1.5 hours. When pork is soft, brush with barbecue sauce, increase temperature to 400-425f, rost if you have it on your oven. Let the sauce cook on the pork gor about 15minutes. If desired, repeat once again. That's it.

Peel the membrane off the back of the ribs first and they will be more tender. You can put them in The crockpot while and pour in a can of coke or Dr Pepper and cook on low all day add bbq sauce when you take them out. Another way is to cut them into pairs and put in a big pot, cover with a cheap beer and add water to ensure the liquid doesn’t boil away, add onion slices and boil until cooked through, then you have a choice place in a baking dish and cover with bbq sauce and cover with foil and bake or put them on the grill and cover with bbq sauce. All are delicious.
What a great haul you got today! Potato stix and our local Dollar Tree sells them.

Read up on the vinegar with the tart cherry. I know I take a tart cherry juice gummy at bed time because it helps you sleep. It actually knocks me out. I’m not sure if it will do the same being in the vinegar.

Take the ribs boil on medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes that gets them softer and boils out extra fat then you can chop into sections and place in a crock pot on low heat and let cook overnight and a small amount of water and season the way you like then remove bones add BBQ sauce and make pulled pork sandwich will stretch your food budget

Just a heads up, please pay attention to what is going on around the world, bible prophecy is falling off the pages of the bible. If you aren't saved, you should get saved now before it's to late because Jesus is coming very very very soon. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10: 9-13, Ephesians 2: 8-9. Much love and God bless.
