Along with I Travel ... Hunter And The Hunted is the most PERFECT and my FAVOURITE Simple Minds track. It always has me in tears. It hits the heart, the soul and makes life worth living for 5 minutes. To beautiful Music hurts me as much as it fills me with joy, it stabs me and this track makes me bleed furiously +
Completely at their peak right here. Everything they're about is right here. It's lovely to see a band when everything comes together...much of what follows is bullshit ( and they knew it) but they were right on it here.
What a line up they had, Micks keyboard skills in this track totally brilliant, every bit as good as the album version where Herbie Hancock played the lead keyboards parts.
I grew up hearing The Beatles and Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd from my older brother but I really cannot think of a better song than this one. It's mind-boggling how cool this song is.
Keith I have seen them twice live 55 thousand in my region Leeds United kingdom outside roundhay park and again Leeds first direct arena 7 thousand I had the upmost dream come true right at the front . nobody could have written it I blew him a kiss being a woman and all tree tree that .he put his thumb up and said motioned to say thanks . I was shopping in the town in the day as me and my mother .she was 64 we made a day of it before the concert at 6.30 PM this man came up to us and asked if we knew he could buy some ciggies . slang for cigarettes. I said were do you come from because he had a Scottish accent . he was he replied Scotland I am the sound engineer for simpleminds . I was like wow . I said keep talking to me I love your accent . I said we a re w seeing the band later on . I so wished I said can you mention me and get me there autograph . but the night will stay in my memory till I pass away I want . big sleep played at my funeral

I really love Simple Minds. They are my all time favorite Band. I particularly love their Live Performances from 1981 and 1982. I'm not saying that I don't like their Music. I just personally think that their is more enthusiasm and Creativity behind the Music. This Music is inspiring and I'll say it again. Jim Kerr has to be a Genius, because of the way he changes his Accent to sing! I really have to thank the people who unloaded the Great Performances. Thank you VERY MUCH!
Some bands achieve super stardom. Some just lay down one of the most perfect albums of all time. As much, possibly more, than any other album, this encapsulates the 80s for me.
Along with many other bands still in existence today, they wrote this stuff when they were just kids. Keep being reminded of Slades Xmas song which earns them about 500k in royalties. Just from that one song. And wrote when they had barely left school !!
He fu.. looked like a moving Klaus Nomi here?! :-) Just kidding. It was a fabulous era for them. They made 3 extraordinary albums before they started to pave the way to the Yooohhh OOhh youuuuuhh ooooohhh llaaaallaaa bands of today as from 1984 on. Yeah, you and your band Chris Martin :-)
@@jameselliott8203 ua-cam.com/video/RzV-mu2bAew/v-deo.html here starts the best part i think , i made a ringtone of it , it even has : HEY ! i think this , unpolished version, is the best , especialy Charlie Burchill's guitar is light and frail , just like his dancing .
This music is in our veins. We, forever 80’s dreamers, boys and girls 🌟💫✨
So true.xxx
definitely
To be young again I’d sell my soul
Such a fantastic band and it went so wrong after NGD.
Yessssss
Best song off the album. Truly ethereal.
Absolutely perfect song...evocative, atmospheric, powerful, beautiful, and like you said, ethereal
Don't you forget about me....forget about that...THIS IS THE SIMPLE MINDS AT THEIR BEST....
I totally agree !
ABSOLUTELY!
They sound kinda cringe.
Mick Macs keyboard playing is mesmerising.
And Herbie Hancock👍🏼
@@theobsterTo be pedantic this is a live version so obviously Herbie Hancock is not there.
This live version of Hunter and the HUNTED IS truly awesome. It sounds so good it takes me back to my youth
Me too.....
Anche a me
Guess this has always been my absolute favorite Simple Minds song

When the Simple Minds were THE BEST LIVE BAND going! 1977 to 1984 was their peak time in the world.
Soundtrack of my youth 😊 such magical music by a group at the very top of their game 👌
Best track from their best album and live too - brilliant!
I’m so happy I lived in the eighties and that I saw Simple Minds live at two times, I’m so Blessed!🌟🙏🌟
Me too! That guitarist, oh my!
Ti invidio amico , hai assistito a dei momenti unici
Really interesting to hear how they pulled this off live. Anthem of sorts for me so many summers and winters in the 80s.
My funeral song......bring it on, what a masterpiece, real music
Stavo pensando la stessa cosa 💙
Can't fully articulate the intensity of Gen X envy I have of anyone who saw this live.
Passion, transcendence, joy.
How can this be better than the perfect album version…. But it is! 👌🏼
Best SM song ever

The keyboard on this track are simply brilliant, have a watch of Bowies Ashes to Ashes, the keyboard towards the end of that are brilliant to👌
Capolavoro 💙
Just brilliant ! Great and pure Simple Minds at their best. Those were good time indeed.

Epically uniquely masterpiece
Footage taken from their Newcastle City Hall gig in Nov 82. But as this is my favourite SM song, I couldn't care less.

Shooting from the hip
About our faith and love
I see it in your faces thin as shadow
See me as I figure in your late night plan
See me as I'm cocooned up in Badland
The side effects of cruising at the speed of life
The side effects of living in temptation
When only one star is waiting up on all of us
You'll see me as I'm cocooned up in Badlands
And how do I feel living in the eighties
And do I get to see the light of day
Kyoto in the snow but Heaven's far away
Sending their love - passion parade
Hunter and the Hunted
With me, first times can never lie
They were young - they were brave - they were the honest set
The greatest show on earth is here tonight love
See me as a figure in the late night plan
See me as I'm cocooned up in Badlands
The side effects of cruising at the speed of life
The side effects of living in temptation
When only one star is waiting up on all of us
You'll see me as I'm cocooned up in Badlands
And how do I feel living in the eighties
And do I get to see the light of day
Kyoto in the snow
Heaven's far away
Sending their love
Passion parade
Hunter and the Hunted
With me first times can never lie
Only with you
Life moves so fast
When your hear me screaming
I'll be seeing through the eyes of love
Tell me can you hear me
Tell me can you see me

My sone is 13 and it's one of his favourite songs!
Don't worry, they do. This is one of my 14 year old son's favourite songs!
Absolutely Amazing.......Good Times weren't they
Mi canción favorita de Simple Minds. Me encanta la fuerza y la energía que transmite. El ritmo es perfecto, con acordes de guitarra muy buenos.🥰
The bass and synth programming on this track are just divine. Funny story, Brian McGee gave me a taxi ride to Glasgow airport once.
never never again..80's forever
Estilo propio, sonido sofisticado y a la vez potente. Simple Minds atemporal siempre espacial libre y con pasión. Una de mis favoritas bandas.

No one can play the famous solo like Herbie Hancock.
So true, herbie made this song
